An alliance memeber shared his hunting spot with me. Just go to Mordock Crevace in NF and enter the mission. There are lots of Mandragor's in the very first area to kill. I took 3 heroes do deal with the group of Corsairs at the first of the mission then flagged them away and use Spirit Spammer to deal with the Mandragors.

did 3 runs outside yohlan haven or w/e its called on my perma and got 20 roots and 3 stones..gg. too bad its not like 4 months ago it'd be worth something

I really think it's a lot of luck but my system is after I exit Yohlan I go left and up the hill and attack the first group of baboons, then I start my mandragor hunting and never attack anything else again. I always try to kill those big ones last as that seems to be when I get the good drops of stones. Stay away from the named one and do all the hill near the rez shrine then go around the big hill to your left and do all of those. Most stones I ever got that last run. I was impressed. It was a w/rit if that has anything to do with anything. Doubt it but anyway thas what I got all mine with and sold for 2.5k each at the torment. )
sorry but I really had to belly laugh over ^ as it was too funny after I got 8 on my run. ) I guess I got mine and yours both hahaha sorry sold them already and spent the money. )

I think some of you are exaggerating what is dropping. I spent a couple of hours last night in Arkjok Ward = nada. Then today, I spent 3-4 hours running through Arjok over and over again and came up with 4...a nice Guildie gave me the 5th one.
Yes, I tried the above-named areas in the desolation yesterday morning and afternoon.
This, IMHO, has been the worst drop rate since Nicholas started pimping us in April.

Did Arkjok on a solo build and was only getting 1-2 a run with one unusual 3. Moddok was my first pick but it's a less target rich environment. Wound up doing x5 to help guild out and never saw these extraordinary numbers. Roots were probably something like 4:1, I didn't bother to keep track. Personally I still think Sapphire Djinn Essence was a more troublesome farm but this week is up there.

I did the Gate of Desolation farm. Took 3 runs to get 5 stones. Ran solo Ranger SpiritSpammer and just killed the one group. No wurms.

Hmm the droprate might have to do with how you farm.
Did Arjok ward in NM, as monk with spiritspam build, killed them group by group (rather slow) and I walked around the center area so you get all mandragor groups.
Result: 9 stones and 16 or so roots

It is all still luck but that link I posted always helps me when I give up trying my own way of farming nicks stuff.
It's also updated each week too for what nick wants.
Just try yourself and your own way first then if nothing seams to work go check out that link
I'm sure it does help some people and takes away some of the frustration away
especially if you have more than 1 account.

Worked for me I had 6 in 30 min.
Took a few minutes to figure the wurm out again. (have not used one in awhile) Equip a sword and shield and hit warriors if they spawn then blast the necro ones from affar and run up and hit them with a close attack. Elementalists are easy blast or close. Don't forget to consume a corps for an added attack skill. And watch the Aggro circle there are wanderers in the area.

I took my Spirit Spamming ranger to Arkjok Ward and solo'd all the Mandragors - got zero stones. I then did exactly the same with my Spirit Spamming Rit and got 5 stones first run, clearing all Mandragors. Somewhat encouraged by that I went out again with my Rit and got 5 stones from the first 6 groups of Mandragors. Strange turn of luck, but nice.

I found the ratio around 5:1 for roots:stones. 2-4 stones per 15 minute run, so not terrible drop rate...

On another fansite, I made a statement about Arena Net adjusting the drop rates periodically when Nicholas is involved...i.e....cheating. Regina popped up and replied in the thread that it wasn't so...but after I and others complained about the scarcity of drops, about 24 hours later, the drops were raining like cats and dogs.
Does Arena Net adjust drop rates for Nicholas? I still think so.

Dunno about that... the first 5 things I ever got from Nic were 2x ales, aged ales, 2x honeycomb. They've then continued as pretty much like that, bar a VDS from about 3 weeks ago, the only uncommon thing I've received so far.
