Tide to Go
The forum is getting really boring, i guess because we will have facts about guild wars 4 soon so i will start this, to get the flame back up alittle (not in a bad way) inspired by someones post in another thread
You know the polar bear in the wintersday quest? Do you think they put it in the quest to test it and see if its all up and rdy to be a pet?

Cow Tale
no they probably figured a polar bear went with the snow theme.

In Ice Caves of Sorrow, there was a Powder Keg Station with a banner next to Elennia's prison. The banner shows a Symbol that I saw again in The Temple of The Six Gods in Nightfall campaign. So does this means the Mursaats are working FOR Abaddon?
Teh Monkeys
Post a picture of the symbol.
Sophitia Leafblade
I thought the symsbol in iron mines was the White Mantle symbol? and i dont think that shows up in the Chantry (as far as i know)
Arkantos
The Vizer was for Abaddon, and the Mursaat were against the Vizer, so I don't think that the Mursaat are allies with Abaddon.

I dotn knwo whether any of you are Dune fans liek me but Guild Wars really reminded me of it. For one thign the crystal desert was awesoem and really reminded me of dune with massive sand worms and all and how it was fairly dangerous. I have heard for three missions in Nightfall or Factions you get to be a massive sand worm becayuse oyu have to go over a desert that humans cant survive on. I dont know about you but that sounds awesome to me and I cant wait to do it. Also the whoel Nightfall campagin is based i nthe desert. Thats all the similarities I can think of at the moment but I am sure there is more I ahvnt thoguht of. I bet will these similarities atleast one person in arena net has read the dune series and is a dune fan. Anyway all they need to do now is create a fre-man suit for each class and that owuld be awesome.

As much as we all think that GW toped it’s self with the final outing (Nightfall) in antagonist which was Abbadon. I think the next step is not to make the next villain grander, but instead much more personal. Sure we dealt with people/gods who murdered vast lands and people (including some of the PC friends), but most of it felt a bit cliché. Moreover the easy way to deal with this problem is too simply to make more villains, just to stand in the way of the PC goals. As much as I would love to contradict myself by saying, “stick in Dhuum and Menzies in and have them duke it out; to try and kill the PC,” I am not. The next villain has to be cunning and overall a different feel to what he/she/it can accomplish.
What do I mean by personal? I mean put the PC’s emotions and physical state on the line, not just the surrounding environment around him/her. If anything I have learned from the GW universe is this, “the twists are way too predictable.” I have been somewhat dissatisfied by the way things turn out for the PC vs. his/her antagonists.
Some people are looking forward to seeing what the stone summit god, might mean to the overall GW story arch. However this actually might turn out to be a bad thing. If anyone remembers The Elder Scrolls III: Morowind, they had a storyline similar to this.
I would love to see a villain akin to something which, I have had in the works for sometime. This person loathe's the notions of gods and magic’s (an atheist if will). His motives drive’s him in using certain methods in killing everyone around him; not because they necessary disagrees with his ideology, but is a threat to his beliefs in what might come to pass. One of his ways of dispatching do-gooders in his way, is to draw the line between good & evil. So then the person can see his way through whatever deceit he conveys over the PC, and gives the ultimate choice in killings one self or to be killed for not understanding. In the end I have him die a horrible death because his goals leads to his own demise, which he thought he could alter.
I know this all seems to be a suggestion to what needs to be done with storyline. However I want to ask you guys whether or not the villains of GW have been enticing or "yesterday’s news"? My favorite one out of them all was Abbadon, even though it felt like he was a bit overplayed to the end (I blame this on Varesh). Also I would like to ask you if we need a villain we can really hate/love, as well as be more engrossing in nature?

In the end of Prophecies, the Titans were released, that island is a volcano, all we saw is burning Titans, but during the Titan quests we saw frost titans(leading by a burning titan boss) and rotten titans, and they were also from ring of fire lands. I was thinking, maybe the titans are not fire or frost or any other elements like and they don't have a true body, they just can use the elements(fire frost, wood) from the environment to build a body for them.
Tide to Go
this has ben discussed
Im guessing since lich controled some, they are uw spirits
Scepter of Orr can command spirites from uw
so that means lich took out a whole bunch, and then molded them in certian bodys....

they're default body is probably like the Titan Abominations, and then they adapt to their environment

The titans are created in the foundry of failed creations by use of spirits captured and imprisoned by the margonites and demons. They are twisted to become evil. in spirit form, they look like what you saw escaping the door of khomalie, just BEFORE they took on tripod form. They are made into monsters, and adopt the most dominant aspect of their surroundings- ice for the shiverpeaks, fire for the ring of fire.
the titan abomination isn't their default form, the spiritey-ghostey form is. Titan abominations are just the forms they adopt for the realm of torment. hope that cleared things up

Due to his shape, he may not be human before got transformed by Abaddon. And he has the power to command the first Margonite Jadoth. I am interested about his background, is there any information about him?
Nilator
Well, he looks like one of the Tusked Howlers/Hunters. That's all that I can say being no where near him.

