i farm nubs in pvp

edit:
oh and to teh farmers out there that say they like farming...
would u still be doin em if u didnt get any money or rewards from it?
or if missions/quests gave out better money and better rewards than farming, would u rather farm than do missions?

simply put
most ppl dun do farming because they enjoy farming
they farm because they enjoy the rewards
(i say most, not everyone...some ppl actually do enjoy farming for farming)
but the majority farm for the "end" and not the "means"

oh and another thought...
there are those that are actually good at playin this game
and there are those that r good at makin money

farmers/moneymakers get money and nice loot as a reward
skilled players get...what? titles??

thats wut i thought at first
but anet fails at titles...
and so its usually teh farmers/moneymakers that earn titles

so wut good reward is there for actually bein good at this game?
ranks?
farmers can buy that too
gold trim?
farmers can buy that too

so wut hasnt the farmers/moneymakers corrupted in this game?

Remember when Farming used to be called grinding? Whether its gold, titles, items, whatever. The bottom line is if you want to have the things that others dont have, you must be willing to do the things others are not willing to do, such as grinding/farming.

Now the havenots who are willnots look at those who have and do, and shout "unfair" unto the ears of the devs and they take the obamaesque attitude that even though you didnt work for it, you should be able to have it, or the ones who are working for it shall have it taken away.

Whats next? GW taxes? You have to give 20% of all your ectos and plat to those who have less than 250k in storage?

If someone has somehting that you want, DO THE WORK to get it for yourself, instead of crying because you dont have a sin or an ele, or you dont have R10 Norn or a stack of ectos, or whatever you think someone else is doing or has that you find unfair.

If Anet was serious, they would have nerfed the PERMASIN a long time ago. Instead, they take half measures and nerf EC. I still dont understand that.

teh prob is not that its skilled farmer players vs non-skilled players

teh prob is that its skilled farmer players vs skilled non-farmer players

why do u get rewarded for being good at farming?
while those that r good at other aspects of this game get very little in comparison?

anets been tryin to make remedies,
but imo things like titles and zkeys hurt just as much as it helps
because farmers jump all over that crap too and "ruin" it

its like the factory-line worker for a shoe company is makin more money than the person who owns the dam company
does that make sense??

snaek, IMHO, you're looking at this wrong. People who enjoy the game and just play the way they want to, don't care at all about large stacks of gold and getting big title. Translation: They play to enjoy the game and don't give a rat's ass about their imaginative rep.

Usual grinders (not farmers) gain immense satisfaction from reaching their set goals or finishing all goals (people getting all titles, filling HoM). It's all nice but they don't realize the game is spent once they've done it.

Farmers, well, they enjoy hard work for their hard earned gold. Include in random drops and it turns into people who are actually stuck is some kind virtual casino... only they bet their time and gain virtual money/items.

As you see, I didn't mention people who are good/bad. That's simply cause it's debatable. You can be good one day, rubbish another. You can understand one class, but suck at second one. Some people see you as a god, while others see you as incompetent.
If you know you're good, you don't need anyone or anything to prove it to you.

I play....aka quest/mission/farm. I seriously don't see how farming is more boring than those people that move around a mission/quest letting their saabway H/H doing all the work. Yes, I've heard people saying how all pugs suck because they can /dance with H/H and still win >.>, and then proceed to complaining about farmers...

Nowadays, mostly farm HFFF, for title grind and cash. Theory being that I would either max out kurz title or get sick of the game.

After that, do title grinding toward 30 maxed titles. Assuming pvp titles are not maxable, there are 27 titles can realistically be maxed out by "playing" (vanq. (4), cart. (4), skill hunter (4), guard./prot. (7), eotn (5), ss/lb (2), survivor/ascalon (1)). That leaves three more which are either exceedingly time consuming (kurz/lux), require large amounts of items or cash (sweet tooth, party animal, drunkard), or both (treasure hunter, wisdom, lucky, unlucky).

