Wish I had a quarter everytime someone on here said someone else "had or has no life" lol All I see in that statement every single time is jealousy and envy hahahah that's all that statement ever means. I can feel in the air, if a team will win or not, in the first moves you can see if you are playing with good or bad player, players with exp in the mission or not...
If the monks fell they monking to no exp or noobs they simple rage quit... monking is to hard to work for noobs...

I dont mind PuGs tbh..In fact I'm usually the one to snag a random poor person begging to join a team if I'm alone with some heros. Of course I ask to check their bar Yes I've had bad experiences, but not enough to steer me away from PuGs altogether! I always like to see what people are running and everything turns out well for the most part :P PuGs are a nice way to meet new friends ^__^; Never know!

Hey i'm 13 years old and i'm properly a way better play than the OP so blaming younger players on your disadvantage isnt totally fair i know there are noobs out there but not all younger players are noobs usually its the pugs and if you think what its like to be in my shoes being call crazy and such cz the rest of the players bring me down its not nice..... just think.

To crazy 12 "yr" olds.
I'm an ass to a lot of people in game. That's a bad perk of playing for over 21 months, my expectations have skyrocketed. Once I know how to do something, I want other people to know how as well.
That's why it's hard to PuG things these days, someone or everyone is doing something for the first time, even as we speak. It's annoying to handle, knowing FULL WELL I was there once, too. I just hate grouping with people doing stuff for the first time because I'd much rather be concentrating on the mission, run, or whatever, than trying to talk them through it, "Okay, now we go THIS direction for bonus" and whatnot.
This has led me to a very harsh attitude towards GW players, I attack little things, but things that are normally easy to find out. "wut duz WTB meen?" Is asking for a flame. "Could someone please tell me what WTB stands for?" Is easily more respected. Hell, I gave someone an entire tutorial on what LdoA and Deathleveling were, because they asked in a decent manner. I can be decent if these scrubs are decent first.

I can be much of an ass as well, especially if people don't listen in a mission or something where it can lead to a very quick party wipe... or something too long like DoA (I swear, taking fast routes will get you called a noob, go figure out why!). I'm thinking about yesterday, where a friend and I simply raged out of a group because no one would listen at all, follow directions, and whine when you explain why it's faster to do this than the other way. I did warn them not to take the stuff I'd say personal though, because I couldn't focus on anything and in general, it makes me cranky and I'm even more of an ass.
I'm willing to listen to anything that can be helpful, why can't other people do it? If you explain me in a calm, decent manner, I'm more than willing to learn... "Hey, I know a faster way we can do this, btw"... will go so much better than taking the lead out of someone. But most of the time, I see it done and the "leader" doesn't know where to go, aggroes stuff and blames the death on the monks.

Was farming in Nahpui Quarter for feathers and celestials and while setting up two people on local chat were being very rude to another play, noob was the nicest thing they said to him.
More pissed then anything because no matter how bad a player is no one should be talked to that way so I whisper the guy and tell him I will take him through the mission. Switch to a ranger and setup an H/H group with one empty slot. Invite the guy and start off on the mission. He asked what I wanted him to do I replied stand in the starter area or follow if he wants drops, that was my first mistake.
Turned out he was the typical leeroy elementalist; keep running to the front to hit something with a sword, actually had an elite warrior skill equipped, he just reminded me why I never pug. At one point I actually started to think that maybe the guy was trying to lose the mission as some kind of way to grief people. In the end he ended up with a masters and I was reminded that no good deed goes unpunished.
When the celestial compass was released went on several UW pugs as a HB Monk because I wanted that compass. Every grouped failed because of people taking every quest, leaving, or thinking that ursan means they do not take damage. Got invited by someone to go with their guild and even though they started at 1:00 AM (coffee is your friend) I enjoyed myself and learned a lot from that group.
Morale of the story, never pug unless you like grief.

I pug a lot and I have a reputation in my guild for managing to find the absolute worst pugs out there. I'm always telling them some hilarious story from my latest pug adventure.
But like I tell my guildies, not all pugs are bad. Actually most of the pugs I join are rather good. It's just that the bad ones make for more entertaining stories and thus are remembered more.

I would say those Monks are smart if they join Ursan parties and if opted to leave.

