Long story short...

I form group
1 member sees I didn't bring any "tanks" or hero "tanks".
He claims I will fail
Refuses to listen to reasoning and leaves
Proceeds to PM me saying I suck
So I reply and said, "If I can beat this mission and get masters without a tank does it still imply I suck?".
He gets tongue tied and says he no longer wants to argue with me.
I beat mission in about 15 minutes.
Went back to the outpost I was originally in.
He's still there spamming LFG
I PM him and told him I beat it and got masters while he's still trying to find a group.
He rages and spams me with insults.
I laughed and said, "Your loss".
He goes offline.

i've never really met anyone in pve that was rude. perhaps when only prophecies was out and i was pugging a lot, but not really now.

pvp is full of rude people. every other random battle i play someone cusses their team out because they didn't do so good. because we all know ra is srs business amirite? i just don't see the logic either in someone saying "wtf u guys suck" when they could be offering constructive criticism.

oh, more on topic, i don't have a rudest encounter in particular, just the common pvp jerk.

I love AB mostly because of idiots there.

I mean, there I was happily monking for my team. Even healing some of our allies when I got the chance. Then along comes a hammer warrior and starts beating on me with his giant Mursaat Hammer. Me playing a tiny monkette and getting attacked by a large brute in black obsi wielding a giant hammer, it's only natural that I panic. Not.

A full minute after successfully tanking this particular warrior, along comes his team. I can't just tank 3 people and die 10 seconds later. Hilarity ensues when the warrior zranks my corpse.

There's still a guy to this day if I remove him from my ignore list, I swear he has a bot set up to whisper me talking shit... I've had him on there for like 42 months now...

Famous Big Stick... We'd completely roll teams, and he'd go: "gg, close one... could have went either way" lol... I always thought it was hilarious!

Other than that? I dunno. There's a lot of random jerks, I try to remember the compliments I receive and forget the insults.

I hear ya. The PvP jerks are the main reason I don't do a lot of PvP (also because I enjoy PvE more but still :P). I can't see how calling someone a noob or an idiot or, worst one I've heard that I can remember: 3rd generation inbred muthaf***er, can do the player any good except feeling completely insulted and/or verbally violated. Constructive criticism ftw, meaningless insults ftl.

Hey Mallyx [icU]

I had a ball in AB yesterday.

Europeans tend to be polite and normal so I went to american districts. Oh boy. Three ninjas looking for a monk. I join, ping my bar. Alpha Ninja asks if I'm going to take sprint. At this point I just know it's going to be fun, don't say a thing, replace Spirit Bond with Sprint and ping again. Upon loading, Alpha Ninja is obviously inspecting my outfit. He assumes the worst and asks "Is that a smiting staff you're carrying?" ... Staff being a Ghostly Staff, req healing, I reply with "Does it matter?" He then assumes he was right and starts explaining how that 20% recharge applies to skills of the weapon's attribute. Beta Ninja joins in and backs the Alpha.

Moment later, I find that they have no grasp of things such as irony. Needless to say, I flame them during the whole match.
All that flame fun because of an arrogant assumption that I'm carrying a smiting staff. Fun times.

i can still remember this one little monk-arse that whispered me after a match.
I was using my shattersin in RA and he was using a healing build that apparently didn't work well since he was taken down by another sin at the start of the match.

MONk: you f*cking noob don't f*cking play again!
me: why?
MONK: you are using flurry u stupid f*cking noob gtfo and never join RA again.
me: (no reply)
MONK: stupid retard sin using flurry NEVER use that skill [email protected]!#$@! (and a load of other obscenities)

Flurry is a good IAS for a sin in RA and i don't see why he's so pissed @ that anyways, thats the reason why I stopped RA and switched to AB for the funny sh*t in there and away from the PvP jerks

Doing DD with my necro in NM in a pug:

Warrior in some overdone armor combination ragequits at the first destroyer mob because someone died. Said "GG nubs, have fun failing" or something to that general effect. After he left a couple others left and the team just dissolved. Mind you, one person died because he ran all the way into the mob of destroyers without pre-prot. General pug atmopshere.

