All this news make me feel somewhat joyous, and I could certainly use that right now.
I hope by the time the beta is out, I will have built a cheap($400USD), but powerful enough to max out GW on max resolution with AAx4.
Anyone besides me worried they'll need a new PC to fully enjoy the beauty that is to come? :O
I personally would rather not play GW2 at all than play it at low resolution and everything on low. I just love the scenery. Silly, I know

I agree, but that wasnt the point of the post. And I know blizzard has loads of cash, its in my post. I was just replying to the folks comparing GW2 to DNF. They could have used either of the 2 blizzard games I mentioned and it would have made a better argument, on their part.

In response to your question, I can agree that euros need love to but it would seem to make more sense to announce it at something like PAX being that they are based in Bellevue, Washington.

Factions World Championship and Nightfall Preview were also done at Leipzig (which became Gamescom in Cologne), so this is not the first time they've done this.

@Nightow Logic kinda makes sense-ish. Thing is with all these shows being broadcast on the net there's very few local shows anymore. I was suprised they chose gamescom, but then its just before PAX so I guess its a "why not" thing.

The second he posted that, the clock started ticking. If something jaw dropping doesn't happen within EXACTLY 7 days to the nanosecond from when he posted that message, GW2 will be universally deemed an epic failure/vaperware by the hardcore community.
Rule #1 for dealing with hardcore fans: Never, EVER give an exact (or anything that can be misconstrued or exaggerated as exact) time frame or date for ANYTHING.
Even if you're 100% sure you'll make the date, simply saying "very soon" is infinitely safer, because it prevents the insatiable hype machine that will build and build to a point where absolutely anything you show will be universally deemed an epic failure by the hardcore community.