Once I did an Ascalon 4/4 mission in hard mode and one of the party members was someone random from the outpost. There was a group of Charr we were able to skip but the person kept asking us to kill them. When asked why, he or she replied, "because they look stuped."

Happened to me yesterday, i was 4/4 nolani in hard mode, the monk was ALWAYS talking even in bad moments for example:
When rurik feels uber-leet after he shout in the Horn:
(him)-Yeah i ate mushrooms for supper with beef and potatoes, it was sooo delicious but what i like is(2 minutes of talking)-
(me)-DUDE, can you just heal instead of talking! We really don't care about what you say can you just please HEAL RURIK before he dies!
He then shout at me :
-STFU NOOB i do what i want.
And then 10 sec after, rurik dies. He says: Not my fault if you can't kill fast enough!

I pug nearly everyday and I don't run into nearly as much problems with pugs as people in this thread are saying they do. I ran the new prophecies mission all last weekend and only ran into one bad group and it really wasn't that bad we just wiped. Big deal so we wiped accidents happen. Just because you wipe doesn't mean everyone in the group is a bad player. I find most players are good/average players I'm not expecting some elite gvg pve players when I group up. I actually learned to play the game for "fun" and not a must complete this mission at all costs first time type player. I've run into missions that we've failed numerous times, doesn't mean everyone was a bad player, things just happened, some quit (losers) and the rest of us kept going on. I remember one time in tombs we lost half our team, but, the four of us continued and still finished it. Quitters never win and usually are whinners the most. They want everyone else to hate the aspect of pugging because they don't like it, thus, why you see so many on websites.

My favorite PuG experience:
I was doing Selvetarm some random people, me as a R/Rt FS Barrager. We were doing pretty well, until outside the door to Selvetarm. The tank overaggros and we have 10+ toucher ghosties against us. We eventually whittle it down to 3 or 4, but one of the monks suddenly leaves. He is quickly followed by the other monk and a nuker. So now we have no healing. And one of the nukers goes AFK. We get back to the door and kill the ghostie touchers. We're in!
Selvetarm's group, after agro bunches up, so we died and came back again, after the nuker left. So we now have: tank, nuker, SS, ranger. After about 4 tries, we eventually finish off his group and now the end chest spawn. While the tank distracts the ghosties that spawn and we get the end chest. I was sweating the whole time.
Now that was probably the only good PuG I've ever had. I've had about 50 bad experiences. And the rest were average, nothing good, nothing bad.

wasn't a smart group to begin with so i saw it coming thankfully i dc'd right after two people dropped so i didn't have to listen to the excuses/insults on why i suck so much at monking

PUGing NF mission with my dervish. A guy wants to bring his Dunk and Tahl. Both are Mo/R, with pets, and a smite or two, plus a few heals.

A couple days back we got a new guild in the alliance, and yesterday I teamed up with 'em for a FoW run . As we were missing some people, we had to PUG. We took a while to find people, but we eventually did, and one of them was someone (IIRC) quite known for FoW runs, I won't name who because of the rules... not because I don't wanna. Anyways.
We pick up the guy, and right off the bat he brags. "I do FOW runs in 43 minutes, noone I know [in this team]". Since my alliance folks are on vent, you can see it coming: "He's good, but not THAT good, I've teamed up with him already... guess he's alright" says one. We get more people, another one knows him.
When asked for cons, the guy complains that he's gonna have to use his set AND lead. We let it slip for now and we head off.
Inside, it goes like this (Vent discussions in italics, I remember the stuff but don't expect quotes):
Guy: I have to use MY set and lead...
Me: I'll use my set first. Don't care much anyways. (If that can shut him up)
Guy: But I have to use MY set and lead...
Alliance: Talk about some attitude... he's getting annoying already... *said a couple times until we each battlefield*
Guy: yeah well I don't wanna lead and use my cons.
Me: I've been here for *types age* 8 minutes and I'm already tired of him. Man he's arrogant.
Alliane: Yeah...
By battlefield he's still whining, and someone aggroes a mob by mistake.
Guy: No don't kill them, they're slowing us down!!! MY GOD!!! I'm faster!!
Alliance: Dude if you don't like it just leave.
Guy: But they're slowing us down! It's long! *whines a couple more times about the group being slow and aggroing more mobs than he wanted*
Alliance guy #1: ... Stop whining already
Alliance guy #2: Yeah it's annoying, sounds like you're a kid.
Guy: I'm not a kid, I'm 24!
Me: ... Act like it?
Alliance guy: Act like it...
PUG: Stop whining, act like your age...
He promptly shut up. Don't think I've heard him much for the rest of the run.
Oh and at the end, I'm bringing griffons.
Guy: Ok Cheran, bring griffons.
PUG #1: Come come!
Me: coming, coming... I have informants on vent...
PUG #2: lol u guys need vent for fow???
Alliance guy #1: ... because it's fun? because we like to talk?
Me: Socializing?
Alliance guy #2: I like vent...
Alliance: Why the hell does it matter?

