Concept Art for GW2

Taken From The new Guild Wars 2 Trailer:
===============================
The 'exploding baddie' at the end of the trailer is definitely a Charr. These 'fiery charr' are probably his lackies. Perhaps one of the Charr fractions split off and made a pact with the surviving Titans? Making them super badass? I'm excited.

Well, the link explains Snow Battle, where are the others from?
Thanks for posting, BTW.

Wow, I've waited for these for so long that now that they are here...meh.
Have you seen NATAL (and Milo) and Sony's equivalent? WII just became obsolete. Hope they develop new games that utilize that technology as soon as possible.

Looks promising. I would really like that cold raw athmosphere in GW2, at least in winter areas. That's not easy to do though, as it shouldn't get grey and boring fast.
EDIT: Is it official, are they all 3 concept art from GW2?

Wow, all the whining and complaining, from hundreds of people. Then the concept art comes along...and four people post about it.
Sad.
All in all though, those pictures are awesome, especially the Druid one.

Thanks for post mate, little more hope added

As interesting as this is that we finally see something concrete about gw2, its hard to reconcile this concept art with the fact that GW2 will supposedly have much better graphics and a different "feel." (something I hadn't considered until I saw them)
With that understanding, I get the impression that this concept art is the equivalent of the "mole hills" concept art we saw from GW1 that wasn't actually used.
And I'm somewhat annoyed by the stereotypical white, dark-haired male warrior character. But I do think its neat that in "snow battle" he looks similar to Sauron lol.
This ain't WoW, its pronounced Sylvari

I wasn't speaking of the sylvari, I was speaking of the big green Druid that takes up more that half the image.

Yet the Wii is the only system with motion controls being used properly. (See Wii Sports, Metroid, and Red Steel 2.)

I hope that knights armor makes it into the game. That's awesome!

Thank you damkel for posting! May I ask where you found these?
BTW, I noticed the first one was labeled "2009druidw.png" but aren't the druids of GW1 non-corporeal?

You also missed another image from the cited thread, the Construction Site (1st image at http://www.intothepixel.com/artwork/...st_winners.asp).
Note that while the image caption says only 'Guild Wars', Regina did hint (in a not-so-subtle, but NDA observing way) that it's GW2.

Watch out that you don't get Wiiitis

Oh, sorry. Yes, I noticed your post, and to me it seems that some people in that thread just thought it looked Kaineng-ish, following up on Regina's question. Also, you can click on the icon to get the full-sized version, and then you can see the background skyscrapers which kinda make the point moot.

Concept art != screenshot.
I think that's the main issue. I'm not complaining. I'm actually indifferent.

we all know concept art is indeed that, a concept and an inspiration for the art direction. the end product may vaguely resemble it, but we all know the game is never going to look like that.
fenix
I think the main reason no one cares is because...well...look at the GW concept art. Then look at GW.
There's your answer.

the druid is a beast! can i have one as a pet =) i hope that the armor in gw2 is as elaborate as the armor in the concept art =) i like elaborate armor =D

Here's a bigger picture (and I mean big, long loading time). you can see them in the small picture too, but this one is clearer, so, are those modern city scape in the background?
Hanging Man

Thanks for that link, yes that is rather strange. That does seem a little too modern to be GW2. I wonder if GW2 will have visions of the future (maybe chronomancers make an appearance?)
|
What are they constructing on the construction yard? Space ship?
Indeed Pumpkin pie, it looks like a modern city in the distance.
Gun Pierson
The longer I look at that bigger picture of the construction yard, the more high tech stuff I notice.
There seems to be people working in the thing (where you see the teal lights, laser cutters? One man standing at a workbench?) At that part you also see lights in the ceiling. Also one big pillar a little more to the left has the typical modern construction colours painted on, orange and black stripes.
Regina can you confirm if this is GW2 concept art or not? Tx!

In passing, here's what I've found too:
Pics that Kekai and other Anet artteam members show in the ImagineFX magazine (#44, June 2009): There's a very nice Char on page 41, a Water Djinn/Margonite with four arms on page 44, the 2 IntoThePixel winners plus other nice pics (one looking like a City of Ascalon? one from Utopia IIRC, a very nice lady with an eagle, a futuristic city?) on page 52-53, a centaur on page 63.
(I can't find them on the Net and won't scan them for risk of infringing Copyrights)
Also these pictures which are also on deviantart
EDIT: nice finds pumpkin!

Are they ever going to sell prints of any Guild Wars concept art? I have a thing for fantasy art, and wouldn't mind framing a few in my gaming room.
Arduin
True, Concept Art isn't the same as a Screenshot, but I can still drool over these ones. Keep them coming!
Especially like the Storm Lord.

The snow battle image reminds me of Icewind Dale artwork, which brings back good memories.

First image: Sylvari version of Abbadon crossed with a Kurzick Juggernaut?
This is what happens when you let kids take care of your plants.
The filename says DRUID ... oh... shall this be the 2009/10 version of the Maguuma Druids?
Second image: Seems to be a knight, champion, hero, whatever. I have this "Lancelot" image in mind when I see him. Darker armor gives him a sinister touch.
But do you see the statue/monument head in the background? Looks again quite Abaddonish, is it maybe Dhuum/Menzies? Finally victorious or so?
Third image: Norns? Or some kind of Yeti?
Pumpkin pie's one image indeed looks like an "ebon hawk" (or well, more ivory...^^), so it is most likely indeed the fortress Ebonhawke. Especially as the filename says "Ebonhawke"...
Any more pics floating around?
