lol, completely agree, also nice to see some awsome weapons, personally i customised my longsword just before i quit Guildwars. came back a year later to a hacked account. but luckily my titles helped me out for once. salvaged the mods off of it, but didnt break the weapon! so, back to Guildwars now with just old faithful
Might be in the market for some, there seem to be very few left around that are un customised though. but who can turn down the exta 14% and then the extra 20% |
Might you give me a little screenie or something for the list in the first post?
The Baphomet
Just realized brute was -1 energy regen inherent after I screened it lol.
I guess I figured it was zealous twice. He said it was unconditional. oh well.

So what this thread is trying to tell me is that these unconditional weps are worth lots?
I have a +15% Dmg q10 Dagger but its got a negative (-10AR while Attacking).
Worthless? Unless you can make up for the armour loss.
What kind of prices would one have to pay to obtain one of these (no negative) unconditional weps?
Where can these weps be obtained from? Are they lucky chest drops or...?

First, your daggers are likely worthless - max req8 might be worth some plat with that mod, but...
Second, unconditionals are no longer a possible drop. They're among the most valuable items in the game nowadays. There's a Sell thread link on the previous page that will give you an idea of their worth. The last bid in the thread was 1600e (~12 million gold) and that wasn't the winning offer.

The pic of the shortbow was of my toon from long ago. And Zamo's right, I sold it and gave the guy 10g to customize.
My Longsword is customized.
And the Great Axe r12 14% is mine and is customized.
Only regrets are not going all in on the Serpent Axe and believing that Akh would sell it to me at some point. Would have been customized right away and use regularly. Instead it sits and rots...

I thought a Req 8 15/50 Mursaat Hornbow was something... until I saw this:
http://i47.tinypic.com/14vnqkh.jpg Can't remember where I found the pic. I've backed it up and moved it around a few times and I don't remember the original creation date... it's old. Anyone know this guy? William The Swift? |

Technically it's value can't be determined since there is only one of those bows in the game (most likely) but I think it can easily fetch 5ke+

Well I could kick myself, I merched one of these last week (was a +13% damage +28h, figured since it wasn't 15% +30 it was merch food). A rl friend who has been playing for a long time gave me a bunch of gear to help me out, don't think he was aware of it either (and him giving me it made me think it WAS trash, since I doubt he'd give a new player a priceless item).
Makes me feel sick to my stomach now, go ahead and hate me guru community.
About 99% certain it was one... q8 sword +13% +28h non customized

it could happen just because most people don't even know what the unconds are..
they come back to game after few years and they have stuff from prop on their accounts
theoretically they can have unconds there and dont even know that these are sooo worthy

He has no clue of current pricing on things. I'd say that's what happened, he saw some golds that were not perf and just handed them over blindly.
Also, pics or it didn't happen? Want a pic of the merchant I sold to or something?

keep on the discussion of the subject, NOT if someone has a screen shot or not

i thoroughly regret not playing this game as actively when it first came out. I've been here since the beginning but feel like one of those guys who bought nightfall first or something. It's a bummer, especially with guild wars 2 creeping up, that guild wars is about to be a thing of the past.
Did these unconditional weps just drop off any mobs? and until when did they fix this?

In the beginning of GW there were unlocked chests that you could open and dropped 1-4 (or 3?) items for who opened them (all party members could open them once) ranging from white to gold I think. Most of the unconditionals came from these chests because they were the easiest to run and mobs dropped far less items, but any gold/purple weapon that dropped could potentially be an unconditional.
Now, for how they were generated, there were 2 kinds of uncods. At the very beginning, a weapon could have a damage mod, associated with a condition. Health/Ench/Hex/Stance, but also without a condition tied to them, these were very rare, and these are called the 'true' unconditionals. Then ArenaNet realized that because these weapons existed, they gave an unfair advantage to people who could afford them (mainly in PvP) and that giving these weapons, conditional weapons were kind of redundant, so they removed the possibility for uncods from the droptables. The existing ones (which were no more than a couple hundred I think tops) stayed in place, because it was a lot of trouble for them to track all of them down and remove them and otherwise they would have to do a server reroll ALL the way back to the very beginning. A lot of things were removed from the droptables in the beginning of GW, uncods, FDS'es with 15^50, Gold req-less staffs, Swamp Clubs, Dwarven Hammers...
Then there were the 'fake' unconditionals. I don't know if they survived the first update, were a result of the update not being done well enough, or were removed alongside the 'true' uncods. Basically, if you had a gold weapon that had a deathbane mod on it I think, that was +1x%/-1 health or energy, so a dualvamp or dualzealous, the -1 would be 'hidden', and not work at all in fact, and you would have a weapon that seemed to be unconditional. However, if you upgraded your 'fake' unconditional with a zealous or vampiric weapon upgrade, this would activate the 'hidden' -1 and the weapon would no longer be unconditional. This caused a lot of scams and stuff to trace down the true uncods and the fake ones. However, the details of when this was removed, when it happened etc I don't know.
So far my limited knowledge about uncods, hope that helped you out.

Just to add little to the pool of information. I don't have first hand experience with unconditionals, but i do remember lot of talk about it on forums back in the day.
Some unconditionals came from the divinity coast barrel mentioned here: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...5&postcount=67
Like Akhilleus said, very little people had access to the later game stages, and i figure more people had access to this barrel than to crystal desert barrels.
Here is also some mention about barrel being bugged: http://guildwars.incgamers.com/forum...=1#post3559053
Edit: also another old times thing: shadow blades. If i remember correctly, original shadow blades that dealt shadow damage were only available in betas as drop from fow and never made it to the actual game, can anyone confirm/deny that?

PS: I'm assuming here that your axe dropped for you recently; you didn't get it in early 2005 and have had it lying around for 8 years. That's unlikely though.
