Favourite profession and why.
VendingMachine
PvE - Paragon I love being support without all the burden of being a monk.
PvP - Mesmer because I love annoying other people.

Necro is my first love. Being in control of Death is fun. I really enjoy playing an MM. I also have a lot of fun with the Curses line.
But I've been getting a lot of enjoyment out of my Mesmer and Assassin lately.
Mesmers have sexy armor and Illusion magic is sweet.
Sins because I love the chaining Dagger attacks playstyle.

ranger, then necro.
the utility of the ranger appeals to me greatly. damage, or interrupts, beastmaster, condition spreading, toucher, whatever. the sheer flexibility is awesome.
the necro appeals to the other side - ss, mm, various blood based vampire builds, sabway (of course) and the general experience all rock, for me.

Ritualist. I like healers with a dark edge.

Warrior: Damage, Survivability and Utility all in one nice package.
Oogball
All i see is ranger this ranger than... Where the hell are all the eles?
Hyper.nl
My favourite is the Elementalist. Powerful spells, attacking at range, targeting multiple enemies at once and using powerful enchantments to survive. (PvE & CM)
No, not for PvP arena's. My experience there doesn't go much further than "I'm casting *click*" and "I'm echanted with ... oh nevermind."

Fallen SeraphiM
warrior - even if i play with all other classes fine, war is my main char, what to say - nice armor, long range of weapons, great skills, hard to master but its worth it
cosyfiep
rit...they can do lots of damage, they can heal...and they look cool.
AmbientMelody
Elementalist. Despite being a support, not main damage class by definition, it still dishes out more than enough damage in pve and pvp. Great range of builds, high percentage of useful skills.
Ryan Bucek
My favorite prof is a Ranger.
I find that causing status effects like poisoning and crippling is more important then doing big damage. Using disrupting skills makes me feel important when it comes to big bosses and enemies like the all powerful Rotscale.
I don't like to be the center of attention when it comes to fighting in pve or pvp. I like to stay out of the way and shoot from a distance and support more then doing big damage.

PvE: Monk, I do love to just let the idiots in pugs die when they annoy me. "Whoops, was that your hp being low for like 5 minutes and you finally died cause of poison which I could've removed in a split second? Gosh, I didnt notice" I'm a good monk but if I get offended I'll make your playtime a hell. ;-)
PvP: Mesmer, I'm a pure sadist in pvp. I render all the necroes in JQ, interrupts the monk to oblivion in FA, hunts down all the eles in AB and simply makes the sins lifes in RA a shredding mess. I'm not into the damage dealing thing, I just want to make other peoples life a playing hell.

Scary
PvE, Necro by far.
I love the possibillities of a necro, many skills have a option to support others for a seccond profession, so the choice to take a differnt sec. prof. with necromancer is very wide.
For example this is a build I love to use in PvE with a sec prof ranger.

Just fun to do.
And so there are many builds, SR keeps us in buisness

Tied between mesmer and assassin ^^ mesmers got all sorts of tricky was to spoil the day of a fellow player also fastcasting= YEA.

Lol, i do get killed a lot by rangers when i do JQ..... stupid interrupts..... I HATE INTERRUPTS
Vindalan Mathios
My primary is a ranger, and that's always typically my favorite class in these sort of games. But elementalist, mesmer, assassin and paragon are all great, too. I love my ele's Obsidian Armor and setting things on fire. I love how my assassin looks, and I really like the golden wings on my paragon when he chants. And everyone already knows why mesmers are great.
Ghost Omel
WaRRIOR OFCOURSE...
I mean honestl.. the most realiostc class in GW.. No super duper powers -_-
Damage + armor+interupts+conditions+survivability+utility+f un+sexy+hunky...i win right?

I like playing ranged caster types that deal damage, so for me, the favorite has been, and still remains, the elementalist. I like the versatlity that the different elements provide. A lot of people dislike them due to the damage reduction they face against higher armor and higher level foes in HM, but I find that just makes things more interesting. For example, I enjoy playing water magic in HM where it starts to really shine if you know what you're doing and setup the right build.
After ele, my next favorite is mesmer. It's fun shutting down enemies, especially with interrupts. I also like that their damage ignores armor, making them that much more useful in HM. A lot of people seem to dismiss mesmers in PvE, but if you know how to play one effectively, they can totally pwn PvE with the right build.
And then there is the ritualist. Even before the recent spirit update, I considered this my 3rd most favorite class in the game. Since that update, it's making a strong case for being #2. Builds with SoS or GM are very, very powerful.
Almost making the cut is the necro. A lot of people love them, but I find them a bit too simple and boring. If I want to hex foes, I'd rather use a mesmer. If I want to make an army, I'd rather use a rit. The blood line used to be intriguing, but ANet nerfed it a long time ago.

Ritualist FTW! Great style and fantastic gameplay. I love the outside-the-box design of the skills and builds. The most stylish characters are Rits; there's just something about those headwraps...
The only complaint I have about them is the /dance is very meh. Except for males.
Second favorite would have to be Paragon. Unlike most others, I don't think Imbagon is a dirty word and think that Paras are a blast to play. I like the armors too, but only for females; they are very good for combining, which I love doing.

