The male warrior dance still disturbs me. Like when you're standing in town, selling and minding your own business and a male Warrior stands behind you and spams /dance so it looks like he's humping you... Freaky people
I saw your username and was like "Wait, wha...?" i didnt know ANYONE in our alliance used guru, let alone the leader. and as for your male warrior comment, why d'ya think i made a female warrior, huh?

On topic, Male, with:

Kiragi, Male Ranger (Main)
Akkhina, Female Warrior
Yukina, Female Assassin
Mirahne, Female Dervish
Kigai, Male Elementalist
Kiraito, Male Necromancer (wait, i deleted him and made a female necro. nevermind.)
Mitsagi, Female Ranger (Perma-Pre Character)
Mitsuka, Male Monk (PvP Only)

So i guess im 3:5, i guess i just like the female armor art, dances, and such.

I cant stand the people who make stupid comments about Males who play Females. its a GAME people, must we all be EXACTLY the same as we are IRL? yes, female elementalists have large... shall we say....... "assets", but grow up. if that amuses you, please, go back to elementary school. if youre not there already.

I'm male with a mix of both genders.

Warrior: Male
Ranger: Male
Mesmer: Male
Monk: Male
Necro: Female
Ele: Female
Sin: Male
Rit: Female
Derv: Female
Para: Male

That puts me at what, 6:4. The majority of my characters are male.

My manly characters (Warrior, Monk, Paragon) are males. My pussies are women (Mesmer, Ele, and a female Warrior that I stupidly allowed a significant other make, followed by a breakup. Now I won't delete that Warrior because it has a bunch of customized r7s.)

My warrior was made a while ago but never posted... I don't feel I can take female Guild Wars warriors seriously. Has to be male or I can't. It's not about stereotypes, it's because the Guild Wars female warrior's character model is simply to skinny, weak-looking, and generally unsuited to close physical combat and such. (And let's not talk about "speed and agility is better for combat," there are Assassins for that; that's not what the Warrior is about. Warriors are about hitting enemies extremely hard, taking a lot of hits, and shouting "SAVE YOURSELVES!" at the top of their lungs.)

Well, I'm male and I've got 12 characters. In order of creation date:

Assassin, female
Warrior, male
Ele, female
Mesmer, female
Monk, female
Necro, female
Ranger, female
Paragon, female
Dervish, female
Ritualist, female
Warrior2, female
Mesmer2, male.

I believe my friend put it best when he said: "If I'm going to be staring at something for hundreds of hours, it might as well be something that's easy on the eyes." And speaking for myself, I find the female form alot easier on the eyes then the male. I nearly made my first warrior female as well, but I tossed a coin. The rest, well, yeah, much nicer looking then the male avatars.

Oh, and for the record I find most of the dances disturbing and rarely use them, especially my eles. Seems a little too vulgar for me.

I'm a male with all male characters mainly because i really don't mind the armors for the classes i play and for some of them i think it looks great, also i have played females in other MMO's and the whole random guy coming up and asking if you will be his girlfriend is just a bit much for me to handle

Female, but my main is male on both accounts.

Acct 1:
- Dervish, male (main)
- Dervish, female (made because the EotN armor looked better for females and I was used to the build already)
- Elementalist, male
- Ranger, male
- Monk, male
- Ritualist, male
- Paragon, male
- Warrior, female (original main until NF)

Acct 2:
- Necromancer, male (main)
- Ranger, male
- Warrior, male
- Assassin, male
- Elementalist, female
- Dervish, male
- Paragon, female
- 1 undecided ;P

I also think it's interesting to compare the appearance of my toons.

All have dark hair except my rangers who both have grey hair and my male ele who has orange hair. The majority have the palest skin available, the dervishes have a moderate tan and my necro is the darkest available in factions. IRL I've got dark hair and very pale skin.

I just like the character designs and armours, there's no other reason as gender has no affect on gameplay whatsoever

Unwarranted implication, it could still be that 95% of the people who actually care about the looks of their monkey armor are female.

Another thing, since there are four main facets to the issue, namely physiological gender (what you find in the trousers), gender identity (which gender you find yourself internally), sociological gender (which gender style of behaviour is more natural to you) and sexual orientation (which gender(s) you feel attracted to) and all possible combinations of those four can be found, then why are you asking about 'plumbing' since it has the least relevance to the choice of a virtual representation of oneself? Depending on which facet an individual stresses when choosing the gender of the avatar, the outcome will be different:

Players who stress physiological gender are likely to make characters of the same physiological gender as themselves. Most young people belong to this group because their other facets haven't matured yet.

Players who stress gender identity are likely to make characters of the same physiological gender as their gender identity. The player still has characters of just one gender but there's no relation between the physiological gender of the characters and the player.

Players who stress sociological gender will have both male and female characters according to how masculine/feminine a role they find the character having.

Players who stress sexual orientation tend to make characters of opposite gender (the old 'shapely bottom' argument).

Ya... um I still don't get this. The characters are just animated models, its not like you zoom in on their rear end. When you are walking behind some guy in public, do you turn around because his behind might be in your peripheral vision? Chances are no. I kinda doubt staring a an animated girls behind is that great anyway, considering its not even real...

So basically what you're saying is, whenever you play a female character, you stare at their behinds for long periods of time? Usually when I play GW, I concentrate on the enemies/missions, not my characters ass. Strange.

Therein lies your answer. GW character is never, ever in your peripheral vision but in the dead center of the screen. Ofcourse they are just animated models and it's that animation itself that's one of the deciding factors. It's just way more pleasing to my eye to watch a female silhouette and female movements.

Also, there is the physchological aspect of making a woman (even a pixel-based one) listen to and obey your every command and generally do your bidding.

i'm male, with all 10 characters male as well. i've made a concious effort to make my characters look as much like me as possible. (aside from the necromancer. all choices were ugly, so i just made him look like a walking corpse)

to me, part of playing an RPG is the ability to immerse myself into it. if i'm spending my time looking at T&A, well, i'm cheerful enough about it, but it's harder to maintain the illusion that it's a facet of myself....

My main character is a female ranger,
also have:
female PvP Ranger,
male Monk
male PvP Monk
male Perma-Pre Ranger
male PvP Assasin
Other 2 slots are open

So why do I play a female ranger most of the time; cause female characters hold their bow horizontaly, which is way cooler than vertically.

I'm sure it's been mentioned numerous times but I refuse to spec 11 pages of mind-numbing response just to QFT one for my own mind-numbing response.

In any event, I'm a male with female characters simply because I believe the female character models appeal to me more. And its not a sexual appeal PIXELZ LOL, the male character models and armor are just... horrible, save for one or two.

Additionally, I also make all my characters the lowest possible height requirement. I just enjoy the thought of a fragile little lady ramboing mobs and dropping them to their knees, averse to the very typical and if you asked me, cliche, STRONGMAN alternative. End of story.

I agree...there's some appeal to a tiny lady wielding massive power.

I personally have 2 males (W, R) and 3 females (N, Rt, D).
