Buffs, at this point in time, and given the history of what the concept of buffing skills in GW means, would probably cause a very nasty power creep.

I like farming, thrill of the hunt, and can't stand pvp (did it in my youth with Mechwarrior 2 & 3) just doesn't appeal to me anymore, especially guild wars since pvp should be called "Build Wars".

Another thing I like is using different builds. With these constant nerfs I am forced into using the same build over and over, gets boring. Rit farming is not dead, just got limited on viable builds you can use now. Guess I will go back to my 600 Necro / Smite to farm feathers and celestials.

Would have been fun if players could change the build during pvp matches, then quick thinking, quick response, adaptability, and skill would have been used to win battles but instead you get "Build Wars".

This was one of the worst skill nerfs yet. I am very dissapointed sadly They buff unused and never to be used skills AKA Chaos Storm and nerf skills that were used a lot, even thought they were overpowered I wish they would BUFF SKILLS when they NERF skills so new stuff can be used.

And BTW, the aegis nerf = /fail. Make it your entire radar again and I will be happy but it is pretty annoying how you buff, than nerf, then nerf a skill...

Apart from the aegis update, the rest wasnt that bad, stop QQ'ing ffs... You will find another meta to farm your easy fame etc, Jesus Christ, before everyone was like, remove blind off 1 plz omg disable the blinder, ffs i couldnt hit shit because of the blindbot blablabla,
rits, splinter was overpowered, get over it,
para's, big deal they'll survive just like they survived the aggressive refrain nerf which was also announced the end of paragons etc...
Every problem/nerf challenges people to come up with solutions, and believe me, tomorrow everyone will be playing the new meta, whatever it may become...

I will still argue down to the ground that GW is a great game. Concluding that the entire game sucks just because one aspect hasn't panned out well is not logical argument. There are many pros still for GW being a great game.

Yes PvP and PvE skills need to be separated. I'm just going to have to deal with it until GW2, to see if they make this separation.

Creating a boundry between skills for PvP and PvE is harder then most people think. Stop complaining about it, I highly doubt ANet are going to even consider changing over a thousand skills to make PvErs happy.

Death pact at 18 x 8 = 658 armor ignoring damage (isnt it?)
problem is you can do it every 3.75 seconds , droping PwK to heal the sacs or w/e party heal, while the infuser would have to stay alert every seconds between WoH and infusing the new gay bloodspike? w/ 1 energy cost you can also cast one or two Vampiric Swarm to randonly damage some guys then spike a pre-called target to get the monks confused on who to heal/infuse.

And I'm so glad I'm tried of all these long drawn out gvg matches that the majority of always goto VOD. It's time monks finally got brought back down to earth. I say they still need some more nerfing. I want to see slaughterfests in gvg not ring around the rosey.

"This month's update is unique. It is a "temporary tournament update" targeted at the final cash-prize tournament, which will take place at the end of April. The skill changes are temporary and will be in effect for only two weeks. They are all geared toward addressing the most immediate issues with Guild Battles.

In order to reduce the possible negative impact on PvE play, we will be reverting the changes on May 1st. For future tournaments, we aim to focus on changes that will not impact PvE play at all. "

There is a note on the official wiki that says the developers stated the skill changes will be reverted on May 1st. Guess we'll see.

Maybe they should make Ursan a PvP skill now - then no skill nerfs and the game will become the classless wonder that it is becoming

Fixed a bug that caused the Paragon skill "Never Surrender!" to affect non-party allies.

DOH! I've been exploiting this in Fort Aspenwood forever on my paragon. All the NPC and any minions would get the buff. I could hold the entire base up by myself with shouts.

us pve players wouldn't feel so let down by the anet staff if they would learn how to balance the skills they created from the start. too many times now have pivotal skills in good, balanced builds in pve get rolled because some JUNK build like escape dervs fudge us over, exploiting a cheap killstyle.

its a lose lose for the pve crew, rarely getting a buff here or there, that simply catches a nerf soon after 90% of the time anyhow.

and im not picking on you Dr., its just pvp attitudes in general are just as bad as the "angry" pve'ers. its the pvp whining that gets us into this junk in the first place...

because most were because of the blatant abuse of skills. not because they were actually overpowered...

and moreso... because anet either buffs a little, or nerfs clear into the dirt till it about as good as Primal...

This made me lol. *NOW* they realize that the flavor-of-the-week gvg builds that result in out-of-nowhere nerfs for casual pve play tends to erode their casual pve base, which is probably the majority of their cash flow? Wow, way to catch on about 2 years too late. Of course, of pvp and pve weren't tied together as people have been suggesting for years, we wouldn't be in this situation.

So this is what passes for management at Anet. Well I shouldn't complain, it's a step in the right direction, and a bit of a mea culpa. Hopefully another way in which how GW1 has trended towards teh suck will be a lesson learned for GW2.