The history of Orr intrigues me and i would like to come up with some speculations for the following questions:
How was Orr controlled (was it a monarchy, republic etc.)?
How exactly was Orr destroyed?
Where did the Orrians come from?
What did Orr look like?
Could the collapse of Orr be prevented?
How were the orrian relations with ascalon and kryta etc.?
Orr was an ancient empire which once ruled over a portion of Tyria on a peninsula to the South of Ascalon and to the west of the Crystal Desert. Orr was home to the city of the gods, Arah. This city was once inhabited by the gods Balthazar, Dwayna and Melandru while they shaped Tyria.
After the Searing the Charr forces marched south to Orr and quickly overwhelmed its armies. We are told that the empire was destroyed when the king's personal advisor, Vizier Khilbron, used powerful magic to defeat the invading Charr forces, magic that caused a devastating explosion which killed the attacking Charr, but also destroyed the city of Arah, and most of the surrounding peninsula. This event is referred to as The Cataclysm.
The Cataclysm caused most of Orr to sink to the bottom of the Bay of Sirens (which - after this event - was renamed Sea of Sorrows). The parts that are above sea level are charred and barren, and haunted by the undead.
Much of this story might have been relayed by Vizier Khilbron himself, one of the few survivors of the disaster, and might not be an accurate account.
Questing in the Realm of Torment reveals that a demonic agent of Abaddon, the demon Razakel in the human form of Terick, tricked Vizier Khilbron into using the destructive arcane spell as Abaddon wished Arah destroyed. Other quests also explain that the Charr invasion and the searing were all created by servants of Abaddon as justification for Vizier Khilbron to read the spell.
This also reveals that Abbaddon was already making plans in the days of the Charr invasion!
(but thats another story)
I'd appreciate it if u keep to to speculating about the questions i gave other than that feel free to speak yor mind thx.

So, playing GW:EN you will sure notice what are the preferred meal of charr...
Since chaar clearly dont involve themself on high diplomat talk about prisoner, dont make their prisoner work as slave, etc....
How we can explain why they keep gwen or the ascalonian prisoner we see in some earlier chap 1 mission for so much time?
Why they didnt become much needed fertilizer for ascalon soil?

Because Charr generally seem to like tormenting things as much as they enjoy killing them?
CrowRbot
Why didn't they eat Gwen? Well, do you eat piglets or prefer to wait until the piglets grow up into pigs to eat them?
As for the Ascalon warrior, maybe they kept him because he was rather starved and they hoped to fatten him up on those roots before eating him.
In all seriousness, it's probably because Anet wanted a quest to rescue prisoners in Ascalon, and they wanted to introduce Gwen as a character all along- they just waited until the last part of GW1 to do so. It was convenient for them to keep certain groups alive, and Anet could probably suggest any number of reasons why they were not immediately consumed. They could have been possible sacrifices to the Titans/Destroyers, kept as food for the troops later, or sent up to higher levels of the Charr military or Shaman caste for dessert. Who knows? Maybe the Charr hoped to domesticate humans much as we have domesticated cattle, and so they kept a fair number of humans to raise for meat.

They run human farms up there somewhere.
Apparently Humans breed well in captivity.

Is there anything in the lore about the runes you see to the east of the Runes of Sameria. There is the huge fire cracks in the ravine as well as the remains of the wall, many structures fallen down and what looks to be the remains of a city foundation.

I failed at vanquishing the area today and the area never looked so wrecked although beautifully at the same time. I suppose I never paid too much attention to it.
In any case, anyone got a suggestion on how to take out two Crawl monks.. they are giving me grief, I can vanquish the rest of the fronter without any problems.

I guess it could be the Tombs of Drascir, Ascalon's entrance to the rift. Other than that, who knows, we've only been told about a select few ascalonian cities, and we've visited most of the ones they've told us about.
As for the two monks, I found that a Mesmer (hero) with shatter enchantment, another enchantment removal, and some interrupts is pretty amazing versus them. Also against the Charr's Shield of Judgment. The rest of my team was formed from me, a high DPS Ranger, a WoH monk hero and an SF ele hero.

Basic Armor
Armor Crafter
Best armor in GW can only be said of function,i.e. armor rating. Depending on which profession there is max armor level for each profession and an armor crafter that can craft it. Max armor can be crafted in prices from 1000g per piece + crafting material(called 1k armor) up to most prestige armor at 8000-15000g/piece + crafting material(called 15k armor). This depends on the profession. Now keep in mind that some materials required to craft armor can be very expensive. Plus the armor may require alot of that material to craft it. For example; Obsidian armor requires 105 to 120 globs of ectoplasm to craft for all 5 pieces. Depending on the market 1 glob of ectoplasm will go from 4000g to 5500g. But remember this. Max armor is max armor. No matter if one purchased the 1k max armor or the 15k max armor, it performs just the same with no added benefit. But the more expensive "prestige armor" looks better than the less expensive version. It's all about one's personal taste really.
Weapons are also similar. There is a range of damage on weapons with a max set for each kind. And max weapons can be gotten for free from collectors throughout all of Guild Wars. And compared to the very rare gold ones the perform no different. The difference between the 2 weapons is nothing more than "looks" or "skin"

Skills, Consumables, keys, and really thats it. Upgrading your heros can count but that goes along with armor and weapons.

This thread is for discussing small time topics of Guild Wars 2 and the Guild Wars Books. If a single topic gains 10+ posts only to that topic, I shall put it into a "Discussion of <topic>" thread of its own.
So if you have a small topic or discussion, just post here (and any new threads made that would fit here will just get merged).
Happy discussion!

Clearly, the Djinn are elemental servants of the Ancient Dragons that have been loose since the Dragons went into hibernation. Some have gone wild, viciously attacking any that threaten their freedom, while others drift about listlessly seeking a new master... while still others may continue to blindly follow the last instructions given to them by their creators.

They are spirits with deep ties to nature (in Elona) and naturally reside in areas of high spiritual concentration. Eventually powerful wizards may bind some to a location to guard said location. Most places we see large djinn groups are situated near ruins and treasures (that is, those in Vabbi) which implies that they were bound to said areas. The biggest group and thus biggest binding of djinn is of course the Merchant Princes' vault and safe-house: The Hidden City of Ahdashim.
