So the big question...

How much did Indie sellout for? :P

With 11 million dollars in funding behind them, curse can afford to pay him what Guru is worth.

There's a lot of hostility here, Kvinna has stated that most things won't change unless all the admins approve. Why not give them a chance?
Dont think it went to Inde

Quote: its deffinatley curse.. do not be fooled! they are not there to take you to the FBI! lol. im having almost too much fun with this It's funny cause I always keep a dban disk in my second DvD drive just in case they do show up O.O

All that it would take to get a majority vote is 2 people...and I'm sure they would have no problem getting anything passed

I'm going to be as blunt as possible in this post. If you don't like it, then I say "oh well".

I've always enjoyed Guru. It's simply a very pleasant place to post on (even with a decent amount of trolls, I still enjoy it). I most definitely hate the fact that it's going to a bunch of capitalists. I have heard very, very negative things about Curse in general

But... Having said that, I'll give this change the benefit of the doubt with one chance due to my long-lasting respect to Guru (keyword(s), to GURU, not Curse). If things change too much then I'm simply going to pz out, turn my back, mumble "fk you", and carry on with my life.

Oh, and btw, I agree with everything Bruce has said. I, too, noticed all the things that he mentioned. The Curse admins, specifically Kvinna, seem like a load of BS on how they bounced around their answers (and going off-topic with a few Guru members when, imo, this thread should stay highly on-topic due to the nature of its contents).

We'll see...

I'll give it a try and hope this change is good. As long as free speech reigns, I'll be a happy camper. If things get shady, I'll be riding atop that flying siege turtle waging war.

The way I see it:

GWG was successful because it made up for the lack of a better trading system in Guild Wars 1. Almost everything else was nonsense that I could easily do without, or was information that was easily found on the Wiki or GW.com.

Hopefully GW2 has a halfway decent trade feature that won't require the entire community to trade using some random off the wall forums.

Summary:
After GW2 release people will be PLAYING and not trolling a forum.
Selling will occur IN-GAME and not on a forum.
I can't see a BETTER time to sell GWG. Cheers!!! I'm happy for whoever benefited in the sale, as it probably won't be Curse...

netcurse is just a default Curse admin account, it does not represent any particular person.

Good grief - do the new owners really know what they are getting into??????

Paranoia, conspiracy theories, internet psychosis, and a general lack of rationality.....

Hold on a sec.......ain't that exactly what web forums are all about?

I like this forum the way it is. If for anyone reason I am charged a fee for ANY reason whatsoever just to sustain what I currently have then this change is the worst thing that can ever happen.

or...

If a fee is charged for a service that would somehow be advantageous to whoever is willing to fork out the money. Guru has never asked it's user base for any money and the site has been running fine. I will not accept, "We need money to keep the site up" as a plausible excuse.

This is getting ridiculously off-topic... And that's saying something coming from me. I don't know why the mods haven't cleaned this up by now. :\

Did anyone seen what vbulliten did to boards who converted to the new format? Looks like we have the same fate to look forward to.

Please think about what's being said before you delete my posts. Just because they don't seem like they have a point they usually do. Sometimes you just gotta read deeper If you still think this is offtopic or w/e then delete it again and infract me. Even though it pertains to a comment by an admin therefore I consider it perfectly valid
Soo...if he stays on hes curses puppet...got it He's not staying.

The only admins from Curse who are going to be active in any decision making are DoranM, and Kvinnia.

Ooh i see the topic turned into big flame fest, From what ive read on this topic sofar, all good for me, i like changes, and well as said before most gwg users started use this for Ventari/trading, and probably still is, that mostlikely wont change, and we dont know if gw2 brings nicer way to trade.

gw2g will probably be one of biggest discussion places of gw2 when its released, and noneone will complain :P

I've used Curse as a source for WoW addons, visited their forums. Never had any complaints. Time will tell, but it looks like a good decision.
