"War in Kryta" Costume Set

Pretty shocking update in my opinion. If I'm honest I'd rather Anet just went the whole hog and made the game a monthly subscription and get rid of these poor excuses for gaining funding for whatever they're planning on doing with the game and the series.

is it? I am now starting to wonder what they slipped in with this update cause I doubt that 4 costumes would require that amount of files.

@Neo Nugget: US$6.99 for each costume by themselves actually, it is US$9.99 for the both till May 31.

Bought them, though I doubt I will wear the Mantle one that much (never really liked them before this, incentive to hate them increased thanks to the current in game story....) but still, helps the boys and girls working on GW2, so why not.

No need for hate. Just buy them or don't. I, personally, think they look like they were made in MS Paint, but that's my opinion.

If people buy them to feed Anet's staff changes, then awesome. I'm sure they need money to fund Linsey's Dawn of Discovery fetish, but unfortunately, I just don't see the appeal.

I'm really disappointed in the White Mantle costume. It's not the awesome golden white metal armor that Justiciars and Knights wear, but some crappy cloth robe. And the Shining Blade ones just look silly, but maybe it's the angle the promo pic is at.

No, it is not, which I considered mentioning.

And I was hoping for PvE skills...

Shining Blade looks ok. But like last time, not worth shelling out the $$ for. There are reasons I bought a free-to-play game...

My Ranger's Obsidian Armor totally beats those hands down. But then Ranger Obsidian Armor pretty much beats anything hands down.

If you don't like the costumes or don't care,*shrug* that's $10 of your money Anet won't be getting, you sure showed them! Oh wait that's $10 of your money they weren't getting anyways. Seriously at least they are trying, don't want to buy them then good for you not like anyone really expected anything else for this.

Id just rather they don't screw GW2 the same way.

I don't like em and won't buy em. I recently bought a grenth costume (that one is rly awesome). And I really don't need more then 1 costume.. There is a reason we can buy armors right?

If the white mantle armor was the actually White Mantle PLATE armor, and the Shining blade had detail closer to Salma's new model, then definitely...but as of this point they look like complete shite

Never really been one for any of the obby armors myself, ranger or any other profession. I know there is prestige and all in getting them cause of their cost, but man, Anet made better before and since...

Just noticing some players are just using the Shining Blade hood only. rofl I guess if you always wanted a hood with out playing a dervish now's your chance.

Sigh... I don't want to pay anymore for this game.

I can hardly see how giving players the OPTION to purchase costumes if THEY FEEL LIKE IT, that do not effect anything but how people look, negatively effects the game.

*Sigh* people have no taste, it's always been one of my favorites. Sure if I wanted to look like a flower or sport an overly long trench coat then there are better options Dunno just never been a fan of all the "flare" that other armors seem to sport. Obsidian is sleek and shiny, just don't dye it pure black and it looks good.

I hope this warinkryta doesnt become merely an ad campaign for purchasing optional items for looks. A small expansion would be much much better.

Do these have the same little issue that almost every other set of armor and costume has had since EotN? I'm not a huge fan of glitter. (edit: Just checked a friend's and YEP! The edges glitter!)

I bought the wintersday costumes, but I probably won't be buying these. Totally not feeling the white mantle costume. The shining blade one looks a little better, but I like my armor better.
