The charr in the background is a nice touch as well as the shadows of the grawl? on the hill

Very impressive, you've really managed to catch the proper mood in this drawing. Lovely background and colouring!

The only things that I think could use some improvement are the mesmer's legs (her hip/groin area looks a bit strange, there should perhaps be a little bit more space between so that her legs would look more natural) and her chest (the right breast, from the viewer's point of view, is a little too close to the other one and looks squished, as if the top is pulling it to the side rather than letting it sit naturally).

Otherwise, great job! I can see a lot of improvement in this one, and I like the fact that you've used a more flat brush for some parts of the colouring. Using only airbrush sometimes tends to make the drawing look too fuzzy or non-solid even if you try to go for as much realism as possible. It helps to combine it with flat brushes that are tweaked with opacity/flow to get a more solid feel to the drawing. You've managed to find a very good balance in this one.

Thanks for the comments!

Perynne, I made some minor updates on it but not sure if it fixes anything lol. I mainly fixed the mesmer's leg. Not sure how to fix the chest area so I just left it as it is.

Done with Nova's commish but waiting for his/her approval first before I post it. While waiting I decided to color Rydia's drawing of my mesmer (a long overdue collaboration lol)

Truly your best artwork yet, and one of the best colouring jobs I've ever seen.

Wow those are really flattering words! Thank you Atris! I might tweak it a little more tonight actually or move on to the gazillion other coloring/drawing stuff I need to do >_>

Here's a small preview of Nova's commission. Again, it's a different coloring style...I swear my hands are possessed sometimes.

I did not paint the background. I found a nice view around the Northern part of Tyria and took a screenshot and adjusted the colors to fit the overall picture:

Thanks Hydra and Murke!

Nova - I am really glad you liked it. Sorry it took me forever!

And yeah so I updated the coloring of Rydia's drawing and added some fangs (well I RP my mesmer as a vampire..) and tried to improve the shading a bit. Also re did the hair for the most part

As for my commissions, it'll probably be closed for awhile. I still got a ton of stuff to do so you guys haven't seen the last from me yet! I might do some freebies/trades once my schedule frees up as well.

Made a small update because everyone's raving about the magma glove. glacial gauntlet got jealous :

And I won a request in DA for a chibi version of my mesmer's alternate version. I colored this one. You can see the original lineart in my DA page and who made it:

The ranger pic came out nice. Reminds me a lot of the Prince of Persian game covers. If you do something like this in your next piece, you should push the lighting/color effects even more to really give a sense of the intensity of fire and ice.

http://roguemina.deviantart.com/journal/34152385/

And here's one of them (A free request giveaway I posted weeks ago).
Still a WIP. Been awhile since I doodled using traditional stuff. Got some new pointers in coloring and trying out new techniques on this one. Maybe I'll finish it tonight. The user requested an X-Men character and I LOVE Rogue (You can tell by my DA username). So I am pretty psyched about this.

I also need to give her justice with the old crappy drawing I did of her last January hahaha

So here's the new version (Still a WIP):

Thanks

Storm is awesome! I can really imagine those cool lightning effects already and storm cloud. It would make for an amazing artwork. *loves the X-Men, the comicbook version and the 90's animated series*.

I'll probably make more X-Men artwork at some point, they are the reason I got into drawing before I even got into anime. Although I can imagine doing a Gambit one first before Storm lol.

On Rogue's white streak, artists usually have creative freedom on how much white/gray they put. I am very much influenced by the Jim Lee version where he drew her with pretty much all white on the top of her head lol.

80's and 90's animated series were awesome, nowadays you get these awful cartoons with squared or triangle heads etc.
So terrible.

I absolutely agree with you! Don't even get me started with X-Men Evolution..though I did watch it solely for the love of X-Men.

I love the 90's X-Men animated series because they introduced me to the X-Men, and the episodes turn out to be very close to their comicbook version. I hated the X-Men movies with the way they portrayed Rogue. In the comics, she almost singlehandedly defeated the Avengers (Avengers Annual #10) and eventually permanently absorbed Ms Marvel's powers before she ran to the X-Men for help because she couldn't handle the personas in her head anymore...not because she was being hunted down by Magneto like a lost puppy -_-"

Uhm thread derailment ftw? lol.

Ouh, X-Men, from the 90s. Someone is after my own heart. Rogue looks fantastic! The Glacial and Destroyer gauntlets clashing fire and ice is just so amazing, too, wow, makes me think Pyro/Iceman. These all bring a smile to my face.

Finished version of that Rogue drawing:

Just a couple of new pics I did:

Alternate version of a guildmate's ranger:

And Murke's well, Murke! She's got an updated hairstyle because my mesmer told her to pretty up and advised her to let her hair down:

And a WIP:

It's based from a continuation of this storyline (lol this digital drawing looks so outdated). Yes, same four characters but the above WIP is in their re-designed versions:

Nice, I like the idea. You should expand a bit more into your color palette to give your paintings a bit more vibrancy to them. Your shading on some parts seem to follow a standard light/medium/dark equation. Play around with your colors a bit more - keep temperature and lighting in mind. Use the same ideas you used in the destroyer-glacial gloves piece more often.

Thanks Charlie! lol, uhm..are you referring to the ambient lighting in the gauntlet piece? (not sure how to word that one)

Harumph!

I was speaking of the colors you used to signify the change in temperature. You can use that same concept of using warm colors (red, orange, yellow) and cool colors (blue, green, violet) to do both shading and lighting depending on the light source and its intensity.

For example: instead of painting a face with one base color and two other tones derived from the same base, you can mix in either cool or warm colors depending on the situation. It can significantly change the surface of an object from being very plain to vibrant.

I think the most noticeable improvements are on Mina and Vale. Try practicing on a fresh canvas and experiment a bit more with your colors and brush strokes.
