Will you be purchasing Guild Wars 2?
Thizzle
I couldn't find the poll option so I went with the next best thing. Reply with a yes or no and maybe a reason why or why not. I personally will be purchasing it right away because Guild Wars was probably the most addicting game I ever played even when Arena Net nerfed all the things they did. I look back on it the game before I was banned and remember all the good times I had just finishing the game.
Avarre : Added a poll.

I will buy it if the reviews of the media and players are good after a month of it being released.
I have enjoyed GW since 2005 but would hope that GW2 does not start out as GW has finished. That would stop me from buying it.

If I could, I'd vote for:
I plan to see what GW2 is like at least one to two months after its release for purchasing. If it looks good enough for me to think about playing, then, and only then will I buy it. Otherwise, I don't need more things to be consider a waste of my time.
But because I can't, I voted no.

Right now my intention is not to get it. My hope is that The Chronicles of Spellborn will take GW's mantle as the place to get balanced, skill based, no mandatory grind pve gameplay.

Of course I will. A game I played 2000+ hours on and I'm not going to buy the sequel? C'mon!
However, it will be a deal-breaker if its not up to standards. I may not agree with a lot of the development decisions as of late with GW1, but keep in mind that these are the same devs who originally made the game I fell in love with and devoted 2000+ hours of my life to. I still trust them, but if they cheat me out another $50, then I'm out and never looking back.

Regardless I have a character with full decked HoM but looking at Anet's direction, at this point, I'd say no.

I have faith in Blizzard - they have yet to turn out a crappy game (ok, WC3 wasn't all that great, but far from crappy).

Sure I will. I have plenty of time invested in the HoM, and I'm looking forward to new content. Anet has excellent support, and the game pretty much the best value for the gaming dollar if GW1 is any example.

                    Yes I will buy it.
Will I keep playing it? Time will decide. What will happen for me is I will play for a couple months, then a better MMO will come out. When that better MMO gets destroyed because of 9 million + subscribers wanting to be casual failures, I will come back to guild wars 2.
And for gods sake A-Net, no character based titles.

Will I buy it...yes. I have close to 4000 hours invested in GW1 and have enjoyed it immensely for most of that time.
Will I stay with it ? That depends on whether or not they follow their current trend of emphasizing grind based play over all. If GW2 places as high an emphasis on grind as GW1 has since the introduction of NF then I will move on.
If there is any advance indication that GW2 will emphasize grind to the degree that GW1 has come to, I willnot buy it and will do everything in my power to convince the members of the 6 guild alliance I lead to move on to a different game. We have been together for a long time now and many of us are frustrated with the game's decline.

Hmm, isn't there already one(or a dozen) of these topics in Riverside?
Anyway, Option 3, I'm gonna wait till I know something a little more concrete then a title before I make a decision.

I'm not sure if I will buy it. I am looking forward to the concept of it, but I'm starting to doubt if it will be a good game. I have a feeling that it will end up as a crappy game. But, as long as the storyline is good and there is plenty to do after beating the storyline (mainly elite areas and side-story stuff) then I probably will buy it.
I'm not that picky, and all the other games I am able to play without buying a new system, don't look that good. Because I'm unsure, I won't vote yes or no, I want to vote for Pudding!

almost guarantee I will be buying it
only way I probably wouldn't is if the beta was completely terrible and all the reviews towards the game is strongly negative. Even then I would still be curious how the final product actually turned out.

Looking at the huge deterioration that took place and still ,about the content and the game mechanics (everybody complaining about laag and disc),it is a huge NO.
Starcraft 2 and AoC are more than enough for me.

Yes. I have money and I love Guild Wars. I'll roll a new character a.s.a.p. and this time around be excited about being on the forefront of in-game community based and skill based development. I'm excited about the new opportunity. If the game sucks, then I'll go back to GW1 full time or just find something else to do with my time.

MMORPG's are games that are supposed to kill time. I've played Guild Wars for over 2,000 hours, and I don't plan on continue playing it, so I won't be burnt out when GW2 comes out. I'll probably pre-order it, if it's good it's good, if it's bad it's bad.
So yes, even though I don't agree with pretty much anything ANet has done in the past year, but I'm still going to buy it.

Depends:
If it is similar to how gw was in its golden age (no grinding, im not opposed to pve skills that are attached to primary attributes) - then yes.
If it is like how GW is at the moment - then definitely no.

There are no perfect games, there will always be flaws, no matter what you play. In the end it all comes down to personal taste and interest, if you find everything so boring and flawed, then maby it's time for a new hobby?
Guild Wars like some posters above me said is one of the best games i've ever played, i always keep it as my castle and try other games when they come, but i'll always come back.
So yes, i'll continue to support GW.

I wouldn't be wasting my time with all these titles, and decking out my HoM, if I wasn't going to be purchasing GW2. I only hope that they do all their major updates/nerfing in the first 6 months, else I don't know if I shall continue playing. I get sick of designing PvP/PvE builds then having them nerfed a month or so later. Sure it keeps the ball rolling, though when you dedicate so much time into this, it gets rather pointless.
That, and they need an in-game auction house...this makes things so much easier on the player and chat channels. I really hope this is added.
I guess time will tell whether or not I continue playing, but in either case, yes I will be purchasing the game...Collectors Edition for sure if available. I missed out on the Proph CE, and that really pissed me off. I would like to see CE's available from In-Game Store also.

I can only hope that guildwars 2 will provide the same amount of fun as this one did.(and still does)

Of course , I've enjoyed GW so far , despite ANet trying to make it every posssible button mash a godmode and 2500 hours play on a game for very little cash is excellent value for money.

I don't see the point in all this "not if it's like GW1" nonesense. If you don't like GW1, you shouldn't be posting on a GW forums. use your time for something more useful.
