If you've played more than 1 PvE character/class, which was your favorite?

I have a Ranger, Elementalist, Warrior, Mesmer and Necromancer. Among all of these, only my Warrior have I disliked the most. My own personal tastes realm itself for long range or casters rather than melee.
Still, I equally play them.

I'm an adamant derv lover, but from an objective point of view...
Paragon owns all. Paragons can do better damage than a ranger, provide excellent party support, have amazing emanagement when doing so, and are based off of one my ancestry's cultures.

Necromancer is and will always be my favorite class in Guild Wars.

Necro or monk were definitely the most effective. As for fun though, assassin takes the cake for me.

It's been interesting to read other people's thoughts on this subject. Here's mine!
Elementalist = my primary character #1. <3 He gets all the expensive fancy things and most of the play time. I created him in Factions and have played through most of the rest of the game with him, too. Nuking the hell out of things is awesome, but I also really like the versatility-- there are so many possible builds and ways to utilize the character within how the different elements work. I also adore him because he looks like a complete pansy.
I played my necromancer to level 20 as a minion master in Nightfall, but squirting out minions-- as cute as they are-- got to be incredibly dull. Any of my necro heroes can run a MM build as well as I could. I'd rather destroy things myself! I know there are other builds out there-- I messed around with all kinds of things-- but I just can't seem to get into playing her, especially when I have limited playing time and my ele is so much more fun. Maybe it's not as much a problem with the profession as the fact that I need more practice playing it.
My very first character was a Prophecies mesmer and I still have him. (Yes, him. I apparently have a thing for incredibly homosexual male characters. ) It's been ages since I've played him, but I remember that fast casting was pretty awesome, as was turning your enemies against themselves. I also loved playing a mesmer because it keeps you thinking: you don't cast the same spells on enemy warriors as you do on enemy spellcasters, so paying attention to the combat situation is vital. However, he didn't seem as functional in PvE as my elementalist. (I know, I'm biased!) I've also found that a mesmer secondary can be incredibly useful in some situations.
Those are the three that I've played the most. When I get the urge to play through areas I've already finished with my elementalist I'll probably pick up the necro or the mesmer again. I've always been a bigger fan of casting classes than melee classes.

Dervish and Warrior. I had the best time playing those classes.

For nearly three years I loved playing my necromancer, who was very effective. However, now I main a warrior who I would say is just as effective for HM PvE. The least enjoyable classes in PvE for me was my ranger and my monk, who I initially created to farm with; however, I did monk with her.
That isn't to say that they aren't effective classes; it's always nice to have a good human monk along; the AI's interrupt reflexes is amazing, so naturally a ranger or mesmer hero does wonders.

for me intially, i was a ele nuker... ele nukers are [were] almost always desired for missions and elite areas
my favourite now however i think would be mesmer. they are just so damn fun!
on saying that tho, i have enjoyed every other profession guildwars has to offer, most notably assassin, dervish, paragon, ranger and ritualist

Ouch, hard question. The more I think about it the more I really don't know the answer.
Ritualist and Monk are probably my favourites, followed by Mesmer and Necro.
I play all classes. I have a lot of fun on my assassin, very unique play style. And sometimes I just want to whack things on my warrior. Paragon is kind of like playing monk - I enjoy that too. Ele I love for the yellow numbers but it can get boring sometimes. And dervish I don't play her enough but enjoy it when I do. Oh and ranger - my first character to finish Prophecies was a ranger, I like the versatility of the ranger class but also lament some of the restrictions.

My favorite to play is my Monk, but I need a huge motivation to actually get on it.
Otherwise, my Necro is the easiest to hop on and play when I'm bored.

I havnt built characters completely besides my warrior, but I consider my heroes just as I would another character, I use them often, acitvating skills and moving them as I would a character.
I like the warrior because hes got the ability to outlast most professions in the field. He can take a hit and keep on going. He used really neat looking weapons, like kanaxai's axe, chaos axe, long swords and cool shields. His armor looks great, specifically the warrior helmets. And ofcourse warriors endurance is my favorite skills so that plays a part.
I got a level 20 dervish, but hes not finished. With the limited skills he has its not a real treat to play him yet, but I like what I'v seen, But the warrior beats him for me in sheer fun.
I got a level 7 ele, I like the ele, fire magic really hurts mobs, but you have to run like hell to often for my tastes. Run and Gun has never been a play style I liked.
I'm building a monk slowly, I just used a tome to get SoJ, so I'm hoping within the next couple months I will have him leveled up. I need to wait for some of my characters to hit their bdays so i can get the mini, delete them and make a new ascalon character for that -50 focus. then I will have everything I need for a 55 (i think)
I havnt played anything else enough to really have an opinion. But rangers, paragons, ritualists and necros make wonderful mules.

I haven't beaten the game with them all, but of the ones I've played for a significant time...
1) Mesmer - Not sure why, it's also the most frustrating at times, but when it works, it rocks, and I enjoy the playstyle.
2) Monk - Only frustrating in that I've found it harder to H/H with them, as heroes/henchies aren't correctly aggressive. I've actually done better with my monk in a bad PUG at times.
3) Paragon/Warrior - I rate these about the same. Warrior is a little more fun for direct damage, but as a paragon in H/H, it feels like I'm directing traffic a bit more, which is enjoyable. Both play very differently from my Mesmer too, which is a good change of pace.
4) See above
5) Ritualist - Played it as a MM of sorts, and it was fun, but it's just a little different to play.
Haven't played enough to judge fairly:
Ranger - Just haven't had the time
Elementalist - Seems fun though, but my mesmer was an M/E, and can do a lot of similar things.
Dervish - A change of pace on the Warrior, but I was building one for a running build, so it sort of got put on the back burner.
Not played at all -
Necromancer - Just didn't interest me much, particularly since many heroes run builds I'd enjoy playing better than I could.
Assassin - No free character slot, and had other choices. Looks like fun, so maybe once I deal with other characters.
Admittedly, part of my priority with playing characters has simply been to unlock useful Hero skills on my account. My Rit does that for me with necro skills, as she's an RT/N, Sin's generally aren't good heroes, my Mesmer was an M/E in Proph so unlocked a lot of /E skills (and there are some good Me/E builds), and haven't done a lot with Dervish or Ranger heroes.
I've also been interested in farming, and the Imbagon, so the monk and Pragaon got some love from that, but my Mesmer has done the most, and my warrior is my first.
Some day, I'll have 1 of each fully ascended and with a reasonable array of Elite skills, but I need more time first.

