This IS a holiday weekend, please expect that you may not get a response until Tuesday at the least.
whether or not your ban was justified, locking up the support site, the phone support and any other means of contact won't resolve anything anytime soon, be patient and realize these are human beings (unlike those guilty of botting) and therefore have both lives outside of helping you, and responsibilities to their employers. If you believe you are innocent, rather then bog our community down with your plight, Take things up with support with the exact patience and understanding you would ask from them. The results would surprise you.
and to clarify, the BBB will not be so much a help, but the contact of support by other means is helpful.

Now saying the truth of what you did and saying what you think should be your punishment,is not lying.

The punishment for the infraction you folks committed was clearly outlined and known to everybody from day one.
The potential consequences for your actions were well known, yet you went ahead anyway.
Complaining now to change the penalty because you thought you wouldn't get caught, or because you thought they wouldn't actually enforce the punishment, or because you only used it once out of curiosity, or because you only used it a little, as many people are trying to justify their own mistakes serves no purpose.
If you cheat you might get caught, but if you do get caught you will get punished, and you don't get to choose that punishment.
It's as simple as that.

why is there all this mindless chatter? orite..its riverside..lolol
you .dll inject, you get bant.. why are we arguing about this? if you want help go ask support, and if you're denied you're SOL. stop crying here, we don't really care

As a vigilant consumer, I did a little digging for those who were banned by GW.
Try the Better Business Bureau, this is the specific office which will handle NCSoft- directed complaints, http://austin.bbb.org/ Their website is very easy to use. I hope this helps. |
They don't. All they do is collect complaints. That is all. They have absolutely no power to do a single thing. Complaining to them is pointless and a waste of time, because it will not come to anything.
(They will also take any complaint made to them - whether it's a valid complaint or not.)

Untrue, the BBB files a complaint with the company for you. If you deal with a company as just a consumer, it is easy to blow you off. When an organization deals with company it has better resources and knowledge about consumer issues.

Why do people think the BBB actually does anything?

Thats almost as serious as a harshly worded letter from the U.N when countries ignore them.
Why would a company waste the time and money to clear up complaints from a joke like the BBB?
I also don't believe Anet is a member of the BBB so having a bad rating by a group that most people realise is a joke won't bother them a bit.

anyways, that's what a troll does best, right? elicit responses from people even if they don't really care..
edit: also, you've already made your point. you're a harmless one-off-botter who didnt do anything but run around in town with a bot. i'm sure some employee from anet has read this, is convinced, and will get to unbanning you soon

I would like to remind everyone that NCsoft is a corporation with a legal department, and people whose sole job it is, to deal with all possible legal recourse. They Have both checked, double checked and triple checked all of their legal rights and privileges. On the off chance that ONE person missed something I assure you, there are people double checking and triple checking any action they make to insure they are well within their rights. You not only agreed to play by the rules when you made an account on the game, you agreed to allow the state of Texas to be the judge on these matters should you pursue legal action. In a nutshell, they did exactly what they were within their rights to do. Threats of legal action, though they may make you feel better may not result in anything at all. Worst case scenario, they could result in legal action being taken against you. And though certain trolls who shall go unnamed would love nothing more then to wallow in you're personal misery, you may want to consider what you will accomplish with those actions. If you feel you are within your rights to go those routes, remember the advice on these forums is NOT the advice of an Attorney. If you feel you must, contact someone who actually CAN tell you what you are within you're rights to do.

everyone is posting to let you know they dont care and they're tired of hearing your drivel; you seem exceptionally deaf to a simple message though

And no post has been "I don't care"
One of the most active posters in A-net's side is cormac, and none of his posts have had anything to do with that...
Again, sorry for offtopic, won't happen again...Reply to me with a similar message and just read this.
PS: Sorry if I'm being rude,I'm just tired and can't belive the ignorance of some, even if its a few, people on guru.

The top two reasons why a mere suspension wouldn't have worked:
1) The cheaters would have just spent their suspension thinking of better ways to bot. They would have come back from their suspension and botted in new, less-detectable ways.
2) The cheaters would have kept all their stuff they obtained through cheating.

Also worth noting is that the EULA clearly states that suspensions are usually earned for issues with the players' in-game behaviour - so you have the chance to reconsider your conduct before you're given access again.
Clearly not the case with hacks, bots and unauthorized 3rd Party Programs. Those are evidently considered severe breaches.
About terminations:

About terminations:
Quote:
Permanent Account Terminations Obviously, we do not terminate the accounts of Guild Wars players without cause. We exercise careful judgment in every case of an account termination, and we will use the mark system instead of outright account termination if that seems sufficient to address the misbehavior. However, we will review breaches of the Rules of Conduct and the User Agreement with close attention to the most flagrant forms of rules abuse. In instances like these, particularly when we perceive a risk of substantial real or potential harm to the Guild Wars community or to the game's stability, an account can and will be permanently terminated. |