Well, I get back to EOTN and whisper the guy asking why he left....he said he can do it faster with H+H, and if I can't then I should uninstall. I told him I prefer playing it with people because that's what I like to do, and he starts going off on me saying I'm a noob, he's got 31 max titles and obsidian on all his characters and I should shut up. This is on my necro which is far from my main character. So I get on my warrior and challenge him to show me his HOM with his 31 max titles, but he skips out of town and starts talking his smack in whisper. Eventually he comes back to the town, I invite him, but he sits there saying he just reported me for verbal abuse. I laughed and said GG, and went on my merry way.

Next day I'm in the outpost after completing DD and ATFH and getting my asuran armor on said necro, and I see this same dude lfg'ing for DD normal mode. Hilarity ensues when I invite myself to his group, he accepts, and I immediately zone into the HOM as he's the leader. When he finally loads, I see all of 2 statues in Honor, and 2 armors. I LOL'd, told him he's a noob and just got owned, then left.

I put him on my FL but he hasn't logged on in a while. He's probably still got me on ignore.

I decide to spend a little time in RA with my ranger. I was using a typical AP/BA build. After a few losses I got a decent team, 1 pew pew ranger, me, a migraine mesmer and a Mo/W. I was doing ok, d-shoted the other monks Guardian and kept d-shoting the warrior's Crushing blow. We win, the monk says something along the lines of "lol that warrior failed". Next game, we win... Third game, we are facing a 2 mesmer, 1 necro and 1 monk team. I get hexed to hell, insidious, empathy, faintheartedness, and some degen crap. The other ranger is also getting hexed. While I am trying to shutdown the VoR mesmer who is harassing our monk. Its really quite hard to d-shot someone who is spaming Distortion every 4 seconds... the monk rages "omg you f****** noobs kill the monk". Obviously we can't, the pew pew is shut down completely and our mesmers Migraine isn't exactly effective again the negligible damage we are inflicting. A minute goes buy as well all degen and the monk flares up again. He starts pinging the enemy monk over and over. Yell that we suck and should "go back to PvE" then simply leaves. I laughed as we wiped. I load into am2 RA and see the same monk spamming in Local that if I am on their team they should leave promptly. I pm him asking him not to spread bull about me, at least I do an effort when I enter RA. He replies telling me that my parents must be retarded and never should have had me as a child, should have killed me and so on. I then /ignore him. Couldn't be bothered to deal with such an idiot. Biggest jerk I ever met in GW.

PS. He had the typical asshat gear... black obby, chaos gloves, voltaic... that sort of thing. I hate to generalize but it seems most of those monks have an over inflated ego.

Just so you know: Verbal abuse is reportable, a screen is all you need.
I don't know why people still flame the hell out of each other... Maybe cause their subconscious tells them to get a break from GW for at least a few days, while they're banned?

I was partying with a monk (I am known as Alpha Ninja btw), I ask if he can sprint. I inspect his outfit and I assumed the worst and just wanted to know if he was using a smithing staff. Turns out it was a ghostly staff, req being healing but he says "does it matter?" I assumed I was right since I didn't know before and explained to him about the 20% recharge. I got so flamed by my mistake. I quited.

generally people are quite nice to me, and if youre nice to the rude people... and theyre still rude... generally your PuG teammates will flame him for you

but what really ticks me off is people who you trade with, then when you say "ty" or "thanks" they respond, "yea" or "np." that person didnt do ME a favor, it was a mutual TRADE. we BOTH benefited. some people just are to egocentric to realize it, i guess.

Not really rude. "You're welcome." is a polite reply to "Thank you.", and their abbreviated replies("yea," "np") are probably meant in that way.

I got a torrent of abuse today while in Kamadan.
Another player decided they wanted my minipet and despite being told several times that it wasnt going to be parted with insisted on harassing.
Apparently I had the audacity of still refusing to hand it over after having them yell at me in all chat and repeatedly open trade with me so I couldnt trade with others.
The situation predictably ended with the player claiming they had 9 of said minipet but had never seen one in trade, que much laughing from the locals and a quick disapearance of the player.

