Rudest people you've met?

Aint that the truth!!! I remember once a newbie guildmate pinged his awesome new ranger build to Alliance chat and asked for comments....

Ranger: HEY GUYZ!!! CHECK OUT MI AWZOME NEW BUILD!!!!!!! <ping above>
Ranger: WAT U THINK? GREAT HUH!!!
Guildie: Um, no elite?
Ranger: ELITEZ SUK. I HATE ELITEZ SNOBS
Me: You might want to drop the monk stuff. Concentrate on being a ranger.
Me: You're spread too thin.
Ranger: U SUK!!!! U DONT NO NOTHING. HEALS KEEP ME ALIVE!!! NOOB!!!!
Me: oops, sorry, Never mind. I'll just go back to vanquishing then.

<five minutes later>

Ranger: CAN SUMEONE DO MINSTER CHO MISION 4ME??? THIS GAME TO HARD!!!!!!

I'd fall off my chair with laughter, but it's split in two from smacking my friend with it.

I love threads like this, not in a condescending way, they make me laugh cause i'm not the only one having trouble with morons. Some of the arguments I see in LA while trying to sell things are beyond belief loool

It has been for some time now. Rude people can't handle politeness.

Ah, yes. I absolutely love them. Especially the monks.

A few months ago, there I was in Kamadan Am1 selling my Kuunavang. Someone whispers "I pay 100k" to which I politely respond "no thanks, that's a pretty low offer". Then he calls me a noob for not knowing the prices. To prove his point of me being noob, he runs up to me, starts flaming my "Protector of Tyria" title as noob, my tatoo armor as noob crap. He's a male monk wearing black obsi with a ninja mask and displaying r4 KOABD. He then ranks a bambi in my face.

Made me lol irl I almost spilled my coffee. The rage continues as I start equipping my obsi armor, display GWAMM and rank a wolf. He stopped right there.

No one asked for your scrubby opinion.

Let's see. The founder of LotU, my former guild got me kicked from an alliance once because of some serious flaming to the founder of the leading guild.
I knew his reputation so wasn't too surprised.

Later I received complaints about a member of mine being rude in AC.
Well, let's say that the things he used to say in GC were a lot more offensive than the things in AC.

But what's rude?
If I'm direct and speak my mind it's considered rude, but when I overload someone with flowers and gifts to crush them under the weight of it they will thank me....
People are strange....

I've got kicked from GoE for asking another person to use a Firefox/Opera spellcheck or at least TRY to write correctly on forum. Other person said that he concurs, it's hard to understand the guy.

And boom, officer without consulting ANYONE kicked me out of guild while I was offline on my holiday. Dunno why exactly, I think it's because I dared to point out his friend's poor grammar and writing "something" as "sumtin".

Well abe you got back in next time you got online lol, and then left for your own reasons..

Well as soon as there is lying involved such as the 50 Shiro thingy then it is a scam. And scamming is illegal here too I just didn't want to bring that to debate with people who think it is not :P

Having played since GW began, I think there are waaay to many occurences of rudeness to place down here. Even within Guilds and Alliances I have been in, there have still been people that feel it is their right to be as rude to people as possible.

I think the one that sticks out in my mind is one that happened recently. And, of course, it involved PUGS.

My girlfriend and I decided to PUG FoW as monks. Yes, it could be argued you only have yourselves to blame for this, but we do FoW as we enjoy it.
We get through 3/4 of it with minimal fuss and get into the burning forest.

Now, not giving details out, my lovely girl has to go afk as life decided to get in the way. No probs with me, since it was a permasin group anyway and one monk can breeze it as long as the group pay attention. Well, they decided not too, a few people died and the fun began.

I explained that our monk was afk at the start of the forest but no, wasn't acceptable. Within 10 minutes, she was being accused of leeching the end chest. I defend, explaining the situation and 3 people in particular got really, really abusive to both of us over it. All while we are still getting through FoW and no-one is dying. Some very extreme stuff was then said when my girl returned, to which was upsetting. Cue many reports, the 3 others quitting because of the insults (though supporting us monks saying it wasnt a problem). And we left.

People seem to forget a lot of the time that this is game, nothing more. We all play this to escape.

I found throughout many FPS clans,communities and guilds that this is quite rarely the case.People come home from work in a bad mood and decide to log into vent/ts or a game and proceed to give some random person hell for x minutes for no reason.Nothing from real life can be escaped in a game,take for example the McCain /Obama election,the amount of crap that dug up (no doubt from kids not even old enough to vote) was pretty pathetic.

I know I can be a complete ass,I'm not exempt or perfect.I hate my job and try very hard to not bring that to games,sometimes it doesn't work

And that noise you hear is the hearts of many a guru gamer breaking all over the world. WTF Upier? You been holding out on us.

As for the rudest thing...I was in an UW SC pug about an hour ago. Pits terra dies in chamber claiming lag, goes afk for 20 mins (even after we used a rez scroll on his nub ass), comes back and he's like "OMG you guys STILL arent done? Noobs!" (while we were doing HIS area last), then raged on us.

I'm kinda still scratching my head about that...

Indeed, point taken. Sometimes it can be very difficult to seperate real life and the fantasy world that is Guild Wars. Its ok if someone needs a short burst of anger to get it over with. That I can handle, since we all do it really.

But to have vitriol aimed at both of us that time was quite frankly unacceptable. And there is no excuse in my eyes for it.

I dislike 'people' who :

- like to ping for like 5 minutes op maps
- think drawing pictures of cows or other things is fun
- agro half the map and die and then DEMAND to get ressurected ...

Oh yes i was on a ranger and had no elite skill yet and joined a pug what doing the dragons lair.

He asked to ping my build ... so i pinged it and said i don't have any elites yet and He went off a ramble that i'm a noob not using elite skills and that i never be able to do the mission without it .

So me with my big mouth said : i don't elites ... i AM elite lol ;-p (it was ovious a joke no?)

Right after he kicked me off, so i h/h the mission with bonus and i send the guy a message see i h/h it with bonus and no elite so i AM elite lol (again it was a joke and also to show u don't need elite skills to end missions/campains)

What came after that was a waterfall of insults from him and his guildmembers .

Ok it was wrong sending him that message but at the time i just wanted revenge for kicking me off .

Rudest people ive met:
1. Call me a noob and other ugly names in all chat and pm's just because i killed them in alliance battle.
2. When i offer to buy something for a reasonable price, i get called a noob and a scammer
3. show off their eilte armor and gear in pvp, thinking they are awesome, not realizing that the rest of us are just as rich or richer then they are, but prefer playing on pvp characters.
4. run into a huge mob when i ask for them to say close for heals, then blame me for not being able to keep them from dieing.
5. think they are awesome because they can find builds on pvxwiki and manage to run them
6. scribble on the minimap, thinking they are funny, causing the rest of the team to become uncoordinated

I don't think it was wrong sending him that message lol. He was judging you because you didn't have any elite skill yet and even insulted you because of it. He was obviously living in an illusion so telling him that you COULD do it without an elite is not just rubbing it in his face but also trying to get him out of the illusion XD Of course if you send it as an INSULT then it would have been wrong but you actually send it as a nice little joke ^^

Being a game suggests there is a winner, and by inverse, a loser. People like to win the games they play.
