Syncing in Snowball Arenas

It is tough enough to try to have fun in this mini game when you have to deal with 3 random strangers which most of the time have no clue what's going on, now you in add in the fact that you're going against teams that are synced and uses vent and etc.

How is this RANDOM? Why is this even tolerated? So I gotta deal with bad players and you don't? So you want me to sync too? Sorry but just because everyone's cheating doesn't mean I have to too, and I don't think it's working as intended.

Nobody cares. Either don't play, synch yourself or deal with it.

exactly, i knew this from all along, a-net made this as intended. You need to cheat to even have fun on the only fun (relatively) event on the wintersday.

Lol... i like how he blacked out half of it, but left their names in the picture. And y is it tolerated... because its difficult to fix. I know in RA i have been partied with a guildy through pure luck. Finally where does it say that syncing is cheating?

If it's hard to fix, like leechers or verbal abuse, then add an option in /report so people can report. Heck, even scamming became an option.

And you get into a party with guildy by chance, but this is clearly not a chance sync.

And syncing is cheating because it's not the merit of the game, you would've learn that in elementary school, and hopefully life (if you have one). If you want to play team arena, go play in tournament, they made one up for snowball for a reason.

I don't have any experience with programming games, but I'm guessing a simple if-statement should be able to take care of this.

If it goes against the original designers intention, which I'm pretty sure off, it can be considered a bug. Abusing a bug, also known as exploiting, is against the Rules of Conduct.

Edit: On that same note, it imbalances the game and spoils the fun for the other party. If you want to play with your mates, do some TA/AB/HA/GvG instead.

if i am not mistaken, this thread will be close soon, Yay thread not closed! at least stay open so Arena Net's representative can see that this problem is growing and that more and more players are getting annoyed/diadvantaged by inconsiderate players

hrmz, this is new, and yay if its true, someone says Ms Regina says that the problem is being looked into. on Ms Regina's talk page here

send Arena Net your screenshots too if and when you encounter a sync group, players has been saying its not easy to sync, where infact its very easy, near to 99% success sync rate if your the only 4 players on deserted servers.

Lets see off the top of my head, how hard would it be to make timer wait until the next round to reset if you cancel during the countdown.

Not cheating, hmm lets see. 2-4 people going to a Random arena to abuse a game mechanic so they are put together and therefore not a Random team. I you cannot grasp how that is cheating, please uninstall the internet immediately.

Finally to Mr. Patrick, with all due respect. The abuse of every aspect of PVP has been in full force for over a year now. from RA syncing, to Alliance ladder manipulation, to Champ point farming, to HA manipulation that would take to long to explain, and the list goes on. Your response shown in this thread shows the complete disconnect you and your team have had with your game for along time

Will you flame me if I get a team of experienced players randomly?

Teams are going to be of varying skill in any random setting. I have difficulty getting upset that teams with no physical advantage that happen to play better are being formed, sync or not.

I doubt this issue will be addressed any more than it is in RA - unless both get a change.

The counter works like a giant list, so if they all cancelled during one countdown, the next countdown they would all be right next to eachother on this 'list' and the sync teams would be even better. nice thought though.

Never thought of that jiggles, but it gave me a new thought off the top of my head.

"Shuffle" at the beginning of timer, or just not let you start the timer until next round.

I would report them and send a screenshot. If they're a guild why don't they go play in the organized one? Syncing is griefing and exploiting.

I also saw a bot in SA last night. It basically followed my movement around the map everywhere and used its skills. I think it was a bot because if it wasn't it was shadowing me pretty accurately for a human. I asked them to say something and they didn't. :/

It sucks that people cheat to get the gamer title, which they definitely do as I saw people with extremely high ranks the first time it was available within days. At least I get mine by actually playing and got the monument a long time ago.

If you don't like the area because people sync? Go play somewhere else? lol? lolgw?

I agree with this quote. Nobody cares, and enemies don't have any game play advantage over you, other than that they are with their friends. Stop complaining and get some actual skills, n00b

I'm amazed we got ten days into the event before this complaint reared its ugly head again.

It's like RAs. People are going to sync, because the devs let them. There's absolutely nothing you can do about it except improve your skill level to the point that you can beat sync teams if you get a decent group.

Syncers can be beaten with better play. Just because they sync doesn't mean they're the best players in the arena.

Pretty sure being able to communicate with vent is a pretty big advantage...

Though, I suppose you could just give your random team your vent info and hope you actually have a team with vent + mic, and that they're actually willing to get on your vent server.

Though, I still think syncing is even less of an issue in snowball than it is even in RA.
