Thing is two bad players doesn't make a good player.

It's stereotypical to say that 12-year old teens are to blame for poor performance in PUGs. Sure, there are alot of 12-year old's that're lacking a bit.. but there are also some very keen youngsters out there that should not be discredited by this general outlook. PUGing has a high risk of failure (I'd say a 50% chance), but it's all in what you want out of it, too. Most just PUG to get through the storyline, but the most favored way (unfortunately) is H/H'way.
Nonetheless, teensters are not all to blame imho.

I am 15 and meet immature noobs all the time. Never have I been called immature or a 12 year old or anything like that. I do PUG quite a bit, and when I meet a newb (not noob) with a bad build, I will give him advice on how to make it better. Carefully planning before every mission, checking the people's skill bars, and discussing tactics before hand leads to success with PUGs almost every time. I love Monking, and I have never once rage-quit a group. The only group I left mid-mission while Monking (or anytime for that matter) was with a PUG I was just helping in Iron Mines. I left at the very end as we were killing Marcus because my power went out. Unfortunately, I didn't know any of the people or remember their names, so I could not explain to them why I left. Of course, sometimes you will get the dumb person who won't listen to instruction, but I still try my hardest to keep them alive, because everyone else in the party deserves it.

This happened to me recently. Going into a mission, with people who at least sound like they know what they're doing, that could take 30 minutes up to an hour and more. And leave 20 minutes in.

I was PUGging in Thundearhead Keep a few months ago and we began to lose as Mursaat swarmed the fort. For some reason, one of our tanks left and one other soon followed, for reasons unknown. We staved off the first few waves and just then one of our healers left.
Well, I thought we were screwed but miraculously, we still beat the mission.

Yesterday at Mallyx's gate. Ursan group. Two monks avoid the spawn and move in the direction where the Ursans are standing together fighting one remaining Margonite. Third monk tries to walk through the titan spawn, away from the other two monks, away from the Ursans, goes outside our healing radius and dies.
Ragequit dead monk.
Please note, being a 12 year old is a state of mind. You do not necessarily have to have that state of mind at any time in your life, not even when you are 12. Some rare specimen, however, do have that state of mind for their entire lifetime. We invented Youtube to track their exploits.

Why blame 12 years old.. i'm 13 and still.. completed UW hm Fow HM got in total like 15 titles maxed.. so some people are just 'noob'. they leave if people die because a whipe. Same with CoF i farm it but i can die because Reversal of Damage.. and they did like 300 CoF runs and they say "Your a monk you need to heal yourself".. but i dont got self-heal as a smiter i think then.. Omg....stupid noobs.. you know that i can die because of Reversal Of damage.. and then they still say your a monk you need to heal your self.. i can get so mad of that you know

I know it's not entirely part of this discussion but I find agro quit's VERY immature. I've never done so .. Only time when I /resign is when there is a consensus. And if I feel then that the group isn't going anywhere. I'll leave the group when back in town, but not before then.

It's especially fun in FoW groups.

It's a computer game.
Is that not 'immature' in its self?
*EDIT* By that I mean getting your piss flaps in a Knot over it.

sometimes in ha group some really immature and stupid people draw penises on the minimap. it offends me personally and usually i either tell the person to stop or if the problem persists i will just leave the group and call them immature and tell them to grow up.

It doesnt matter what mission/quest/dungeon it is. PUGs have a high amount of FAIL dripping from them. I will run with friends and H/H. Had to many morons run off agro everything, then run back screaming like they are in a Godzilla movie. Dont crap on the monks either until you have played one and had to put up with other peoples stupidity. Monking is watching a stupid box and moving with the party. BUT, if the party whipes due to bad play, a bad pull (which happens) its the monks fault that he/she couldnt keep them alive.
There are bad monks of course, so its not that all monks are saints. But people are stupid. go with guildies/allies or h/h.

another funny story from HB -
went into a game...won it "just" i.e I was 16-0 in front so I went AFK in my base - then he started raging and swearing with every-word he could think of in private chat - "guteral guteral guteral etc. you f'in lamer"
general thing that made me lol was he was running 1sin a/w - 2 r/p packhunters and a mo/a with 'sin retreat skills :P
so funny how he thought 1 mo/n with 1 a/d 1 d/w 1 w/a (test build w/a)
was totally and more lame then his lol
then he started telling me to piss off when I told him to grow up and accept I beat him fairly - then he started raging saying "you cheating your hereos body-blocked mine"
when I replyed "yes I put them there" - I found to no suprise that he had ignored me - lol
so funny
more to follow as they happen lol ^^

