The Jingle Bear hat is probably one of the most awesomely cute things I've ever seen. It makes me want to run out, buy some white yarn, and knit one of my own.
Of the Guru members who entered the Wintersday workshop in Nolani, Tzu, KiyaKoreena, Penguin Oo, zidane88, Evangelin, Dutch Sunshine, and tmakinen all placed (I don't think I've missed anyone, but it's possible). More than a third of the winners are Guru members, that's pretty awesome, I think

Aww i had very similar ideas but never got aroudn to doing them. Theres wouldve came out better anyway haha. Hats off to the hat, nice someone included some art based upon the gw2 trailer.

I don't think spamming photoshop filters over screenshots and preexisting images is a combination worthy of winning.
I didn't really understand the snowman drinking out of a cup..? I see its rendered but... yeah I don't understand how that has to do much with wintersday.
I guess if I ever want to win in an ANET art contest I'll make sure I put in two hot girls touching each other in some way with random holiday characters on the sides.
Those are the only three that bothered me..

Some of these were well-done, but I don't concider them to be very Art-like or Wintersday-themed either.

gz to the winners im glad some guru people did so well again ive gotta say i think that this time all the contest winners deserved a win..unlike at halloween xD i cant share my contest entry unfortunatly because i had to leave for home for christmas and leave it half finished..but i have discovered a new hobby

I pretty much agree with YSJ as well. I also think yeah, the hat is cute but perhaps it should have been in honerable mentions rather than placing.
Kudos to the person that did the stained glass of divinity's reach though, that must have taken a long time to do.

Once again, while the list is overall good I disagree rather strongly with some of the picks. It seems to be that either some of the judges fall for cheap, flashy tricks or then there is a quota for entries chosen by throwing darts. Still, I'll refrain from saying which entries were in my opinion less deserving than some others, it's ANet's competition and they can do what they well please. In any case, congrats to all the winners!

I'd also like to mention that Tru Reptile is an awesome char name and that imo they earned the spot of number one. That's a truly beautiful work of art! Love the scythe too.

I like the variety I have to say. The pillow, the hat, the plushies, the drawings, the paintings, the costume, the sculptures, the stained glass (first I've seen one entered but someone can correct me if I'm wrong)... well we all have our opinions on what should be up there or not but it's quite cool to see all the different talents out there.
