Oh, thank goodness. After last week, I read "Sentient Lodestones" and thought Ancient Lodestones; had a mild post-traumatic stress episode.
These are totally doable (spirit spam works for me -- just gotta drag the spirits out of the sandstorms). Pogahn in to Dejarin seems the most painless. There are some groups scattered along the top of Arkjok Ward going out of the Sanctuary, but I don't think you get any extra groups. Probably not worth the hassle.

After farming for around 2 hours and getting none I decided i'd do one last run, if I got any on that run i'd continue farming, if not i'd give up for the week. The last two Crags on the run both dropped one. Huzzah!

^^ No, the birds in Jaya Bluffs drop Feathered Crests, the birds in Sunqua Vale drop Feathered Scalps

Yeah, you got to farm the few Sensali in the mountain in Sunqua. There aren't too many, but the scalps drop fairly ok.

Think people should be aware of scams this week. Also I killed all birds up there and got exactly 3 each run so was short farm.

The baddie that spawns there during the Festival quest probably ate Nick & The Professor. Don't worry, he'll be there without that quest being active.

Best place I find to farm them is Reed Bog.
They spawn randomly, walk off the trails and they spawn much easier.

The Wilds does indeed seem much more profitable a farm. However, some groups roam (and spawn) dangerously close. May want to be careful your first few runs until you figure our their paths. They may be level 12, but when you got 15 of them using Vampric Touch, it can be pretty painful.

The Wilds is definitely the way to go. Got 11 my first run, so it works very well.

I just took Armor of Unfeeling intead of Painfull Bond, and EBSin with me....it's like im fighting lv 0....

I got mine in Sage Lands, just outside the Wilds outpost. There's two groups of scarabs popping nearby the first group of wind riders, another two groups down the left path (before the wine bridge and the other Rider group) and one or two groups down the right path (usually together with or nearby the spider popups in those bamboo clumps).
Each group has 3 scarabs, you can go through 12-18 of them in ~3 minutes. Or you can rezone and farm just the first two groups.
Map attached, the popup locations are only approximations but will give you an idea.
I used an Assassin, covered my enchantments with Shadow Form until I got rid of the riders, the scarabs themselves were not a problem outside the rare occasion that I got two groups right on top of the riders at the same time. But can be cleared out after the res.
