Less elitism, no skills linked to titles, no grinding titles. Also no weapons available in pvp or pve only I see that as a big unfair feature in GW1 for the simple reason that not everyone likes pvp/pve.
Conclusion: Better balanced and fair game for everyone.

That "long swear", uhm, isn't acutally one XD, just a little fake that should show better my anger and i holded the * a second too long XD
But it's funny too see, how people direct start to interprete, it could be such an enormous terrible swear, that they want to know, what it is XD, see Meat Axe lol
Quote:
I would really like to know the word that is censored there |
There you hold only a sec too long the *, and people assumption, you'd sweard out your soul XD
However, Meat Axe says the right words:
Its the decision of the developers in the end, which races should be playable, and this decision should be made by them totally free and should not be anyhow manipulated by eternal QQ's of stubborn selfish people, which wan't to see certain races juts only not, cause of personal dislikings and try to take influence on ANet through dictating QQ's, what should be playable, and what not, because they threaten otherweise, not to buy GW2 >.> lol
Ok, thats everyone's good right, but who cares, when you don't buy GW2, because it would have also some traditional races, like Elfes (just an example)?
Anet cares about it sure not, when some people will leave the boat, enough new people will surely join GW2. They ever stated, that they don't care, when people will quit playing GW, because they don't like, what GW becomes over time, because they know, that they can't please everyone !!!
Would GW2 now get no Elves or so, I'd find it sad somehow, but I don't make a mess about it, like the whining Cliche Haters faction here in all the forums - but mostly it is guru >.<, the forum of perma bitching QQ'ers.
Would anet wanted to create an 100% unique Game, as it has been mentioned here, then the game would have had from the begin on never races in its lore, like Dwarfs, Centaurs, Tengus or even HUMANS, because we are in the end the most best example for a cliche race -.- Humans are ever the same, does the a freaking idiot moan about that and perma QQ about it, that we are so cliche ? No, so stop it with the other races, only because in your heads is ever the comparison with WoW or Tolkien - Tolkien is not the creator of fantasy. GW2 can have Elves, which could be similar looking to what we understand under Elves, but then again totally different, but people are so superficially, that they look ever only onto the stupid ears and the tall figure -.-
Due to the factm that are now Dwarves ,Centaurs and some other traditionally creatures/races bond to the lore of the game, there it can also be, that somewhere in tyria will live Elves - ISOLATED, like Elves are- isolated from the rest of the world somewhere, where nothign will disturb them.
WE CAN EXPLORE ONLY LIKE 30% OF THE GAMEWORLD YET, THE OTHER 70% ARE JUST UNEXPLORABLE STUPID FILLER. !!!
That you may never forget, and as long we could not explore the full world, we can't know, what for races will all live in it. Elves could live somewhere in the countless huge areas, that we can't explore yet. but wait.. I forgot, you people have all lost your FANTASY over time >.> how sad ...
However, Anet has stated, that they are planning to introduce later also some more playable races, I hope, when this Day should come, that Anet gets the insight and gives us at least Dwarves !!, because Asuras are a big joke and a terrible bad excuse therefore, that we don't got Dwarves - Asuras will never be able to replace Dwarves in their funny personality and cult status.
When it comes to me, 10 playable Races are more than enough: these could look like this:
-Humans
-Sylvari
-Charr
-Norn
-Asura (hopefully reconcepted, this Race name fits not to these small buggers, it fits much better to Moon Elves)
-Old Asuras replaced by Dwarves, make the old asuras the NPC's and just put them into story alot
-Harpyies (to have a race in the Sky)
-Undines (to have a race in the deep seas)
-Margonites (or somethign new as Demon Race)
-Centaurs
10 Races, which would make together a good mix out of traditional races (with maybe other names) and full unique races and that would fill out especially all 4 environmental areas:
Sea, Underground, Land and Sky

Not sure how much of the "sky" there is to fill out. There may be a vertical axis component in GW2, but I haven't seen much indication there'll be very much "up there", so to speak. That and flying races in combination with non-flying races usually lead to balance issues.
Emphasis mine. I would just like to note that you are a very unusual fellow.

Spells can be targeted at a foe everywhere, be it on the land, or the Sky...
The rest will do ranged weapons (Bows, Kunais/Shurikens,Boomerangs/Chakrams as Throwing Weapons ect.)
Also flying Races are only in plaes in a little advantage, that are big and wide enough to be able to fly.
about the rest, I'm sure, if anet would give us a race, that can fly, that they can give us enough content for the environment, that is up there, stuff like some floating island chains a la Skyes of Arcadia or so, or some huge sky scraper like things, like huge trees what what you can all imagien with enough fantasy for the sky.
I personally would love to see the Sky Tower, with on top of it having the Temple of Dwayna. Once you're on the top ^^, then you can enjoy the wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide view over the whole Tyria, that would be great

Did you seriously just suggest a race that could fly?
I'd only consider it an interesting idea if flying mounts existed in the game and that said race could only fly at the same point in which another race could earn a flying mount.
Also, humans aren't considered "cliche" because we actually exist.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they've done after all we've heard about the game (rumors and such).
Beyond that, I'm looking to a fresh start - where everyone is more or less balanced. I'd like to change some of the mistakes from when I started GW1 (not farming, abusing builds, etc - kind of got into that late).

