got 3 accounts running at the moment, enjoying a movie while mindlesly running through snowmans lair.

Im running 2 accounts for 3 years + one winters day redux and no bear jet. did +900 runs 2009 winters day and +700 redux 2009.

Don't think i get one this year. already trying to buy one but that seems just as hard. I even got laugh at my high ded price offer but who cares i want one this year.

Gz for the ones that are lucky.

Polar Bear farming is a bit different since you can go afk at the end of the map and the NPCs do the work for you.

I spend that time putting washing in the machine, watching youtube, reading forums, binge-eating, hanging up wet washing and other busy stuff. That's contrasts greatly with the likes of raptor or vaettir farming which is much more intensive.

Either they are using GWx2 which is a program that allows you to run two copies of Guild Wars at a time or they have (like I do) 2 (or more) computers set up side by side with a KVM switch attached.

No I don't set up 2 systems just for GW. I have to have them for my business. It is just a bonus that I can run 2 GW accounts during Wintersday.

Haven't done one single polar bear run this year so far. May not either. While I have amassed quite the collection of mini pets I am just over it as far as the mini bear goes. Over the last several years I am betting I have done in excess of 2000 runs. One character is level 20 and far along into her Survivor Title and she was ONLY used on these runs.

Yes, Run to the end killing along the way and once at the end go afk and run the second account. Then rinse and repeat. One account usually finishes the end just in time to afk the other.

Im using 1 pc and 2 laptops atm 1 for trying to buy the bear en 2 to farm.

GWx2 is to scary to use i think.

Now at 154 runs. No bear yet.

The screenshots of the two people that claimed they got a bear this year shows them only picking up the polar bear, but does not show that it dropped. Lets all see the screenshots of them being dropped from the chest.

why?
chest drops don't get listed in chat like mob drops, so what you think they tossed a MPB on the ground and picked it up?

Yes that is exactly what I think, but that is my opinion. It is not 100% proven unless it says it dropped from chest. Not doing a flame here, I wont post any further, so have a happy holiday

you actually think two ppl that are clearly happy about their drop are faking it?
you think someone dropped a bear, then farmed all the grentchies with the possibility of failing to pick it up later? >.<

When something drops from a chest there is nothing noted in chat about it.
Also if someone dropped something on the ground to pick up with the chest drops there would be more then 5 items listed in chat that were picked up or there would still be event items on the ground, 15 second timer from opening the chest to mapping you out is hardly enough time for anyone to fake something more then this poor attempt below.

Last year I saw only one person selling and they wanted 1200e. Saw a few people buying at 1000e.

No clue why price is so much lower this year considering the HoM update should have risen the price...

I don't know that the HoM should have a huge effect on the prices of super-rare minis, as there are more than 50 significantly less rare minis. So the demand for them shouldn't change much in response to HoM.

) and no, no polar bear.....may do another run or two just for the cc shards----

Would the benefit of a price decrease from faking a drop really be worth the risk of dropping a MBP on the ground, hitting a lag spike, and getting kicked out before you could pick it up again in the 15 seconds you have? I know power-traders are natural risk-takers, but that seems crazy to me.

I've done about half a dozen runs -- no bear. I might try dual-logging and do a couple more runs (my storage ranger hasn't died yet; might as well benefit), but I doubt I'll go crazy with it. Too many other, more interesting things to do than be disappointed over and over and over again.

Some times when i see 4 WTB polar bear and i enter de trade they all leave..... When i started some people whisper me with "thats to high" or "are u crazy?" But i still haven't bought one. So i think its not to high else everyone would sell to the crazy person. I think they are to cute to sell or so.
The other times that i farm and enter the city i do: wtb ded polar wsp price. And i don't know what i must do laugh of cry? Im getting whispers yeah i want to buy 5k.....
So then i think a lot of it must be "scammers" who want to take advantage from people who got the drop and don't know what it is.

Why i buy so high(at least they say so)? I just want the stupid bear this year!

As for the polar bear price:

Unlike ecto, zkeys, ... the prices for minipets are "fake". A minipet holds no real value, and in such can only be looked at as a collector's item. There is no real demand for these items, and thus the value worth of these items is only relative because you don't really have the option of liquidating your assets, or simply put: make money with it.

As opposed from lower end minipets, who people are always willing to buy to ded to their HoM, these high end minipets got even more devaluated by the HoM update because you don't even get anything special for these pets. (compared to cheap ones)

In other words: High-End minipets are essentially worthless. They're only worth as much as people are willing to pay for them at any given time. Since the HoM update, the people willing to buy these minipets have declined by a small amount (Because some people bought them because they figured they recieved special rewards for special minipets).

I wish the MPB rate would be increased. If not, at least give us a new minipet this year and/or with events. IMO, the mini pet statue/hom is almost unattainable for the casual player. I filled mine, but I don't consider myself a casual player.