Crash Override
My favorite would definitely have to be my Ranger, no question about it. Quite versatile, extremely survivable, and just downright fun to play. Nothing beats Dazing and then degen-ing target spellcasters to death. The amount of conditional pressure they can put on an enemy team makes them a key in PvP, too. Expertise also has to be one of the best primaries in the game, in my opinion.
Seraphim Angel
Paragon for sure! A great paragon player can make a bad team look good. In a 8 man party they have the best e-management in the game. They can also do the following things.
1. Make a Monks job even more boring.
2. Increase the DPS of the entire party and allies.
3. Unstirpable damage reduction/blocking.
4. Increase the movement of ALL members.
5. In some cases you only need to take 1 monk in a 8 man party.
6. Can inflict daze better then any class.
7. 2nd best armor in the game.
All these things can be done at the SAME time!
Paragons ROCK!!!!

Voodoo Rage
I vote Necromancer. Armor bypassing damage is HUGE in HM and against highly armored foes. Soul Reaping is absolutely insane energy management too, allowing you play with nearly any secondary class. They just look wicked too.

Funny you should say that...over the weekend I was playing Dragon Arena with my Ritualist, and in the arena area there were a bunch of people dancing around sans armor. I decided "hey, why not, it's amusing"...seriously? Female naked Ritualist dance? A stripper pole would not be out of place at all. I cracked the hell up.
ExoO
I don't know what my favorite class is !! I cant stick to one character .... but monk would be good, because they can run a lot...by that I mean EotN mostly, and are kinda wanted to heal.

Mesmer. Wait can we swear here? Guess I'll censor it to be safe lol. I love ----ing with people. POWER BLOCK.
Ritualist too because they are so versatile, and I really like placing spirits.
I am very sure I'd like Paragon a lot too but till they get a PvP update I haven't tried them since I don't want to be stuck playing 1 build all the time.

Monk for a few reasons....
1) active rather than passive gameplay - requires constant focus (in harder areas at least) - more fun.
2) is very rewarding - a good monk is appreciated
3) fits my personality
4) generally easy to find a PUG.
5) by paying attention to everybody on the field, I get to learn a lot more about the game than when I'm playing other professions

hmm... 10 chars, play them all really. concept wise it would be a tie between Rt and Derv.
Dervish: scythe... haha that's all you needed to say for me. avatars are really fun to play with (transform into balthazar you say? O.o yes please!). but when it comes down to it, */D owns D/* any day, which is kind of disappointing in game. still though, made my derv, ran him through all campaigns, fow armor, everything. now he sits in the backseat asking "are we there yet?" all the time. NO not until they buff you! a scythe wielding holy warrior needs to be better than what they have him as atm. imo
Rit: pve update made my rit a blast to play with. me 2 hero rits and a necro = amazing versatility in hm pve with tons of damage. concept-wise, being able to summon spirits/increase weapon effects/spike damage/and be able to run Rt/* with pretty good efficiency is my thing. elite kurz armor is [email protected] as well ^_^

The Black Mumba
I like every core profession, but i vote for necro, warriors and rangers: the most versatile classes are the best.
The Scorpion Knight
Warrior, enjoy the swords and shields, with the up close action. kind of like a Knight.
HawkofStorms
Ele. Plenty of energy to be able to spec into anything. Can run all sorts of gimmicks and support builds. KDs, blindness, etc
Love it.
Love it.
Mad Lord of Milk
Warrior

YunSooJin
It gets me going when I rush into a large group of HM monsters with my warrior and I don't die. I even wet myself a little. God I'm so good at this game.
Darth The Xx
Kinda sad how nobody seems to like monk. But by far my most favourite class is MONK!!! nothing quite compares to keeping your whole team alive and knowing the other dude is raging behind his keyboard because he can't kill anything.
draxynnic
Mesmer. It's a style of magic I tend to gravitate towards whenever it's available, and I tend to lean towards disruption over big damage even when playing other professions - although getting big damage as well as disruption is even better!
After disruption, I tend to gravitate towards melee-magic combinations - there's something about diving into the middle of a bunch of mobs and then blasting them all.

payne
this....also because my ranger was the first character I made it past post-ascalon with...without getting 60DP everytime I left the outpost
alternatively - the best profession is the wammo < not technically a profession but judging by its usage numbers in RA i'm sure it is a profession these days

Ranger. Trapping ftw. Plus they're interrupting-poison-bleeding-crippling-ganking-sniping-annoying pain in the asses. I used to love eles, but rangers are less conspicuous and way way more annoying.
They're summed up in this quote: It's the enemy you underestimate who kills you.

My favorite would be Mesmer, i play em both pvp and pve
Gigashadow
Probably split equally between Mesmer (I love blue Magic decks) and Warrior (for when I feel like smashing things myself, rather than just enabling others to do so).
