Who here buys runes/insignias for their heroes?

I am still in the process of acquiring all 25 heroes on my ten characters and finalizing their builds. Each will have appropriate insignia and minor runes including vitae instead of a vigor, and their weapons will be bonus items and/or greens I can farm. I have been using runes and insignia obtained from drops so far, but I should probably start buying them since I am approaching the gold limit on my account.

Salvage runes I don't need go directly to my heroes unless it's Superior Vigor.

I stick them on if they drop for me, but only AFTER i've equipped my chars, and I'll never buy for them.

The heros on my main toons have sup vigors, survivors + vitaes with a minor on the headpiece. can definitely see the difference when i party with people with un-geared heros.

I rune em all, it's pretty damn cheap so why not? And I agree I bought Sasuke armor too.. poor guy looked to horrid to use otherwise.

i do. minor vig on all heroes (major on wars), minor attribute runes and vitae for everything else. i skimp on the insignias tho...usually just toss whatever is cheap on em - blessed or stalwart. mm + bloodstained on the necros. got em all nice armor on my main char too.

as for weapons...they all have collector items mostly. i put unwanted +29's on their weapons as i get them from drops.

All my heroes get equipped as if I was playing them myself (except for Major Vigors instead of Superior... for now). They all also get upgraded armor.

For weapons, they get /bonus stuff (I have all the extras, so they get some halfway decent stuff). For runes/insignias... meh. Usually not, unless something useful drops and I remember to put it on a hero before merching it. I don't do HM or Vanquishing crap (boooooooring), so it's not really necessary anyway.

I put vigor runes, modified weapons to suit their class and builds, as well as insignias. I also put those bonus runes like vitaes.

For the most part - yes. Any Hero I play much at all gets a full set of runes (major vigor - but then that is all I will purchase for my own characters too, only the few main characters I play or the trader get superior vigors). After that as I find runes I give them to the ones I do not play until they are all runed out. Same for weapons.

I mostly treat the heroes I use as another character - what I would purchase for a character I play I purchase for them. The ones I rarely use are relegated to "mule like" treatment where they get items as I find them just in case I get the idea in my head I want to use them.

I use minor and major runes for heroes (to keep costs down) and give them /bonus weapons and old weapons from primary characters (well modded crafter weapons and old greens, mostly). Oh, and everybody's got ascended armor, but that's because I really enjoy the challenge missions (except Remains, which sucks ass).

Something I can really not understand: Some people have 2-3+ chars with FoW armor, but their heroes often do not have remotely useful gear.

It is not that hard. I used /bonus and greens like the Scar Eater in the beginning. Then I used minor vigors, major vigors, handed them down and now my main char's heroes all have perfect gear, superior vigors + destroyer weapons from the monument.

I know some guys whose heroes are really not equipped at all. I think if you can afford pretty expensive luxury gear for yourself, your heroes should at least get collector gear!

I see heroes mostly as a convenient extension of storage for runes, insignias and perfect equipment (it's also great that you can push some extra off-hand stuff to those heroes that are wielding two-hand weapons) so I don't really care about the adequacy of a particular hero's equipment as long as the stuff is consistently distributed for easier browsing (like, every MoW has a curses and Olias a death set, every Koss an axe, Goren hammer and Jora sword and so on) so when somebody wants to buy a good recurve bow I'll only have to check a couple of Margrids before finding something that pleases the buyer.

That said, other than slapping salvaged Survivor and Radiant insignia to random heroes I don't really bother with insignia or runes. I believe that all Oliases have by now a Sup Death (the only case where I find it justified to run a sup rune other than vigor on a hero) and quite many have (also salvaged) major vigors, superiors I sell. I don't buy runes, heroes do well enough with whatever can be salvaged from the loot. PvE is not so hard that you'd have to take whatever advantage you can get.

I did buy the insignia s, for the rest they got what drops. I have lot of luck with minor/major vigor(never got a sup yet ;( ), got a mule full of these things.

The Heroes I use on a regulary basis are all fully equiped with weapons (end game greens I don't need) and Runes/Insignia's. Most of them are bought, didn't want to wait until that particular needed rune dropped.

I just like some preparation before I stumble into a fight.

I do on rits, anyway the only viable builds are channeling/resto builds or channeling/smite builds lulz.
