Excuse me, Captain Literal. I meant there's no playable content, yet.
It's still not what we've been told we'd get for 3 months. And the skill update is late..... |
You'd think, seeing as how you have obviously given up any hope on this game, that you would expect this coming and not even bother posting, thus saving our eyes from gazing upon your pessimism.
Dude, everything you say is geared towards some form of hatred towards this game and every single one of your posts is like a campaign against the 4 or 5 people still working on this game. It's gotten to the point where you don't even bother saying anything productive anymore.
Nobody loves cynicism, dude. Never heard of a dude getting laid for constantly complaining at every single thing he incorporates into his life.
Trust me, I'm in the same boat as you; I've stopped playing period and only log on to obs matches and get my main through whatever pops up. I make snide remarks and poke jabs at their incompetence, but I always like to offer some helpful insight and ideas to whomever bothers to read it.
Back on topic (mainly the Primary Attributes discussion): I would be damn happy if each profession's primary attrib. only affected their skills. It's the exact thing GW2 is doing and, if implemented from the start, would have gotten rid of SOOOOOOOO many problems in past metagames without nuetering skills. Also, this Fast-casting change seems like a buff for PvEers, and what is this Fevered Dreams+Ash Blast combo that everyone is so worried for?

Also, did you all miss this? I'm not seeing any thread about it? http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/User:Zora/Gwdat http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:...le_Weapons.jpg Thanks to Neil2250 and Zora. Just take a look at the WM at the northern part of Watchtower Coast. |

Hmmm....wouldn't it be nice if more of the prophecies missions could be accessible as explorables (thus making the maps like cantha and elona)

A guildie and I were able to get on the other side of the merchant in Zinns lab and enter the divinity Coast explorable. There is a whole White mantle army with revamped skill bars and professions out there.
We eventually fought our way to the Fort at Loamhurst. There were several white mantle mobs and an ele boss named "...". we killed her and she dropped me her robes
I edited out the skill bars in case this is considered an exploit. If the mods ok it, I will share how.
Here is the first view from the White mantle fort.
Before it was impossible to enter because the draw-bridge was up.
Might be helpful to cartographers.
Edit- Apparently it does. That black area was uncovered on scraping the fort.

Guess we now know the base of WM operations
Leave it to the players to discover all content, even before it gets released.

One of the npc's next to Salma in LA says "..." when you talk to him. At first I thought it was just a case of Linsey forgetting to put the dialogue in, but now it's obvious he's actually warning us about the boss in divinity coast called ...
Lucci_Slevin
I actually wonder if they made it possible for us the get back there on purpose. I guess if they really did not want us to see they could have left the spawns out. But then again I am pretty clueless of the mechanics behind these updates.

Having people discover things on their own is the best thing to do. Simply releasing a dry update reading: "Now you can start battling in the War for Tyria" won't nearly be as enjoyable as stealth updates where you have thousands and thousands of people actively looking through the intire Tyria map for clues after each update.
Or atleast that's how I see it. Imo, no update notes is the way to go. Let the community figure it out, and keep releasing more content/changes when new stuff gets release on fan-site forums. (such as guru)

Please share build on how to get past barricades. I already explored some parts by dying and using henchmen line of sight to explore there. I know it's possible to get heroes/henchies to glitch behind barricades and then using recall but it's very hard to achieve it.
Edit:Just used recall on alesia but olias got past by lol. And moments later livia -_-
And later on alesia. Just need to constantly keep flagging anywhere behind barricades.
I believe they wanted us to see this. It's even possible to get into that room where seer is. Some guy (on wiki) said he used recall on pet and then strike as one. Seems too easy to be an oversight.

- We had a contentless 5th anniversary (unless you count costumes)
- We have well over 60 bots publicly released now and over 5,000 players admitting to using them, yet Anet hasn't done anything.
- The skill balance has been finished testing for over a month by the TK, and yet Anet is claiming that they need more time for it.
- And the WiK looks like it's not going to be released for at least another month. In a game that's begging for playable and replayable content only once a year, that's a bad thing.

Those i know in the TK have still been playtesting the latest idea's last week, so i don't know where you have this from.
Case you're referring to those leaked notes, half of the skills on there have since been changed/scrapped from what i've been told.

I wouldn't be surprised. It's almost like the players who are willing to get in there and look around are spying for the Shining Blade.

