You would lose to snares from whatever and condition control from a necromancer and/or paragon's pressure control.

Or in other words:

1 warrior, 1 ranger, 1 Necromancer, 2 ritualists.

1 warrior, 1 ranger, 1 necromancer, 1 paragon, 1 ritualist.

1 Warrior, 1 assassin, 1 necromancer, 2 ritualists.

2 Warriors, 1 necromancer, 1 elementalist, 1 ritualist.

Etc.

From what i have seen we have :

- complete bad team : run around without coordination
- bad team : sticking with "stay in a group" paradigm like if was one of 10 commandment and calling noob anyone who don't . (this kind of team still will some streak)
- not bad team: using good strategy, capping the important shrine and delaying a fight until they both have shrine advantage and number.

This without considering team skill

Suggestion: next year make rits and monks suck instead of necros and paragons.

I just had a streak of about 8 games and every single team had at least 3 healers. One was 2 monks/3 rits. That's pretty boring to play against (we had two monks and a rit ourselves...)

Suggestion - don't let PVE characters in, or if you must, overwrite their equipment temporarily with decent weapons. I've just had a ranger duel against a guy using a flatbow - worked for me at the time but it was only through sheer luck that this gimp wasn't on my team. Other common features to see are stormbows, no doubt uncustomized and other such 'prestige' weapons.

<3 costume brawl. Got a few sync teams in this year, got a nice 50 win streak with a pug group in american district (yay for AD not being ideal for syncing). We had 3 rits, me as a monk and a very brave warrior who didn't even know what the skillz title was.

Just making stormbows unequippable in CB would solve 90% of that.

The mesmer works great in CB...until lag hits. But otherwise, I have to agree with someone's earlier assessment that it can deal with every other profession 1v1.

I'm a bit annoyed about Sig of Judgment and Weapon of Warding being the pre-nerf versions. Weapon of Warding being so maintainable makes it annoyingly powerful.

Disagree. Plenty of players have their PvE characters fully decked out for PvP. Also, I've lost count of the number of times I've been able to swap to a flatbow and successfully cripple someone at max range with Melandru's Shot in CB or get a fatal Sloth Hunter's off (or yeah, dshot/savage an unsuspecting ele).

And yeah...whoever put that strat on wiki that everybody should go to the center on that 3-shrine map...all I have to say is: /fistshake

I'm not denying any of that. I have PVE characters that are equipped for just about every conceivable PVP setting. I'm not questioning the value of non recurve bows (although very rarely is there a time when you would want to take a shot with a flatbow in CB over a longbow). What I'm questioning is the amount of tards out there who beleive that they can run around with crap equipment and do just as well as if they used a PVP character. Over the week I've had stupidly large amounts of ranger v ranger duels on a shrine where i've easily won because the other ranger spent ALL their time in either a flatbow (or more frequently a storm bow) and hence couldn't interupt for crap.

The player with the PVE character who is perfectly equipped for PVP and knows how to use it is by far the exception, compared to the player who has a terribly equipped PVE character and wants to use it to show off their weapons.

It was a good week of CB for me. Sure I had a lot of bad teams, but was able to go from a freshly new r4 to a freshly new r5 in the gamer title. I was all CBed out once I got my new rank. Shame it's only once a year; much rather have this than the Wintersday arena coming up, but oh well. I guess I'll play that a bit too for some more points.

So the guy that has to roll a pvp will make all of the sets he needs, and use them correctly... right?

Longbow is usually better extra range crippling, unless you specifically need the arc to shoot over something.

But if you know what the bows do and know enough to swap them, I'm sure you also know enough to tell a player who actually plays ranger from the idiot who uses a storm bow as his default CUZ ITS SHINEY.

Hell, the game itself GIVES you the best all purpose bow type to use even if you don't want to create multiple sets...