Another FOW failure story.
I'm doing my usual Sunday morning PUG FoW run - actually it was 2 guildies (both were monking), a friend of one and a couple PUGs. We had a wammo who kept attacking through SS, and our healers were starting to get annoyed. Ensues a fight between the healers and the wammo, who then rages after saying that "attacking through SS didn't matter".
(Off-topic: Oh wow déjà-vu feeling).
After the wammo rages, it goes calm again; we're taking MUCH less damage. I noticed one of our ursans acting weird and rushing around, but at first I thought he might simply not be careful... until I realized that:
a) I'm seeded, and both my healers haven't used it (we're on vent)
b) the monk ursan is now standing RIGHT beside me, after having used Ebon Escape, not in ursan... while I'm triggering pops
c) he's healing from the middle of the mob.
I tell that to my guildies, who are getting annoyed already - they saw it as well. We tell the monk, who then goes back in ursan without saying a word. Regularly, he accuses a wammo of aggroing stuff while HE's the one doing it. It doesn't help that we reach the hour mark right after Army of Darkness and that the ursan monk keeps aggroing stuff and blaming it on the warrior.
By Wailing Lord we have more than enough. I equip a bow to pull the shard wolf, but the ursan monk rushes in and gets killed, sending some of the aggro our way. As usual he blames the healers (yeah, try to heal an overextending caster with 3 mobs on him). We half-wipe, recover, kill the wolf, res the guy (our mistake) and move onto griffons.
Monk ursan stays with griffons (second mistake). And you can see it coming. We aggro, get a partial wipe (gotta hate people who aren't ready and never say a thing), so he comes back to us to res, then goes back to griffon. Everything goes nice... until we reach last mob. I get spiked and die, one of the healers is lagging, the other is starting to get pissed off at the ursan monk who keeps insulting us in team chat ("fu monk, my seed is better then urs, last 4 seconds, u all suck, fu, die all"). Okay sometimes we DID reply back, especially me, but I never told him to go **** himself or whatever.
Then it happens. We see the ursan monk coming back to us, griffons following him. There's another one alive but he has no res available. Ursan monk lets the griffons die; I was about to report him for verbal abuse (he was pretty much spamming them) but I missclicked and reported my friend instead (we were on vent and rather laughed about it though, I still feel bad lol). When I clicked to report the dumbass, he already had raged.
We got kicked. ONE. MOB. AWAY from the end.
I say I go mad but I'm -nowhere- near what the guy sounded like in team chat. Some people need anger management.
EDIT: Expect another one next week.

I was doing my hero's handbook NM and needed destructions depths ( i know bad thing to pug) anyway i pugged. No Monks joined so we brought 2 hero monks both running decent builds, now me and the warrior were the only two who did it before and the other people followed our orders to do this and that and went smoothly, we also had the ele bring rez ( you know why not) during the run it went smoothly, ele died a few but nothing that set us back, now being the ursan at disc of destruction i blocked the disc on the steps along with the golems and it was controlled, so great run by these first timers very nice very nice,
Also im 13 so we arent all bad :P

We were doing FOW HM run using "Ursanway".
After the first conset was put up, our 1st HB monk disconnected...we pushed foward nevertheless, thinking he might return. Nope. 1 down.
10 min into FOW, 1 ursan quit because he had something urgent to do. Don't do FOW and don't cost someone a conset if you are not available for at least 1 hr.
At forgemster, another ursan gets disconnected. Another warrior ragequits and leaves. We are now official 4/8, with 1 guy disconnected.
I wasted a conset for nothing. From now on, I will make everyone pay 1750g which will include price of 2 sets + entrance fee, and only I will activate the consets.
Can't rely on pugs in elite missions. This was the worst FOW HM team I have had in my 20+ runs.
----------------------------------
Another story:
We finish FOW HM with all 8 intact. Here is an excerpt of the converstion after griffons were delivered (all 11/11 quests complete):
Monk 1: OK, what now?
Monk 2: end chest
Monk 1: what is that
Monk 2: thats the reward
Me: Did you never complete FOW??
Monk 1: my first time. everytime before this my group failed
Monk 2: what a nooob
Ranger: virgin
Me: lol

So basically in Story#1 you're whining about a wasted consumable set and in Story#2 you're laughing at a player that finished FoW for hist first time ever?

P.S. Some posters in the thread are way worse than these "Crazy 12 yr olds"
Elder III
With the exception of running/ferrying I stay away from PUGS for the most part. On the rare occasion I join a PUg it's usually because they are asking for help and seem to have a decent attitude beforehand. I honestly dont mind PUGS that have multiple newbies/inexperienced players, I don't mind multiple wipes (i generally pass out DP removers to anyone that dies); it's the ROTTEN attitudes that so may people in GW seem to have. As far as I'm concerned if there is something that would gain you a bloody mouth if you said it to someone in RL you have no business saying it in GW either. So, as one of the posters at the start of this thread said:
"Love your Heroes, Cherish them, and lavish all good things (upgrades & skills) upon them." ok that's not an exact quote, but you get the idea. By following this philosophy I have been able to do every non-elite mission with H/H, generally the first try, except Gate of Madness (go Guildies go!!!). A little review on wiki and some planning and you can H/H almost anything. :d
So, imo get into a good guild that is happy to help out when you need it, be willing to help others out when they need it = a nice friend's list, and treat your Heroes like family.

Monk 1: my first time. everytime before this my group failed Monk 2: what a nooob Ranger: virgin Me: lol (others): lol |
I'll share this. Thanks for reading.
So this guy had his first full FoW run as a monk with 6 overextending Ursans, managed to get you through and you laugh at him and call him a noob? And you posted this to state what? I just hope he will never meet people like you again though chances are slim. The first full run is always something special. Good job spoiling that for him.

Learn to read you morons, he isn't "Monk 2", he's "Me".

As for PUGs - I found it a lot easier to PUG when I'm party leader. A vast majority of people do not check other people's builds, some lack the knowledge, others are afraid to kick idiots, some have bad attitudes to begin with... I'm pretty casual when leading, I take questions, check builds, suggest improvements but above all I have no issues with kicking a retard and always engage players in a relaxed conversation about their armors, weapons, minipets, whatever. It relaxes people to talk about their characters and develops a sense of camaraderie between total strangers. PUGs like those survive wipes and no idiots rage because the idiots have been filtered out.

Right.
So, "monk1" has just finished his first ever FOW run with an Ursan PUG. Heling Ursans puts a lot of strain on monk's nerves, believe me. Therefore, calling that player "noob" and laughing at him after he successfully healed their dumb Ursanway a55es is... Retarded. Wouldn't you agree?

"lol"ing at him for his first run after someone called him a noob and especially posting it here is better then calling him a noob?
Don't think so . We did get that he is "Me" but gratz on the "morons". Well placed for maximum /fail
