It won't work for me since the Xunlai House was updated, any chance you can update it?

I reviewed changes and implemented new protocol, but there is one technical issue that needs to be resolved (incompatibility between httpClient tool that aid is build upon encrypthed cookie handling and what server sends), that could take some time to resolve if its bug in client and not my messup.

I really hope it works out... I can't imagine having to dreadfully drag all those little boxes again....

At least they didn't add a Captcha though, that'd be a real pita.

Zwei2stein, I hope you can really fix it! You are probably the best technical producer that can make programs from scratch I know of. I hope you keep up the great work! Because I couldn't for the life of me figure it out if I was instructed right there, even though I'm good with computers

CAPTCHA's aren't that hard to bot and aren't safe so they won't use it :P

Hey my guild is pretty addicted to this program, So I will keep checking here for an update if possible. Just wanted ya to know, this program is more popular than you might of gathered and we appreciate it.

We don't care if it can't vote for us, but the picks are priceless to us. If the program will just pick for us (most of us are tinfoilish and just enter fake info into it and get the picks it generates)...

Could you make it save the predictions as a text document? I know that a lot of people love this program because they have no idea who to vote for.

I loved this little program too. Only used it for two months so far, and don't know what I will do without it! I only get "game time" of a few hours per month, and don't have the time to learn how to read the XTH guild ladders. If this can't be updated, I'll have to resort to the "Random Picks" button in the new XTH. But if it can't be updated, thanks for the hard work on the last one. I really appreciated it!

I have no idea what that means but if you are making a updated version, why not make it a bit more simple and forgot about the login and making the votes, why not just make it predict them and display the predictions, so that the people have to login manually and drag the appropriate candidates into the predictions. So that the use of it would be safe, not that I don't trust you but i'm rather safe then sorry because it now requires you to login with your actual guild wars account so it might be a good idea. This might also reduce the work needed to do, or my idea can just be a temp fix untill you have figured it out how to make it fully functional again.

Anyway, I love your work, used it alot in the past. And I hope to see it again .

Here you go, I'ts working again:

http://gw.zweistein.cz/RewardPointsPredictor_0.31.zip
  • New XTH house API implemented.
  • As result of new API, user must use his Guild Wars account login info which is now used to access XTH instead of now deprecated separate login.
  • Fixed bug where guilds and players with names that contain foreign characters were not properly recognized and voted for.
  • Upgraded to httpClient 4.0 beta 2 and httpCore 4.0

Edit: if you downloaded it withing 30 minutes of posting, you need to download again, package was not made properly.

Is providing the data necessary? I tried running it with the example userinfo, but all I got were errors.

Yes, list of qualified guilds/players now requires login and i need that list to base predictions on.

Can we get a confirmation that this tool is legit and isn't going to send my Username:Password to somebody?

Well, hundreds of people used it before this with no problem, so I'd say zwei2stein is a good guy that we can trust.

That said, I too am a bit hesitant to test it.

If you don't trust zwei2stein by now, the source code is in the package. So download Java SDK and compile it yourself, after inspecting the code ofc. A quick look at it a while ago didn't tell me anything new that the trust that I have in zwei2stein could have hinted.

You should be, that is good security mindset. But you do not have to trust me.

As Fril Estelin wrote, package contains source code which you can examine and see what it does. Then you can throw away prebuild executable and compile & build it yourself. If you do not understand technical mumbo jumbo, you can have friend do that for you or take it as opportunity to learn new stuff.

Argh, I haven't used this in a long time. How do you make it vote for you again?

Do you still have to use the predictor in the cmd prompt and type "predictor -email- -password- -userid-" or it there a new command? Like "predictor -ingame email- -in game password-"

In version 0.3, you put the same information (email, password) in the file users.cfg.

@swei2stein:

I haven't looked at the code but do you think it is possible to update the app so we can provide you with the protected pages that you need. By protected I mean the pages you check with the logon credentials. We could save the html source and then feed it to you application. You parse as normal, do all your prediction queries on the ladder, and then save the restults back to a file.

For you it can be as simple as having extra entries in the cfg files. If the entries are there for the files then skip the part of downloading them yourself.

Do you think it is possible?

I don't want to save logon credentials on a file and will be more than happy if I can feed the files and get the results from your application. I'm pretty sure security consicous paranoids like me will be happy if you made this update.

Thanks!

Btw, great app. I'm not too happy about Anet requiring game logon credentials now :S

I am curious, how come "History Repeats Itself" is not even in the top 8 GvG predictions, but they are ranked 2 last month?

To participate in a monthly AT, your guild must have a certain amount of qualifier points. If a guild isn't showing up yet for voting, it's because they don't have enough qp just yet. Most don't actually, until 1-2 days till the mAT.

Is there any way to add more then 1 account at time, isntead of deleting and changing login data every time?

Something like...

account1 password1
account2 password2
account3 password3

Is this feature supported by the program?

Yes. This is EXACTLY what you do in the users.cfg file.

BTW, I just tried the program with the new XTH site, and it worked like a charm. I will report back if my account gets stolen...

THANKS for updating the program!

But "History Repeats Itself [Cry]" IS available for voting for GvG. Why is it not being selected by Predictor when it is ranked 2 last month?

Is that a bug in the new Predictor?

It is entirely possible that page parsing is a bit off. I shall investigate this.

Its is possible, but it should be much easier for everyone if someone just posted predictions they got from app in here or in specialized thread.

I think i will improve how predictions are presented for extra copy-paste comfort.

i wonder how long until people will start to write trojans which will find your users.cfg file and upload it to a remove server behind your back.

If people want to feel safe, they can simply delete all passwords from users.cfg after voting.

Thanks from Mr. LowOiL here, and my guild thanks you also for the update.

Looking forward for the copy/paste ability too... thank you for your time investment in this of course. It is very appreciated.

Major Salute Sir.