Maybe its me. Everytime I bring out a mini (and theyre not even the really high end ones) I get someone either yelling 'I buy your pet!', 'give this pet free' or '5k for the flying birdy thing!' at me followed by a hissy fit when I say sorry, no.

i would personally see "youre welcome" as rude, even if they didnt mean it to be.
i see "np" and the like as a reply to i did you a favor knowing i wouldnt get anything out of it. like giving someone a tome you dont need.

'You're Welcome' is never meant to be rude. It's considered a nice and appropriate response to 'Thank You.' It's something almost everyone was taught to say as a kid. It's just being polite. I have no idea why anyone would take offense to it, even someone who is overly sensitive. Just a lack of understanding common courtesy I guess.

my 'rudest person' isn't that bad i suppose...
here i am standing in LA selling stuff and this guy 'join's me i thought, great, a sale finally.
so i adds him and asks what he wants and he says 'help' and before i can ask if its gonna take long (i figured it was a newb and i don't mind helping every now and then) he's already traveled zoned us.
turns out it's the LA to Spamadam mission, not too bad, won't take long, and i basically did it for him.
end of mission, we get to spama and he leaves the party.
oh.
i whisper him with a small reprimand about how its nice to say thank-you to ppl who have helped you etc. and he says back 'dude, are you still here, seriously go-away!'
>:S
i will continue to help newbs and hope i get nicer ones in the future.

I notice all right. I notice that not correcting someone who has a misconceived notion about you for the simple pleasure of flaming them is totally leading them on. And trolling. Just for the simple fact that it all could have been avoided if you corrected them before it got heated. But whats the fun in that huh?
Asking someone "Does it Matter if i use a smiting or healing staff?" is more of a stupid question than a rhetorical one simply because the short answer is Yes. It does matter. So that makes 2 words you used out of context, "Irony" and "rhetorical"

It was an obvious troll attempt. Oh, you wanted me to say otherwise. Also, there was no sense of irony at all in that scenario whatsoever. Hypocrisy at best, but no irony.

Well, it's kinda like human nature, that when someone says "thanks", your reply is "you're welcome". If "you're welcome" is a rude reply, then just don't say thanks in the first place? When I am selling, and someone thanks me, my reply is also "thank you"...like someone said, it's mutual...like going to the store. The customer says "thanks", and the seller says "thank you, come again". But I don't see the seller saying "you're welcome" as rude in any way...it's just a natural response to being thanked.

Anyway, to stay on topic, I'll add to my list, those people that whisper relentlessly if I want to join their guild. I was standing around yesterday and got whispered in all caps if I want to join a one-person Kurz guild. I didn't reply right away and he proceeded to whisper the same thing about 12 more times. I finally said "no..." and he proceeded to call me a noob in all caps several times before I ignored him. People that whisper me in general, about wanting to join their guild, really irritate me. If I "needed" a guild I would be in one, lol. If I wanted a guild I would search for one, and it would certainly not be one that recruits randomly in Shing Jea and Ascalon. Granted, I could make a one-person guild to shut them up, but I feel like I shouldn't need to. If I "needed" a guild I would watch the recruitment spammers...

According to Trylo, you're rude if you reply with "np." So I guess you're considered as a rude person.

I honestly don't see what so rude about saying "yw" or "np" after buying something...I find it quite polite really O.o....
Anyway...
I havent met a lot of rude pve players..but pvp, more specifically AB. So many people there think their build is the shit and rage on you if you suggest they change a skill or two, or the whole bar ><. So I've just opted to sitting back and let the bad players be bad, blame their team, and rage quit the match.
It provides lots of lulz though. Especially when people are screaming CAPCAPCAPOMGCAP!!! and there's only one point to cap...yet they still abuse their shift key and yell cap...So, I'm usually the smartass that's like "Psh capping? NOWAI DUN CAP" Then they rage on me. But I asked for it and its lottsa lulz

Also..I dont meet a lot of rude of pve players, because honestly I'm one of them :P