FOW tends to attract some of the biggest idiots around. I was pugging in TOA last week. Our leader is forming a group and looking for 1 more.
A ranger joins and pings a decent build. Our leader asks him to please add EoE to his bar as it will make the skeletals quicker. He refuses. He says his bar is perfect and he isn't changing it. He is also bragging that he does fow in 40-45 minutes max and his bar is godlike and our leader can just "stfu!!"
He's also filling up team chat with the typical "Go! Go! Go!!!!!!!" messages and other stuff that I can't repeat. Our leader finally kicks him and receives a lot of applause from the team. He then proceeds to fill up local chat with profanity and slurs aimed at our group leader telling everyone in town how horrible our leader is and nobody should join our team because we're just a bunch of noobs that would take more than 90 min to finish FOW.
I replied in local.."now you know why we kicked him off the team. Who wants to listen to that for an hour!"

Lmao too funny. Now I was just in a pug and this one warrior had UB. Well I merely said that I just did 90 damage with my wand and he laughed. Stating that his UB did 65 + 65 damage every attack and of course I laughed that he was using UB at any rate. Welp guess who DIED TWICE during the run? hahah wasn't me, was the ole UB dude and he didn't get to cap his elite either hahaha. We were doing the portal wraiths and his green boss was right there, but, someone else in the group said to kill the wraiths first (so I did hehe). Well of course we know if you kill the wraiths first and they are the last 3 wraiths what happens? If he hadn't kept on with how great UB is etc. he might have got his elite and not died so much (I'll have to have a talk with my Dunkoro about healing him)

