I've been watching the favor drop recently, and a rough estimate is that it's dropping about 200 minutes a day. At time of writing /favor was 5,639 minutes whereas four and a half days previous it was over 6,700.
I did enough maths at school to work out that gives us a little over 4 weeks should it remain constant.
I had hoped that favor would rise somewhat over the weekend, and maybe the rate did increase during that time but it just bolstered a higher average loss during the working week. I'll know better by this coming weekend I guess.
So, it's time to dust that scroll collection off I guess, but I wonder if ANet will eventually replace the current system for just perma access, in line with the recent perma-sin buff.

The reason it was so high was just because of the favor spike over the SS/LB weekend. Yes, it was a long time ago, but it popped it up to well over 20,000 (been a long time, I know it was much higher than that). Once it drops down it'll be the way A-Net intended it when they implemented the new favor method.

It won't make a difference because loss of ~200min per day means people are earning favor at ~1200min/day. So even if the current stockpile of favor runs out, we will still have favor for 80% of a day.

It's a gimmick, I know, but how often can they keep extending its longevity? I'd love to see the data on what % of the population has whatever maxed titles.
As 'I pwnd You' stated, the titles will naturally start to dry up as only the harder to obtain titles remain for some players and who's to say that most people haven't already done the easy ones. Any chance of the stats Regina?

Hopefully when favor wears off they will let it sit for a while and let ectos and shards jump in price a tad.

I doubt a lack of favor would drop prices with the innovation of scrolls. Those that have been farming enough have been getting UW scrolls and will have them when we lose favor. As for FoW scrolls if you dont have at least 20 where the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO have you been!

Lol some of you act like if the /favor hits 0, the economy will crash... I really hope the /favor hits 0 and stays there for a while. In fact, Anet needs to get rid of scrolls all together, and make it so we have favor less often. Ectos/shards are getting REDICULOUSLY low. Easy farming is the biggest, if not only contributer to the economy being so terrible. They need to make EVERYTHING harder to farm, including ectos/shards.

To put it simply, getting FoW and prestige armor still requires a ridiculous amount of grind, though it is less than what it was before. It gives people motivation to actually go for it instead of moving on to another game...

I'm not so sure that a double SS/LB weekend will increase it anywhere near as much as the last one two did. By now, most people who can be bothered getting those titles have already done so over those weekends, so the only ones left are newbies, the handful who missed out, or those who want the title on more than one character. And I don't think there are that many working on titles for anyone other than their mains...

That was taken away because of bug. NOT because anet decided so. (If they decided so and didn't have balls to tell community ... what a awesome company.)

Guess what... they dont care, and they dont care if you cry over it. If they were going to fix it they would have at the time it happened.
Im pretty sure they were happy that extra time got lost, if they wanted favor to be 24/7 all year round they would have made it so in the first place.

When summer break starts in europe, favor time will go up again as people have more time to waste on maxing titles. Don't know about US though? Summer break starts next week here in Belgium, about the same in The Netherlands, France etc... And I'll bet Anet has got another double ss/lb weekend coming up, the last one has been a while ago

What I believe should happen is for the only way to access FoW/UW is through the scrolls, it will take a while to get those prices up, but it will raise the prices of Shards, Ecto, and both scrolls once people start running low (which might never happen as well due to people having so many as it is), and it would be needed for scrolls to stop dropping out of the end-chest.
In short, removal of scrolls from the end-chest and removal of favor. That will save the price of ectos and shards (and create 2 more high priced items eventually).

lol Anet just needs to bring again a Sunspear/Lightbrigner Weekend Event and BOOM, the minutes will explode again tol ike 50k plus minutes or even again so high, that it must be resetted XDDDD

There are millions of multiple characters from players left, that get not played mainly as title hunters, so theres much potential left to bringt up the minutes again high, it just needs only 1 very good weekend event, that is good to farm with it massive amounts of points in short time.

People were maxing titles before we got 30,000+ minutes of favor, and still will when it runs out. We had a lot more favor than with the original system. There's still new players starting and theres still people starting to max HOM. Not all titles have been maxed, believing this is extremely stupid. Ectos prices aren't going to fluctuate enough to make any difference.

Who the hell cares about the economy anymore. I for one am glad there is a A/E perma SF farming build, and that ecto prices are dropping. FoW armor for the world! I also got my first (and only) FoW armor with lots of patience, hard work, farming etc. Took me well over a year to get it with the little time I have to play. I don't care it's so much easier now. I might even go for a second set on another character now.
All the elitists/hoarders have their elite virtual trinkets and their huge e-peens, and they have had their fun with them. Now let others enjoy the chance to get cool stuff as well. It's just a game ffs, and it's OLD. Get over it.