Long ago, I used to enjoy playing in areas like tombs, urgoz's, and doa. Basically, areas which required teamwork among human players. However, these have become a "waste of time", since I began my title grind. After hitting 30, I plan to get into pvp a bit more ...

for those who say that im complaining about farmers, I'm NOT complaining, i made this clear in the OP. what i was after was to see the ratio of farmers to actual players. im not suggesting they remove farming, not at all, rather balance the rewards from farming those of missions and dungeons. If you get 2k for a 2+ hour dungeon vs 10k+ for 15-20 mins of farming, your obviously gonna do the farming, unless you hate farming and/or dont need the money.

there are many players who say they are immune to epeen, i have seen very few players who are. anyone who does wield a max weapon with max mods while that item is of non-rareness, now those i will call without epeen. anyone who wear 1k armor those i will call without epeen. epeen is as much a part of humanity as is our ability to learn better than any other species, yet discovered, on this planet.

By increasing the reward on the missions and dungeons will encourage players to do something other than farming. title grinding is of other matters and they ARE addressing to reduce the title grid.

if you make the rewards fairly equal, those who like to farm can farm and those who like to do mission, dungeons can do that. and persuadu if you think doing a mission/dungeon to get to a certain goal, monetry or otherwise, is not working hard towards that goal, then you need to explain that to me.

True.

Maybe a solution would be to reward people who complete dungeons with unique customized weapons that by their very nature of not being something you could buy or trade would be very prestigious in their own right. The dungeon rewards are really a pittance compared to the time involved.

Anet tried to give non-farmers better rewards with the introduction of dungeon specific end chests. Unfortunately we have a player driven economy which greatly effects how much a reward we can get.

Examples:
The Deep - Dragon Scythe (since inception this item never really hit the big bucks for anyone). Demand wasn't there and The Deep is a ghost town aside from the occasional guild teams.

Wyvern Blade - This item is classified as rare and yet since release it's never been a hot seller either.

Voltaic Spear - Not rare. Easy to farm. Lots of demand as well. People want this and have always been willing to shell out the big bucks for this.

Anyways what I'm trying to get at is Anets tried to improve the rewards for team play without actually handing out free gold. Unfortunately due to our player driven economy some of the things we do in-game just don't seem worthwhile as far as the whole time/reward thing goes. The end result is players feeling disappointed or frustrated and asking for more.

@OP I do both. I can't stick to 1 task for too long. Gets boring nowadays. Variety is the spice of life and GW.

A little of each.

I tend to play for a while..find something I like and go after it...Farm time!
Farming also qualifies as a good aggression release as well as mindless fun :P

Farming is boring for me. I play and make any little excuse to set aside farming for goodies. My one big excuse to avoid farming is AB. PvP is a lot more fun.

Firstly, u can tell when u see someone who has bought an invite into a gold trim guild + the people who have bought titles, but it is really hard to get from r0-7 in HA without weekends, unless you get into high ranked groups, and if u suck after buying that title, then u soon get a reputation in HA and no decent groups will take you.

i farm, Gvg, HA and do missions, i only farm to make cash to buy new weapons/armour, then i gvg/HA for Z keys and titles.

i dont think many people actually farm because of one reason, or farm for one reason, as what is that point of having obsidian armour, eternal blades and BDS's if u only ever farm, and no will will really pay attention to the amount of time you have wasted. i have obsidian armour, but only cos i like to look good in pvp. end of

Anyway...farming is there to be able to afford to get what you want when you want it. If you don't farm, don't whine and cry when you don't get that uber-1337 e-blade or bone dragon staff that someone else has. Don't sit there and scream LUCKY when someone has better stuff than you. They very likely worked their asses off for that swag and they deserve to not be bugged for money/stuff/help. They have no obligation to share their wealth with you or anyone else.
I get tired of walking out in a pug or helping a guildie, them seeing my upper-deck gear/armor and having them say "omg man gimme gimme gimme".
