I would pesonally want to play as Dwarf, ya even as Dark Elf in GW2 ,but it are such stupid Whiners, like you Talile, which bring Anet on the wrong road with their perma QQ about races, which should not be playable, only because they like them personally not.

But that gives no one the right to forbid others, what they should play, when the developers have the option, to satisfy both sides, because no god damn person will force you later to play an Elfe or whatever, when they would be playable - just ignore them and play only those races, that you like -.-

its the same god damn shit, like with Ursan Blessing - you don't like it ? then don''t ************************* use it !!!!!!!

How often have we to tell you guys of "Ursan Haters&Co." this, until it gets into your vacuum heads ?! Everyone has the free choice of what you want to play, and what not and noone will ever stay in your back pointing with a Shotgun at your head forcing you to do anything, what you don't want -.- so stop the retarded perma bitching about things, that you don#t have to use, when you mustn't to play the game, like you want to play it with your likings.
Yea,because adding a million races until every single idiot is pleased is possible.

I'm just hoping for a great fun game, one where I can delve myself in as I did with GW1. So far, everything I've heard and read about GW2 sounds very promising.

- The visual upgrade, if it's the same team that made GW 1, it's going to be awesome.
- The storyline, from what I've heard it's going to be epic.
- The HoM rewards, I'd like to see what we all gonna get.

Not looking forward to:
- High level cap (well, actually the grinding to get there)
- non-instanced area's (I want to be a Hero saving the world, how am I gonna do that if there's 1 million other guys doing exactly the same)

Anyway, I'm hoping for the best. Let's see what it turns out to be.

Better class implementation, as in all classes being relevant and appreciated as opposed to some being good and the others being loathed, and hopefully more options and variety than the core D&D class blueprint that has been used for years.

Warrior, monk, ranger, elementalist (wizard), yawn.

I'm hoping they take the same path of originality they did with Mesmers, Ritualists, Dervish, etc but polish and balance these classes more so they aren't such a trial to use in game.

I'm also hoping they do a better job on the skill-sets so we can see more justifiable and effective build variety as opposed to a small core set of builds for each class with little variation. Also making all skills viable would be nice as opposed to the plethora of turgid and never used skills in GW1.

Seeing how they fit the Sylvari in. They seem like a bit of an afterthought, no mention (bar one line in the end sequence of GWEN) in any other campaigns, no images barr a few pieces of concept art. Im looking forward to seeing how they fir the Charr into the scene, how they construct each races' homeland and how they all interact.

Im looking forward to the specific abilities they give each race, if Norn can turn into bears, what can Charr do? What can the Humans do? etc.

(Sorry Tatile) I think I'm going to be a Sylvari, I like their look .

I'll be looking to build another strong MF orb sorc as well as a barb that's going to whirlwind everything to death (including himself under iron maiden).

Oh, you're talking about GW2 and not D3?

Well uhh...I'll be looking forward to Gwen's hot descendants.

Hey hey hey, the Sylvari don't bug me as much as actual Elves, if anything I like them because they look like they're going to be plant like. Triffids aren't always a bad thing

If you want to play a Sylvari go fot it! Just be wary of plant slaying mods. I may go Charr and/or human, haven't decided yet.

One of the main things is GvG. Missed the boat this game, but GW2 will probably be sufficiently different that everyone will be a nub again.

Other than that, a less sterile game/world than GW1 had.

I want just the core professions with potential secondaries in each expansion wich turn you primaries into something like a KOTOR2 prestige class, if you know what i mean.

Example: In the core game, you start as a warrior, who can get a secondary paladin, elemental fighter or necro knight. Certain professions would have skills only available(or workin differently) if you are of a certain combo.

Improved Trading-System

That would be my top-priority. Either an auction system like in WoW or the option to sell your goods in little shops that you can place in a city.

Just something other than "WTS WTB WTT"

I know they announced a much better trading system, so I'm very hopeful that I can actually play the game more and not spending half of my time trying to sell something.