First, they would have to set up new spawns for each area, since mission spawns and explorable spawns are different. I don't know how much work is involved in selecting the number and types of foes that will be present, setting the area boundaries for each group and the paths for patrols, etc. But I suspect it takes more than a little cut-and-paste work, especially if you want to introduce some unique features -- like new bosses -- to keep the area from being just more of the same old stuff.
Second, to avoid screwing up the earlier parts of the storyline, they would have to think up a lot of dodges (like the secret tunnel to Zinn's lab) that do not appear until after you've passed a certain point in the storyline. This would be a lot of work, but it would take even more work to comb over all the missions and quests in Prophecies and figure out which ones might be screwed up or exploited if there were a regular portal into a particular mission area.
Since Prophecies has more missions than any other campaign, that makes for a lot of areas to turn into explorables. I think we'll be lucky if they do even one more tied to WiK besides Divinity Coast. The conversion of mission areas not directly involved with WiK is just a pleasant dream, I suppose, unless Guild Wars Beyond is eventually going to deal with events in other areas of Prophecies.

Yes, you can. It isn't clear from the way things are set up, but giving Thackeray an item that isn't "perfect" will complete the scavenger hunt for story purposes. So, if all else fails, you can progress the story by finding a merchant that sells Dwarven Ale or doing Fronis Irontoe for a free one.

just wanted to say this DOES work to finish up the thacky part---eg I had no more ciders so I gave him some hunter's ales....(got junk instead of parcel) but this seemed to finish up that arc for me and I was able to get the 'I need to get the girl' reply and see him and gwen doing the final HoM dialogue.
so no need for those ciders!
(just hope I dont need to see 6 dialogues + zinn + whatever else on 10+ characters )

@KJ: Sorry for that small rant against you. Glad to hear that, though.
@exploits: I am currently experimenting right now how to get past the barriers. Knowing Anet and their history of ShadowStepping exploits, I'd say they expected us to find out sooner or later and decided to keep the content in anyways as a sort of reward for those who got past. Otherwise, they would've only inserted the secret lab and closed it off completely.
So, if it helps anyone, I seemed to have done it the same way as the pet glitch: Use Strike As One on the Villager blocking the path, hope it gets to the left side of her, and double-click Recall (You need to use Recall on the pet as soon as you zone into the area) If you want all of your party to follow you, just give them Recall and have them put it on you, then they pop it once you've made it.

At least edit his names out of the screenshot, displaying a build he was uncomfortable with sharing isn't exactly right either.

Can we expect Shining Mantle skins also?

Good update, a lot of problem skills were addressed.

Forcing us to watch boring "cut scenes" to get new content is cruel...Just give us the loot. Don't force feed us bullshit we don't care about.

Afking through a cut scene is work? Why not add in oh I dunno fights? Last time I checked the game was full of monsters to kill. At least that has some semblance of fun.

You know you're not compelled to "partecipate" in these things if you think they're boring, right? Nobody will give you a cookie anyway if you do it. Just avoid speaking for everyone, some people happens to find this content funny.
LoKi Foxfire
I'm guessing by the pet you used that to Recall past? I saw the skill bars posted earlier... I was able to get one of my heroes past the Villager but got myself stuck in the process haha.... going to grab my pet and use that to get by now.
belshazaarswrath
Yea of course my point was to make a wide statement and speak for everyone. Obviously not everyone thinks sitting through a ton of text going over the top of the screen is boring. But I sure as hell do. There are ways in which you can make these events interesting and I don't think Anet's doing it. If I wanna read a bunch of text I'll go read a book.

The Live Team has, over the coarse of 2-3 months, put in more story than Factions had. They have also put in more interesting AI to fight than any other campaign, and you are complaining about having to read something in an RPG without being told to fight something?
LoKi Foxfire
Got past the Villager. Just Strike As One using a pet until it gets far past him so that you don't get stuck yourself when you click off Recall. Need to bring skills on your henchmen or precast enchantments before entering the "Loose Magic" effect if you plan on fighting enemies.

OH I GET IT! You want this very specific content to cater to you. Not going to happen.

Only old skin for me
Tested in hard mode also but faced lvl 32 minions and get wipped.

At least everytime they update these proph areas for the WiK stuff, they update all the textures and shaders....new Divinity looks nice and grim in the swamp :P
EDit: the peacekeeps also use a skill (with the Charm Animal icon) with no animals nearby, and is named "..." as well
It seems the farthest we can go (right now) is to the gate at Shaemore, the guards are hostile and we cannot enter, but there are enemies inside
Edit again: you dont need ANY teleport/shadowstep skills to get past the guard, but it takes some time.
