The Pen works on batteries I think. I got extra batteries with it if I remember correctly.
Perynne
I don't recall any of Wacom's products working on batteries. I've had two of their tablets, the now-obsolete Volito and currently a Graphire. The pens work when the tablets work, and even on my old, old Volito the pen kept working for 5 years of constant drawing with no problem. Dunno if it still works, gave it to a friend and haven't heard from it since then. :P
However, it could be that your pen is wearing down from much use... and sometimes, they can have other electrical problems with it. I think your best bet would be to take it to the shop and ask them if they know what you could do about it.

It can't be the over use of it. I only got it since december last year. And I did draw quite a bit but that much...
But indeed I'll be taking it to the shop, though it's not a wacom shop, so they probably need to send it up or something gonna take time, bla bla. Just shit.

Perynne
It's always nasty to lose your tablet. My Volito lost pen pressure sensitivity right in the middle of a job commission I was doing that had a tight deadline, which forced me to go out and buy a Graphire the very next day with money I really couldn't afford to use on it. :P Then I gave my Volito away to a person who didn't care about pressure sensitivity, and apparently it started working fine again a few days later.
Tablets can be finicky beasts.
I hope you get it fixed soon. And don't worry about the art-trade with me, I can wait.

Oh I also got some extra pins that you put in the top of the pencil. Maybe you should replace that?
Gwee
The nip of the pen is only a plastic I think. It's a mechanism in the actual pen which does all the funky stuff.
It still sounds like some sort of software problem I've had myself on and off.

I agree with Gwee, but I don't know how I can fix it. I don't think its my pen. Why? Because when I go to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Pen Tablet Properties nothing happens. I push it, it says my last tasks where that I 'set up my Pen and Tablet' but nothing happens. Like there is a redirection missing or something. Don't know how this suddenly could have changed, and how it's possible that it only affects my pen and not my fingers, its still responding to my fingers. I know I got very prety fingers, but they ain't magical.. Hopefully tomorrow will clear things up.
EDIT: Ok i'm RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed. I plugged the tablet in another computer, and still only reacts on my fingers and not to my pen. So my guess is, that it is the pen after all then. Then if could take some time to get fixed.

lol!
You can do finger painting on yours? :O Mine doesn't do anything if I touch it with my fingers! Hehe.

Yeah I got a Bamboo Fun, which includes Pen en Touch. But I hardly use the touch
Sometimes to navigate, kinda like a Mac Touchpad. But I can finger paint xD Anyone wants a special finger painting? 100e

Gwee
Haha, finger painting ftw!
That sounds fun. I hope you're tablet gets well soon.

Perynne
Hehe, fingerpainting sounds like great fun!
Mine doesn't do that either.
Maybe take a self-made stylus until your pen gets fixed and use that? Something like a Nintendo DS stylus or one of them touchphone things. I guess a blunt pencil would do too. I don't know how well it would work though, since I've never used the fingerpainting possibility, but if it's a bit like a pen and if your tablet accept other input, it just might work.

What about the sensivety? That could be the problem too.

Yay! I'm glad it works now. Looking forward to more updates from you

Where's the vote going to? :P

InfestedHydralisk
PvdA here, this was my first I could actually vote. Didn't expect such a huge list lol.

I suck at fire.
Here is a wip of what I am doing for Infested Hydralisk. Just so you know I'm still doing things :P Yay tablet back to work.

Oh WOW! That's looking really good Tommy!!
Mr. G
I think that's awesome fire, really magical and stylized (just what you want for a spell)
Are you going to work under the fire stream? I think it looks good with the fire framing it.
The loose feathers/flames seem lighter than the rest though. But wow! Looking great.

Feathers looked strange because of the background
Look better on here. Thnx for all the sweet words both
Here is the finished result:

Nice! She looks almost real and I love the background too! Looks like you're leaning more towards realistic drawing. This is the best one I've seen from you so far.

Chicken of the Seas
That looks great Tommy! Loving the hair, face and the phoenix. =)
Mr. G
Wow... I know I keep repeating the word, but simply amazing. I especially like the smile.
It's cheeky but almost sinister at the same time...

That's really, really beautiful. You've managed to get a lot of expression on her, and that firebird is just awesome. Good job!
One thing that I see that you could try to improve on, is to have the same dark shading and light highlights on all of her body that you have on the face and neck. Generally it's a good idea to make the face the most detailed part of the body to draw more attention to it, but it's good to use at least the same colour shadows and highlights on the rest of the body to make them match. The rest of the body doesn't have to be as detailed and the shading can be rough compared to the face, but often just having them there makes a huge difference.
You've done really good work though, and yes, this definitely shows that you're improving as an artist.
Can't wait to see how your style progresses.

Oh Tommy asked me if I wanted to have a detailed face and a less detailed body, but I said that I wanted it equal.

Aeronwen
oooh that phoenix is great , so....fiery :P

Quickly made this request for russiansteven. A reference sheet for his ranger. If you would be interested in receiving something like that aswell, feel free to ask me
But remember, it costs

russiansteven
Again, thank you for the reference sheet. I love it

Sort of having vacation now, so going like a speedtrain ^^ Today was Perynne's art trades turn. Here is a WIP of how far I've gotten today. Long live good reference, and trying out new brushes. Turning out quite nice so far

Rydia Merchan
Its beautiful Tommy!!
Mr. G
Wow that's...fantastic. The brushwork is superb on that, possibly some of the best I've seen on these forums.
I always feel like a drooling idiot if I don't find something that could be improved though (at least in my opinion). In this case I would say that the torso needs a more definite shape.
Her breasts, stomach and waist are all pretty much the same width - I just think she could use a few more curves.
But don't let that put you off. It really is spectacular.

Wow Tommy, that does look great. I agree with G, the torso does need a little more definition. Otherwise it is looking to be really good.
Can't wait for the finished piece

@ Rydia, Thnx <3
@ G, Wow, thats like the best compliment I've ever had ^^ I agree the torso needs a bit fixing, but because of the angle alot of curve dissapears, which makes it had to fix
@ Ravenhawk, You just have to wait 1 more day, at worse luck 2
Here is the last WIP.

That's looking really nice Tommy.
I'd watch the values on the bottom of the image also maybe tighten it up a little? There's lots of empty space. Other than that it's lovely!

Perynne's art trade is finished, just waiting for her to see it, want her to be the first ^^ Really like how it turned out, hope she does too. So expect something soon ^^
Also did the colouring on Frostkisses elementalist, drawn by StormX. Hope she likes it
Next up another Ritualist commission. Here is the first scetch, will get fully coloured. First time doing male. Just got a bit of trouble with the perspective of the staff and headwrap.