On-Topic: I'd like to see my an improved PvP. Maybe something such as a war containing 100 vs. 100 people at a time? It could also have an observed by using the keyboard button 'B'. I believe it owuld be really fun to play in.

Ahh, the Vulcans D:
I always liked them, never thought them to be Elven either >.>

Though I am very much looking forward to how the classes are handled, particularly the Mesmer and Ritualist, I'm obviously concerned about what will happen to them.

I'm going to miss Instances though, I just can't get used to Persistant games for some reason.

What I'm looking forward to?

I know that the GW community has complained all along about bugs, things broken here and there, balance issues, etc. What I'm finding out now is how well run and hands-on ANet was with Guild Wars from the very start (up to the point when it stopped being their primary focus). I loaded GW in July of '05 and played hardcore up until the end of this May and never once were there any really serious gameplay problems, or problems that persisted for weeks (I ignore periodic lag issues as I feel that just comes with the genre). I say "finding out now" because I've been playing a fairly recently released game, that while fun, is completely plagued with minor and major problems that seem as if they're being avoided. The player base seems to be losing way too many way too fast for a new game.

Soo anyway... I'm looking forward to a well run, 'enhanced' Guild Wars. There were things that weren't part of GW that I would have liked, that would have made it even better. Supposedly many of those things will be in GW2. That's exciting! An even better looking game that includes (some) persistence, more freedom in movement, some life skills, evolving environments, etc. all in that oh-so-familiar GW package... yeah, I'm looking forward to that!

ps hope: That the persistence & instancing works well so that outposts and cities are still filled with players, not spread so thin on different servers/worlds that it feels like a single-player game. This is an upsetting thing with the other game I mentioned above. The players are spread out so much that it feels like there are only ten people playing the game at any given time.

The female Sylvari in the concept art does not have pointy ears. They look more round than pointy.

I can see that mistaking the Sylvari for elves is going to be as common as people calling Factions, "Fractions" in the future

Back on topic - The reason no Dwarves will be playable in GW2 is because they all turned to stone I'm assuming. But it would be cool if we could play as a stone dwarf, maybe a certain one from GWEN. But at the same time I can see why they didn't add it.

And I see no reason why ANet would add elves since they haven't been in the game at all. Sylvari to me aren't elves, more like humanoid plants. Plus they're tall, unlike elves. But whatever, people can play whatever they want.

I am hoping that certain races aren't limited to certain professions. I hope that all races can play any and all profession they want. It would be unfair otherwise, plus each race already has its own "benefit" (like Norn turning into a bear).

As for the mini pets, some of us really like them and hope they remain in the game. For those of you that don't like them, just sell them and make some money so you can buy something you do want. Problem solved.

Actually Tender, most Elves these days are quite tall, probably stemming from Tolkein's influence on the subject (at least they're taller than the wee little knee-biters that some people think of when they think fae). Also, the Sylvari are plants, like Triffids. They're just really pretty human-shaped Triffids.

Also, the idea that certain professions be limited to certain races go against ANet's initial ideas of equality (probably why they tried to make Ursan blessing a reedemable skill, to get everyone to the same level, but it doesn't work that way guys).

There was a seperate piece of concept art of a male and female with spiky hair and pointy ears. I'm hoping the one you're talking about (I know the one, of that girl in the woods) is the model they choose : (

Indeed - quit flaming the OP and just get on with enjoying this thread.

What do I want? Lots of beautiful scenery; lots of exotic things to kill and be killed by; lots of character customisation; lots of lovely new weapons; enjoyable PvE; optional (but still enjoyable!) PvP; simplified, automated trading; minimal grind.

I'm really, really looking forwards to this

Oh are they? lol My bad, shows how up to date I am.

You do have a point about the equality thing. But like most I'm just excited for a fresh start. *parties* hehe

And I love the idea of new scenery as well Snograt, and being addicted to screenshots, this is gonna be good.

Firstly, the one thing I'm looking forward to most is Anet to start caring again.

Secondly, I'm looking forward to feeling disgusted at how much of a WoW clone GW2 will have become.