Yeah, I must attract morons. This is a long-ass post, but it all happened within 20-25 minutes.
Friend and I are bored, so we decide to PUG UW Ursan (yeah, ursan, I don't give a crap what comments might be related to this). "UW GLF 1 terra tank with mimicry, 2 HB monks and 3 R8+ ursans". Typical group, eh. And you know what happens when you ask for ursans... you get ursans.
In 5 minutes I get the following:
- A 55 monk
- A nuker who thought we weren't going ursan
- A guy who thought we were doing FoW
- A R2 Ursan
- A R4 Ursan
The team wound up as the following:
- 2 HB Monks
- A HB monk with some prots
- A Terra Tank who refuses to run with mimicry ("At least he'll nuke", we thought... don't jump to conclusions, you'll see why I make my terras bring mimicry after this, the next one isn't escaping it unless it's alliance/friend)
- 3 R8+ ursans: warrior, ele, and something else... necro IIRC.
INSIDE:
Everyone's ready, I aggro. No one follows me, but at least I got healers. Took 'em a while to move, they killed the first mob and I aggroed the second. Died right there, no one was beside me. (You know how sometimes you aggro and the rest of the team comes, like... 99% of the times? Well that time is the 1% ¬¬). They come, kill off the mob, I get res'ed, we move on.
On our way to Labyrinth, slower... much slower than usual. All this time, the terra tank is staying far away from us, only using MS twice. He didn't do anything else but move and leech off drops (and that's WHY I want mimicry on their bars, else they don't do anything for most of the run!). We thought he could nuke a bit to help but doesn't much, so it quickly gets on our nerves. The prot monk isn't doing anything either, despite the mass damage the puller gets (usually me, but I got out-pulled by the warrior a couple times) and the group who doesn't kill very fast.
My friend makes me notice, on vent, that the warrior seems to have not used ursans since he's using sword skills, but I tell him it might be because he had aggroed the graspings and they drained his energy or something... but I highlight him and I see Glad's Defense. Times like these are the only times you'll see me spam-pinging something in team chat.
Me: Erm why are you running Glad's Defense? I asked for ursans...
Him: no u askd for tank
Me: .... I asked for a -TERRA- tank, not the same...
We got to the reaper, but someone started taking quests right away. Unwanted Guest. "Doh". Restoring. "Eh..." Escorting of Souls. "****".
Me: *over vent, highly annoyed* Can I rage? I've had enough, let's find a better team...
Friend: *over vent* Yeah sure.
We both leave. I told myself that I would, from now on, check if everyone was ursan.
Moral of first story: read spams before self-inviting, guys. PLEASE.
We're annoyed but still want to do something with people, so instead of UW we start a FoW group. We pick up a monk right away, then another which is an ursan. During this we still get a couple people.
Ursan monk: i do this fast so i want to be in lead. im on q duty and i kill wolves. got that??
Friend: Oh Cheran does this in less than 45 minutes...
Me: *Over vent* WHAT?! Man I'm not that fast.
Friend: *Over vent* I just told him that to shut him up
Ursan monk: yh well i do this in less then 45 mins too
Over vent, both: Lawl. Yeah.
We grab more, we go in.
INSIDE: I wait till everyone's loaded and I aggro. Turns out my friend loaded a but slower and the other monk didn't do anything - I died and so did another ursan. I apologize and use the cons set when both of us are res'ed. I draw on the map to avoid a mob, but the so-called-"im-better-then-u" other leader decides to aggro a different one, and all the ursans are ahead of me now. So we have triple aggro, a monk who doesn't seem to do much while my friend is rushing. We die within 4 minutes.
The monk did say it was his fault (wow for once someone takes the blame! TBH I've seen this only 3-4 times in nearly 3 years...), but my friend and I were just too tired so we called its quits for now.

Random, but relevant thought:
I think it's funny how all the taboo on racial slurs are being pounded into kids for being "extremely bad", but over the internet they sling them around like they're nothing.
Same case with Xbox live. It's hilarious.

I have a story. This doesn't involve a 12 year old and it doesn't involve a pug, yet still typical.
I have a friend that plays GW. He is an adult yet he sometimes has the maturity of a 12 year old. Thankfully he rarely tries to play with other players. He will group up with friends and guildies but never pug with strangers.
This guy was playing for probably a year before I bought the game. When I started he was one of the few people I knew ingame, so I adventured with him a lot and let him show me the ropes. It took about a month before I realized that I knew wayyy more than he did.
He's your typical wammo. Charge in, kill first, ask questions later. Once I was attempting to vanquish with him. Just us and 6 heroes. We had a party wipe and I was the only one left alive. I used rebirth on him and then waited for my energy to regen to get the heroes up. As soon as I rebirthed him, he ran off and aggroed a nearby mob. While I'm standing there yelling...WAIT FOR EVERYONE TO REZ!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately that's typical.
Last night he contacted me and asked if I had a good E/A raptor build. I told him I usually don't farm in HM there because I'm typically just looking for holiday drops when I raptor farm. Anyways I wasn't on my Ele and I wasn't in town so I couldn't ping a build.
I told him to check pvxwiki and that my typical build uses Shadow Form, Light of Deldrimor and a bunch of PBAoE fire skills like lava font, inferno, Glyph sacced MS, etc.
He thanked me and left. A half hour later he pings me his build and asks if it's good. He had Shadow Form, 2 dagger attacks, Flare, Firestorm, Fire Attunement, Glyph Sac and MS.
Well at least he included MS.

I often play in alliance battle as a healer (Ritualist), it's hard for me to find a decent group and most of the time they don't cap, run and mobs to kill kurzicks like they're here to farm balthazar factions. And of course, insult most of the players they kill.
A day ago when joining a party in AB :
<me> : hi
<guy> : show build
I show my build...
<guy> : weapon of shadow sucks it doesn't heal use something else
<me> : well it blinds the opponents and it's not my only spell don't worry I know how to use my build
<guy> : kick him
<guy> : kick him
<guy> : kick him
2 seconds later I got kicked out for no good reason.
It's a common example in my experience.
