idk bout your karmic chance and participating, but i've done 150 runs without a single afk run. with a ranger, that's 5 mins from start to chest. and yeah, i doubt my results were any better.

I get bored when it comes to farming, I don't have half the determination as Reformed did. Especially counting every fail mpb run would hurt mentally.

Wow i never felt so watched. That site is kinda freaky but never seen it and will come in handy in the future i think.

Im on 312 runs this wintersday no drop yet. But i wasted a lot of money on a ded one but it was worth it. Now im doing the runs for fun and im more liking it now the pressure is off.

The way I think of it is, the chest has nothing in it until I open in, that means it's impossible for it to be on the next run, there can only ever be one on the run i'm on. That way, once i've opened the chest I have no compulsion to go again.

Also, though i'm poor, my HoM is nearly full and I have all the alcohol I need to fill my HoM and get GWAMM so I have no need for more money, so it could be I just have no motivation to farm it.

Ok now i'm just wondering how many runs everyone did the 2010 Wintersday for not getting one? Or maybe be a lucky one.

in only did 483 runs this winterday. Previous years i did double the runs but now i only did a few runs a day this year so i could do other things to.

At the start of the event we got 3 posts of people getting one. After that we had no posts on guru about a drop. That was weird.

I slacked off this year, 165 runs (Total runs across all years is maybe 1500). The mini has once again eluded me.

I figure this year was my last chance to get one... I think GW2 will be out before there is another Wintersday, and after that I doubt I'll still be playing GW1.

I did 1k runs at the start of the event then slacked off, maybe 100 towards the end of the event and didn't even smell bear poop.

Thankfully no redux this year!!!
I was over 3k runs in normal wintersday and again in redux last year with no bear sightings.

A friend of mine and I have been comparing notes on this since last year.

My run total from last year and this year: 334 runs.

His total from last year added to this year: 618 runs.

Result: NO BLANKITY BLANKITY BLANK BLANK POLAR BEAR!!!

whew! I feel better. Anyway, if I hadn't actually seen them in game I'd think they were a myth, like the Terror Shield.

Very few people seemed to be going for the bear this year, compared to previous years.

only did about a dozen or so runs (mostly for the ccshards)...yeah no bear for me either.

and with the HoM rewards--why would you want to waste time on a gold mini? (just wait until the canthan new year for a gold celestial instead)

To sell and buy obby/vabbian/kurz/lux armor, r3 zaishen, 50 minis? I'd say the waste of time is exactly because of the HoM rewards

instead of doing trillion runs for stupid polar bear with 0.0001% drop chance you could do DoA and get much more ecto to buy 2 or more polar bears! I done 40+ runs too, and I won't waste my time anymore.

Exactly 400 runs this year. Probably close to 1,000 - 1,200 runs overall, didn't do too many last year, but a crap load the year before. Not even any bear fur left from a shedding bear. But I make over 400k off the candy cane shards that I sold. Plus quite a bit from the other goodies. I could care less about the alcohol title, so that is pure profit for me. The mini would have been nice though. I would not have sold it if I did get it.

there are easier and quicker ways to earn the cash that are more guaranteed than a one in 5000 or so chance...as others have posted doa runs, heck even just playing zaishen missions/bounties will get you there faster than HOPING for a infinitesimal chance of a uberrare gold mini---so most people (almost ALL) got what? a boat load of ccshards, party points, sweets and .....no mini.

But...I got several times more actual stuff to use/sell running SD with a friend than I would have hoping to win the minipet lottery. I found that a much better use of time.

I did 1000 runs over 2 accounts during the event and no polar bear, i do the same every year since the minipet become an option, would say around 3000 runs total now and nothing. so frustrating.

Sure, but there will always be people hoping for that chance

(and people who actually beat the odds and get one). I'm not saying it's a rational choice, but look at Las Vegas and nothing needs to be said.

(btw, I did dual account SD until I got more than enough to complete my titles and only then did I start MPB farming

Well, now that we know there won't be some uber reward in GW2 and understand how the HoM works, there is a lot less motivation.

Even wanting to fill the HoM in one big push by winning a mini, well, we know what the rewards are. Is any of that stuff worth hundreds of hours of pure grind?
