Ban during finals of monthly automated tournament

I am reminded of something that happened back in 08 (I believe march, it was the mAT that "Best Guild In The Game[best]" tanked below 4K rating and then made it to semifinals). Our guild managed to have enough interested to actually get QP points and enter the monthly. One of our matches was with a sub 100 team and since we were going to be on obs mode (people watched obs mode back then), we wanted to do a name gimmick.

Of all the things myself and others I know have been temp and perma banned for, we oddly enough chose a very benign Reservoir Dogs name gimmick: (this should be within guru "name posting" guidelines. 1. this was us. 2. this was pulled directly from obs mode. 3. we made the names specifically because we knew people would be watching. 4. the names were throwaway and we deleted those names the next week, much less two years later)



Note the name that has an arrow pointed to it? It was banned mid match in a following match. It was banned for being racist; Gaile was quoted on that mAT as saying the only ban was for a "clearly racist" name (EDIT found the post finally!). Now in this case it didn't affect the mAT; neither my team nor the team we ended up losing to later were going on to the single eliminations. However, several people in the pvp community have expressed concerns about this type of behavior of Anet directly affecting the outcome of the tourneys.

To put it bluntly, I don't trust Anet to make correct banning decisions, much less trust them enough to make correct banning decisions that are going to cost the final match of a tournament.

They aren't even making correct or logical updates , thus for banning system....

However , aswell i remember some people getting dhummed in hall of heroes , but fights were still on B... so why , hazardly , the system decided to bug on this mat ???

It's a support response. I don't know which person to believe. FruitSnake gave me a well though out, proper, human response which sounded a lot more truthful than Regina's post.

So everyone who`s real life surname is "White" could be banned from Guild Wars for a using his real name?

If "Mr White" is banned as a name for being racist as claimed above, then the lunatics have truly taken over the asylum.

I once made a sin for perma dungeon etc and wanted to call it Super perma sin. Since it was to long for a name I shortend Super just to S like in superman. So only after a few hours when the char was already lvl 20 I noticed cus of a comment from a other player that S Perma sin was indeed to be called sperma sin but I didn't care much and 3 months later when some rage kid actual sended a support ticket I got a suspension for sexual name .

Mr. White was considered a racist character name? That is truly stupid. Likewise S Perma being ... uh, sexual? Alrighty then. Some people are way too sensitive.