I hate most of the other classes. I only played my Derv through NF, now she's my mule, and I only got about an hour into gameplay with my Sin and Paragon.
My ritualist is fun to play on occassion, but those 6 of the core professions are always going to be best.

SharonC
Looks like I am not the only one who loves my rit. :-)
I have played all but the assassin and the paragon through at least one campaign. Most of them are through two, and 5 through all three. In order of preference:
1) Ritualist - Love playing a spirit spammer. It took a while to get used to her, and even longer to get all the skills to have her at max effectiveness (Summon Spirits, the Kurz/Lux skill, makes spirit spammer extremely fun. but getting 100K faction transferred first was a lot of work.)
2) Monk - I find the monk incredibly versatile, from healer to 600, I play pretty much every style but 55. Currently playing a 600 build a lot.
3) Necro - Fav build is a blood build, but I play pretty much whatever is needed by my alliance members
4) Elementalist - Really enjoy playing an ele, mostly play either earth or fire line.
5) Ranger - the first character I took through all three campaigns, first one I got KoaBD title on. My original favorite character, she doesn't get played as much any more.
6) Mesmer - Love playing a dom mesmer, but it took me forever to figure out the correct skills to use together. Now that I have a much better grasp of the skills, I enjoy playing her in PvE quite a bit.
7) Dervish - I enjoy the dervish, but really don't care for in-your-face melee types.
8) Warrior - I play a warrior when one is needed in the party, but not really a particular favorite even though it was the first character I created.
9) Paragon - Still finding my way with the paragon. Have a feeling that once I get used to her, I will like her as well.
10) Assassin - Tried playing her. Plan to continue attempting her, but the complicated skill chains, the follow up attacks, etc. make me confused. But then, I am easily confused.
The first 5 professions I list I play with great regularity. The next 3 fairly often, but not as often as the first 5. I swap characters a lot, based on my mood of the moment.

My favourite class...
Ranger - Versatility, high survivability and the ability to provide different forms of support to a group makes them my favourite class.
My least favourite class...
Assassin - Just a rather redundant class i think and i never really had fun playing them. Maybe others enjoy the chain/combo style of using skills but i dont

I have played my warrior the most but my favorite is a tie between Necro and Mesmer. It was tough to decide between those two. It si too bad the players as a whole do not understand the mesmers or I think there would be a lot more out there.

Paragon was my favorite until the AR nerf.
Now the Assassin is my PvE favorite again
followed by the Monk.
followed by the Ritualist.

followed by the Warrior
followed by the Elementalist, (I hate playing nuker, but I love playing an Ice or an Air mage)
I have 10 PvE characters.

I would definitely agree that my PvE Necromancer is the most fun and versitile character class to play. My necro has got 2,619 hrs and is currently sneaking up on 30 million xp. Anet has hit necromancers pretty hard several times with the nerf bat. How many remember old school MM's and original soul reaping? Even with the changes necromancers continue to be arguably the most versitile class in the game.

Out of all of the professions I've played, my favourite is the Mesmer. I enjoy being enigmatic and prefer to do things in more subtle ways, and I found that the more direct and sometimes "in your face" methods that the other professions prefer to use wasn't really my thing.
Maybe nobody else in the team understands what I'm doing exactly or how I do it, but what they do understand is that killing things and staying standing is somehow easier when I'm around. And that's more than enough for me.

As many of the above, i've tryed all classes, always end up deleting many of them. but the ones i've always keep is Ranger, Warrior, Monk and Necro.
Completly tired of the Ranger atm.
Warrior is great but a bit classic, everyone loves them etc. :P
Necro has a certain charm, but there is something about him i dislike..
Finally Monk, My personal favorite, The solo farming ( sure there is the rit, asassin, ele etc. everyone can solofarm somehow ) but the monk is still the best in most situations. Then the gameplay, you have to focus alot otherwise you get your party wiped.
Sry for didnt' make any point in the above, So here it is, my favorite would be Monk

I have played a few proffesions, but i always end up going back to my ele ^^
Nuking, tanking, spiking, shutting down i love it :-)
the runner up would be my monk though, If i get fed up of being a dmg dealer and want to do something a little different, i go play on my monk and heal/prot etc works great :-)

for me its my ele hands down. He gets all the good stuff including armor dyed black etc. And he gets me all that money back and then some. Also, he was my first character and I haven't deleted him since.

Gotta be the Mesmer for me followed closely by the Assassin. The way I see it, other classes have a noble purpose: causing the first problems for the enemy (Warriors, Elementalists, Rangers, Necromancers and Dervishes) or solving your team's problems (Monk, Ritualist, Paragon). I feel, however, that the point of Mesmers and Assassins is to take the enemy's problems and make them much, much worse by either taking away their options (Mesmers making it hurt to do anything) or remove the enemy team's problem-solvers (Assassins going after the casters and healers).

Ranger by far. Real survivable. Don't believe me? Talk to Reyna in the Prophecies end game screen where you get Deldrimor weapons.