Just because the level cap is going to be high doesn't mean that you're going to be in certain areas for a while. For example: The level cap in Diablo I & II was pretty high, but they didn't expand for all of the content rather for difficulties. I'd bring in Mass Effect and Oblivion as examples, but I don't think ANet is going to be basing encounters off of character level - although, that would be insanely bad ass.
Usually, a higher level cap allows for a certain type of depth, and that's always awesome to tamper with. It doesn't say that non-high level caps are basic (see: DnD), just that different methods are attained through different means.

being able to solo most of it and going trough some of it with a friend or two.
GW2 FaQ:
Will Guild Wars 2 be solo-able?
Yes. You will be able to advance your character to the maximum level without ever joining a group if you so desire. Most content will be designed in a solo-friendly way, though often with mechanisms for scaling up in difficulty when more players are involved. This will give players the option to experience the game whichever way they prefer.
At the same time, it is important for an MMO community to join together to overcome challenges. There will also be some areas in the game that require a coordinated group effort.

People complaining about all of the above. 200 levels of grinding for 3 months so you'd have a chance to compete against the people who maxed out in a week and are complaining about the low level cap. Listening to people complain about the low level cap. Going through a lot of posts of people arguing over why a low level cap system (20) is a lot better than a high cap system (200). Another shallow crafting system. Dwarves but no elves (there is something seriously wrong with that) And finally, a game that has everyone leave because they are either board or are tired of title grinding. Am I close to what GW2 will be like? |

Though I do like the new Dark Elf/Druchii models from Games Workshop. Go Go Cthulu. Another thing I'm looking forward to: ANet having a new slate to start to try to regain some trust and dignity. Hopefully no RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO-ups similar to Ursan and not having a clue what their doing with or to the game. Also, in depth lore and choices. If I got to write Prophecies, you'd get the choice to fight against the Charr (pushing North) or flee to the West, along the way you'd have more storyline breaks, like in the adventure books. Completing a single line would unlock a mode not too dissimlar from Hard Mode and allow you to try out the other choice lines. Also more character customisation, I'm a visual person. I HATE ELVES!
My teifling warlock will splode his brains and snap his bow across his horns.
I'd also love to see necromancers in not such a dark light. The D2 necro is perfect in my opinion.

1. No more limitations of PvE character development and equipment caused by the need of a perfectly balanced PvP. This opens a whole new world of possibilities!
2. And there's still the balanced competetive PvP which was the main reason I stayed with GW1 for all those years! Yay!
3. Persistent world
4. More freedom of movement/character control. Almost certainly full 3D this time. And a more active combat system.
5. World PvP, real crafting and trading systems, playing as an Asura
... basically all we know right now, can't wait to know more, but even knowing only that I'd preorder it without seeing a single screenshot.

I just thought of something else.
I'm looking forward to new armors and items that aren't reskins, same with pets and things (got so many reskins in GWEN).
The ability to be able to choose between using the same or different character name would be great as well. Some people may want a different character name while some may want to keep their old one, so having a choice would be nice. But if only one can be implemented, I'd prefer having to choose a different name, plus it would make more sense since it's 250 years in the future.

Yes the Charr seem a great remedy against elves...
Hollow Gein
Just gimme a freaking necromancer (or something reasonable similiar) and a the ability to make a bunch of minions and I'll be happy. If I can't get that in GW2, hello Diablo 3.

I'm not, seeing as how we probably won't even get SCREENSHOTS TILL NEXT YEAR. I WAS looking forward to seeing all the classes reintroduced while simutaneously creating races for more combinations, but now I think I'm looking forward to selling my decked out gw1 account when gw2 comes out.

Yes I hate Elves. This does not mean that I will tell anyone, anywhere, that they should not include them in their game or play them. Oh no, Anet's decided to write a flimsy back story to include Elves. It's a bit suspect, but what the hell, it's Anet's decision, if I don't like it, there are other games. Hell, no one's forcing anyone to play a particular race in GW2, why should the mere opinion of other's prevent you from having fun? As long as the game designers want a race in, they can have it. If a player wants to play as that race that's great. If the game designers want to listen to a small group of people without doing proper research on majority opinion (go forth democracy!) then they are idiots.
*shakes fist* Freaking Elves. Bring forth the age of the Lizard!
