I like the thing in general, except OoU. Really, MMs don't have a lot of elites and IMO it was fine the way it was. Oh well. No more ursan groups!

I'm confused - just logged onto my Sin, my SF duration is now 16 seconds not 32 seconds and no mention of any 33% less damage. Then again, it's late, I've been working all day and all that ....

Ahh to dream.... Even if Ursan is not the build in DoA anymore PuGs will STILL require a set of 8 skills that is "THE BUILD". If you think you can put just any build together in DoA and have a pug not kick you your dreaming.

Someone, please, explain to me why this was done. What is ANets thinking behind this, because it doesn't seem to make any sense at all to me. Did people really think that PvE was too hard?
As Kosto pointed out, the buff to the PvE skills has just been at the lower end - meaning, grinding out to max title won't have the huge boosting effect it used to have. But they're still OP as RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO, so those problems still exists. It's a step in the right direction, but it's just that: a step.

As to UB, well, I'm still sorting it out, sorting all of it out. At least (and I use those words lightly) now it's doing it's "intended function", which is setting all the professions equal but in the most lazy and terrible way.

Some of my favourite buffs that made me do a double take...

MASTER OF MAGIC?! LOOK AT IT! PLEASE.
Master of Magic: decreased Energy cost to 5; decreased recharge to 20 seconds. Functionality changed to: "(1..61 seconds.) Your elemental attributes are set to 12 and you gain +0..2 Energy regeneration."
I think I'm gonna make an elementalist JUST for this. I swear. That is so... OMG.
Top it off with some
Elemental Lord: increased duration to 40..60 seconds.
13 in ALL elements with 6 energy regen is pretty damn fine.

"The Power is Yours!": decreased recharge time to 0; decreased Energy cost to 0; increased adrenaline cost to 4 strikes. Functionality changed to: "(3 seconds.) Allies within earshot gain 0..1 Energy regeneration."

This update screams "we are afraid of the players" and "we have no good ideas". It amazes me that the message they have gotten from all the complaining for the last several months is that they need to make PvE skills stronger.

Replacing VoD with permaturtled NPCs and the new flag mechanic means that splitting is history (no point in ganking NPCs now and preventing a boost is very important). Yay new boring 8 flaggers vs. 8 flaggers meta.

This is an awesome update. I mean Onslaught is finally where it should of been since the beginning. Have you guys seen Tease? THat's gonna be off the hook in PvE. Blessings are balanced betweene achother now. Thes also room for people to think of when and where to use it since they can't keep it up indefintley anymore.

Also love the Hero AI changes, there were some things in there that also had me twitiching. Gah, what an update.

No, I don't like this. I see people are happy because ANet buffed every skill under the sun and didn't nerf a single one, but the game didn't need to be made any more easy than it already was.

The problem never was that the game was too hard, so for PvE this update solves nothing. Nothing at all.

They Updated the PvE Version of the skill. They Left the PvP version of shadow form (which you are describing) the same.

I think this update is exactly what GW needed. Instead of nerfing good skills, they decided to buff bad skills. And the PVE skills aren't stronger, they just made it so we don't have to grind as much, which is what GW is supposed to be like. And i think they did a good job with all the elites that they changed up.

Edit: And for the first time that I have seen, more people like the update than dislike it! Keep up the good work, ANet

In retrospect, I'm starting to learn towards this viewpoint.

What they're doing is attempting to solve the problems, but in the Ursan way. No, not through Ursan, I just used a pun.

When attempting to solve PUG and profession "imbalance", instead of making the professions more viable they just made everyone the same. A similar method is shown in this update: In wanting people to use something besides Ursan, they buff everything. Good idea, wrong direction.





All I can say at this point is /sigh.

It will take time to see how OP are some skills , but I think we can all agree that Xinrae's Weapon already needs a nerf.
Also good job with ursan .
@ Numa Pompilius : The mobs also use these , "new" elites , that means their retrospective areas will get harder.
