Another week, another hunt. He's been in Prophecies so long, any guesses that he'll be in EoTN this week? He hasn't been there since the beginning of August.
|
He hasn't been to EotN since June 14, actually, when he visited Varajar Fells. I would agree that he's overdue for a visit there.
[edit] Curses! I got ninja'd and my prediction got shot down.
Skiasca
Yeh Confirmed - on the cusp between the scar and skyward.
Oh and b3n - Blank out your name

Crystal Of Winter
Not so bad this week then.
Also, why do we need to blank names out?

Per Guild Wiki:
"A good area to farm for these lies in the northeast region of Prophet's Path (right after you use the teleport) when taking the northwest path toward Seeker's Passage. This also happens to be right next to Salt Flats for easy zoning respawn. Coincidentally, on the way to the teleporter are a handful of minotaurs good for Minotaur Horn farming."
Edit: Piece of cake! Easy to get up to the teleporter with a spirit spammer. Go NW out of Augury Rock, you should see it on the map. On the other end of the teleporter, lots of easy targets for the spirits. Got six shriveled eyes in the first batch, zoned to Salt Flats, zoned back in, got the last four without even killing them all. Actually getting up to the turn in point is harder than collecting the eyes!

Your only required to block out other people's names, not your own if you want to give it out.

I farmed them with a spirit spammer ranger. In the NW corner of the salt flats, thereas a couple of big groups of them near a portal. Kill, zone, zone, kill. repeat. Easy peasy.
Fay Vert
Touch Ranger works very well (spirit spam gets very boring)
Hobbs
Used Spirit Spam for the first time ever on a Nick. On my warrior.
Xiaquin
Dusted off the dervish and took a Vow of Silence. I'm not a big melee person but it was a fun farm.

Two shards for a gift, yes. Check the screen to see the way (from Bone Palace). Even if you are not german skilled, you should make it

drat.... I turned 10 of those in for the quest reward yesterday.
EPO Bot
Dam it! Those take forever to farm. Especially since big clusters of those stones are nowhere to find.
Fay Vert
Two clusters south of Morah, rince repeat, took about 30 mins and you can get the bounty for them.

Nother option...
Use SW exit from The Mouth of Torment into The Ruptured Heart & turn right.
You will see 5 Craven Monoliths, but don't attack immediately, wait 20-30 seconds for a group of Margonites to pass the CMs, and dispatch Margonites first. Then kill the 5 CMs.
Little bit further you get 2 CMs, then there is a group of 5 CMs next to a group of Margonites that you can pull & kill.
There will be 2 more CMs to the left at run's end next to some giants that you can pull & kill.
I went Rit 2nd, SoS NM... 7 to 8 minutes average run time.

I find it easier to farm in the Temple of Monoliths (in the southernmost point of Sulfurous Wastes).
It takes no time at all to get there with minimal fighting. On a good run you can avoid all but 1 group on your way there. Once you get to the location, there is a little over 2 dozen Monoliths that you can kill.
Not that this method requires a party of at least 3 to do correctly, but the drop rate is still favorable.

If this were a REAL role-playing game, I could...
"Hey there, Nic! You know, farming these things is a %$#@! Now, wouldn't it be a shame if your friend found out you were cheating on your bet? Uh-huh... that's what I thought. I'll just take these five gifts; I'll be too busy opening them to talk to your drinking buddy. Oh -- and make sure these are the GOOD presents, if you know what I mean..."
(Yes, I got my 5 gifts, but only because I already had seven of the blasted things in storage.)

Yes...it is a shame that old Nick is using us to cheat on his bet. But I'm sure Durmand will think something is up when Nick shows up with all 5 million shards that players have collectively given him.
KingCrab
So where is he hanging out this week?
Maria Murtor
KingCrab
Tricky to solo. Easy in groups, but then the drops are few.
RedDog91
I'm not entirely sure but I could swear he collected these already. I firmly remember farming these for something a few months ago, and the only thing I can think of would be for gifts.
But, I could always be wrong...

Skree wings? omg I had a big problem farming these for the moa chick this weekend. Killed over 500 to get 2 :/
wilebill
Well, I had 169 skree wings in storage. One of the things I collect for no good reason now that the nesting material market went flop. The recommended farms are:
1. Forum Highlands explorable area, with Desperate Measures quest active.
2. Wilderness of Bahdza explorable area, with Destroy the Harpies quest active.
3. The southern end of Resplendent Makuun explorable area, anytime.
4. The western end of Holdings of Chokhin explorable area, anytime.
I have found #3 and #4 easy and best. Just go in normal mode with a full group, heroes and hench. You should average one or two wings per run in either area if you clear all the groups and have been good.

Divine Ashes
The Forum Highlands area with Desperate Measures active I think is the best. There's very close grouping, but nothing that can't be handled. Easily cleared with a player + spiritway heroes.
BTW the nesting materials market is better than ever now that people are anxious to get that unique mini in their HoM.

Those things simply REFUSE to drop for me.
Maybe i skip this week.

The southern end of Resplendent Makuun explorable area
Did around 12 runs and then I got 15 of them.
Took very long time!
But this was also a nice area for my treasure hunter

Should be an interesting market for this sort of thing at the moment as theres quite a few people needing them as part of the miniature moa chick scavanger hunt.
