Spiked crest was one of those items that HAD to appear at some point because it was the only trophy left in that particular area.

Those three groups at the beginning of the mission are giving around 2-4 pieces per run. Easy week.

Got 7 spiked crests on first and 5 on second 5 on third , fast, flagged heros off screen once i got to the run. Solo'd as a w.mo no more then 3 at a time.

I have not been very lucky with the crests. only got 3 in about 15 runs outside Sanctum. Am trying Drake on a Plain quest but have only gotten 2 in 5 runs. I'm not sure that quest is any better than the rinse and repeat outside Sanctum. Just not my day I guess.

Drops aren't too bad considering how little the number of foes you kill per run.

my drop rate is 7 5 5 2 4 2 4 6 5 guess where takes 20min each run take heros but once you get to drakes flag off screen soloing is easy can do 4 at at time theres about 22 there. all the hints im giving but its the best

The south of gates of kryta mission has a lot of these, just load up with heros to blast through to this area and park them to farm. There are about 24 there and a further 6 in the estury where the mission bonus is.
I got 4 in each of two runs, you could easily get all 5 in one run.

was wondering when you guys figured out Gates the old Drake run the first few months of the game the first spot nerfed my count there is 7 5 5 2 4 2 4 6 5 6 6 8 6 7 6 5 6 7 there are 25 drakes oh forgot a white and black dye too thats 100 some in 5.5hrs of farming

Incidentally, I just solo'd every drake in GoK and got zip. Thank you, law of averages - I should be due 10 next run, right?

I farmed the drakes on the beach (solo) in Sanctum Cay. About 1-2 crests per run.

the last 2 farms i only got 3 3 so maybe they are dropping to more people on the average since more know about the spot but its alot better then Sancum ever wasy. But i would think you would get alot on the next one i was doing it as a W/MO
i was using a simple farm skills= Cyclone axe whirlwind Furious axe Light of Deldrimor Healing Hands Vig spirit Great Dwarfen Armor and Bonnitti defence using 11hp 7= strength
16axe 2 tactic i have a very nice 7str shield of +45 -2 / enchanted axe was 20/20 +15% and enchantments last 20% longer. but im sure any build will do, that that is a true solo so not sure what your using.

Wow not one out of the 25 drakes dropped a crest like i mention my last 2 was 3,3 but i did another after your 0 message and got 6. so go figure. I use to do that run the first 2-3 months of the game 6yrs ago, that was the spot to do, groups where leaving every 5min to do the drake run, the drops were great and the chests were free and i think there was about 5(chests) no keys needed, great items in them until they nerfed it. That was the first nerf in the game the start of many disappointment nerfs lol. Let me know how you make out others seem to get an average of 5 per run.

I would not reccomend it on a melee char. They usualy come in pairs, either with a warrior or a necro jotun. Or if you're really lucky, 3 mesmers.

It's a pretty quick farm with SoS. 12 minutes a run, and I did 2 runs. Got 5 pelts each run, + 500g. So, pretty good farming spot!
On top of that, Jotun Pelts are Wintersday items and can be traded in for Rainbow CCs. Yeah, I DEFINITELY need to farm here more often!

Used SoS on my warrior to pull it off for the fun of it, heh. Got mine and my friend's in about 30 minutes, was taking it slow and talking the entire time. Very easy farm, high five to the guy above

Wow never knew SoS was so easy on these jotun rascals. Took me a measly 10 minutes to farm them and it netted me a couple of golds aswell.
Didnt get anything grand from the gifts though just some sugary delights and sparklers.

Did like 5 runs so far (route that someone posted several posts above), and have only 6/15 so far. On a brighter note, got minor vigor, rune of attunement and blessed insignia while doing it so can't say I'm not satisfied, I just hate groups of 3/4 and mesmers.

did 1 run with a sos rit 7 pelts drop, did 1 run with my ele/rit sos 5 drops all solo in nm. So maby i'm lucky or maby the drop rate isn't so bad
