But i dont remember in King Arthur any lances, i remembrr horseback with a sword and roman gladius... but thats about it no lances =)..

Overall, your off-the-shelf sword and magic fantasy is almost completely infatuated with a romantized version of the medieval Europe and local mythology of that particular area. On the contrary, ANet has consciously strayed away from that with oriental, african and meso-american influences. I trust that they aren't going back to stock material in the next installment either.

I didn't say I wasn't happy. I'm just not going to become overjoyed over a logo made in Flash. This is nothing more than we already had. When they actually do put out new info, then I may get excited about it (depending on the quality of information).
It's nice that they may open up. But they haven't yet, and I refuse to count my chickens before they hatch. |

They said that they were going to give information soon (instead of the usually BS of no info or "sit tight, you'll know sometime" - so it is something to get decently excited about).
|
What if the information is "Woo hoo! You'll be able to play a Sylvari and a Norn and a Charr! And fight dragons! Won't that be fun?"
Sorry, still not falling into the exciting category.
They've been very hesitant to say definitive things, on pretty much any subject. "There are no plans for a hairdresser" and such. So they can go back and alter things whenever they want, or if it doesn't happen, stick by the "well we said there were no plans for it" attitude. But I'm sorry to say that everything I've heard from ArenaNet has had this same cautious, vague stance. The fear of saying anything concrete because things may change later has dominated everything that's been given to us regarding their plans.
If ArenaNet changes and actually gives solid information, then maybe I'll be excited. Given their track record, though... meh. I'm not holding my breath.
I find it quite "interesting", that ArenaNet is starting/beginning to show infos, a few days after one of its co-founders left. I know, he was not involved in the daily development of GW2, but I would say it's rather obvious, that they are releasing infromations now, that "tensions are running high". Personally, I think it's an emergency solution, or more precisely "a last resort", to keep those players, who would leave soon, because of the lack of content in GW1 and/or the lack of information about GW2. Although, it's pretty good that they've changed their mind, and this will make almost everyone happy and hopeful. I've "ressurected" my hope and excitement about the game too.

USK, the German ratings board, had posted they approved a Guild Wars 2 trailer for Gamescom for ages 6+.
The reference was soon pulled, so there was nothing to talk about until the Website and O'Brien's post.

Ever heard about urban fantasy? Or Shadowrun?
As far as i am concerned, when I hear dragons, I think corporation CEOs, US presidents and legal issues. |
Dragons automatically brings pictures of knights, princesses and castles in the mind of people. (and Shrek maybe too...)
I'm hoping GW2 will set a new landmark in the fantasy world, like Dragonlance did in the 90s. Epic Dragons surrounded by flying armies, with dozens of group of adventurers attacking it, hoping to slow it down on its path of utter destruction. Giant fireball out of the Dragon's mouth flying towards the King's castle, destroying it. The Level 50 paladin then sticking his legendary holy sword in the Dragon's eyes... cut, now your turn to play ...
Exciting times indeed Mike O'brien, exciting times...
