Opened 31 gifts, everything was crap, but around #15 i got a mini Evennia, now i just need to get the 2 others.

opened another 50 and not much.. almost at 40 medals total though- go medals =] I bet they'll have like this big ass bear come into lions arch and maul everyone without 20 medals- then they'll lose a character slot and have to buy it back in the store

So lucky, grats! I've opened between 150-200 gifts by now and not one mini of any kind.... sucks to see so many people open a couple gifts and get multiple minis, suppose it's a good thing I like to gamble. So much crap, oh well I'll probably never have to buy salvage or ID kits again. Oh, and I really wish they'd tell us what the medals are for or how many we'll need, have 25 of them all from gifts/quest rewards and they're just sittin in storage.

more crap yesterday. Only good thing out of the gifts were some lockpicks. the rest were crap scrolls and crap food. I mean really -death penalty not for a party is pretty much useless crap....can't even sell those to others for sweet points.

Opened ~40 gifts now, gotten two minis. I'm saving all of my war supplies until they tell us what medals are for, and fervently hoping that they don't take away the mechanism to exchange supplies to war medals before that happens. They wouldn't do that, right? They couldn't possibly do something that would annoy that many people?

I find it highly unlikely that they are useless, minis however pretty much are.

minis are a collectable/trophy item that can be displayed to others, and be dedicated in the hall of monuments for some purpose in GW2. Unless they're used to purchase something as a barter item.. Medals of Honor just take up inventory space.. so.. here's hoping. They're not LIKELY to be just a waste of space but.. never know.. standard of heroes..

Blizzard never said the Standard of Heroes was ever for anything though, while the actual in-game description for Medals of Honor in-game says you should hold onto them.
