Life after 30 HoM reward items
Darcy
Does anyone else feel aimless now that you already have earned all 30 items? I seem to have lost my sense of direction now that adding anything else to my HoM is just title grinding.
Eric Flannum said that they didn't add more items, just the titles, so that players wouldn't feel pressured to max out the rewards to 50. I don't think I would have felt pressured. I think it would have given me a goal. Now, unless I want to go for GWAMM, I have nothing left to do in the game.

this thing has only existed for a little over 24 hrs and now you've lost direction? What were you doing between the end of WiK and now?
Gennadios
It kind of dragged me out of retirement honestly, I got back to see that I'm 42/50 and over the past few days was working on getting straggler points.
Granted it was power trading mostly, but when you're 23 minis and 62 zkeys away it gives you reason to be there @ least.

I started at 30/50 and, if anything, this announcement gave me motivation to finish getting GWAMM and maxing my HoM out at 50/50. The titles might not mean much, but it's still SOME sort of future reward.

If you dont like titles then just dont really play and wait till you get your stuff for GW2.
Its a win-win situation. We weed out the stinkweeds that want to rain on the parade of GW2 by saying "this is stupid im not doing that Q.Q /quitgame" and we get more pug activity/stimulated market(can anyone say 100k unded bone dragon?)
Marty Silverblade
Given that I've been playing less and less since my War finished EotN, I was only at 20/50. Lots of stuff to unlock gives me stuff to do, especially because I've got elite armors on other chars that haven't got the relevant tapestries. I don't think I'll bother going all the way to 50 though. I've never really gotten into PvP so I can't see myself getting a PvP title. Nor do I see myself spending the majority of my life savings on obsidian armor and a torm weapon. I do look forward to collecting hero armors though.

I hope they decide to give more rewards for 30-50 than just titles. I have a feeling the player base wants this too. Afterall, all they have to give us are unique skins, I would be happy with that. No more pets, just skins that you can mod.
As I have said before, I'm very reward oriented. I havent title farmed much, except for PvE rank skills and a few others. I'm at 45/50 and I need 9 more titles to get 50/50. Not much motivation to finish just for a title that only gives you bragging rights.

Faction farming for my Luxon title which is at 9.1mil and helping out some guildmates. I did mention GWAMM, correct? But what I mean by a lack of direction, is I have no incentive to put more weapons or armor, etc. into my HoM. I just hope this feeling goes away and my sense of anticipation returns.
Kook~NBK~
I'm at 42/50 and I find that the HoM rewards system gives me a sense of focus. I know what's required to "fill" a HoM and I know what I'm missing. Knowing that one doesn't have to do A, B, or C is a bit of a relief. And knowing that D, E, and F are what's needed to get to 50/50 really helps.
I'm not worried about getting that last title, because I think it's kinda lame (but "Legend of the Mists" sounds pretty cool.). Heck, I may not be getting GW2 anyway! I'm just going for the 50/50 to get a sense of completeness. Besides, now I've got a reason for doing things in-game that I had no interest in before - challenge missions!

At first I was like, well Im 50/50 with Gwamm, so i guess Im done. But now I have been spending a lot of time helping out guildies/friends to get to 30-50. It has been fun being in groups with them again, and doing some parts of the game we haven;t touched in a while.
Hobbs
I started at 35/40 and maybe logged on a few hours a week, i've been playing a lot more over the course of yesterday and today to try and get up to 40/50.

I know they have more content planned in the Guild Wars: Beyond Campaign. I would like to see some of that content linked with the HoM rewards in guild wars 2. Just like they had some WiK material count for points, maybe they could extend it past 50 with the new things they are introducing. Would give some people with 50/50 a bit more to work towards.
domaspiragas
I know exactly how you feel. It's like I get on with the feeling that the rest of the things I do are just used to kill time. Nothing to gain. However, my friend that quit about a year ago, who is waiting for gw2 gave me his account. So I've been filling his out for him. At least to get him to 30. But it does seem that GW has some eerie aura around it now, to me at least.
Aldawg Thanes
Well my goal prior to this information was to achieve GWAMM and then take a break before GW2 came out. However, now my goal now is to max out all 50 titles for the HoM. Luckily you do not need to be GWAMM to do this so I can stop working on the stupid drunkard title and finish vanquishing and cartography. (Yes, I was working on all 3 titles at the same time, but I am almost done with vanquishes and carto, but I am only at 3000 drunkard)
I appreciate that this information was released, it simply changed my focus from achieving GWAMM to obtaining all that I can for GW2 even if it is just a new title.
(I do think 50 minis is a lot, but I have not really started trying to obtain them past the 23 I already have)

I just assumed 31-50 just haven't been revealed as rewards yet, other than the title rewards.

I had my own personal quest that got smashed when the rewards were announced. I was working on getting my non-primary characters up in title tracks. Since it's now official that HOM is totally account-wide in GW2, it looks like there's not much incentive on pursuing that, in regards to HOM. But the new opportunity of getting 30 pts on my 2nd account will replace that.

I'll beat factions with some of my characters to hopefully return to it in a few mothns and play Crysis in Cantha.

i heard playing the game for fun can be... well... fun. but i wouldn't know--between grinding and farming and title hunting and grinding, i haven't had any time to have fun.

That's a lifesaver, 'aint it? Although it feels a bit like cheating that a power trader's wet dream title like zaishen would count for PvP while Lux/Kurz wouldn't. I mean at some point they were at least meant to be PvP centric.
Celestina
This has actually injected new life into my guild, so if anything I'm enjoying "life after 30" more.

Seriously. Stop playing the game or posting in forums for two full weeks. I dare you.

/agree. also, i would accept skillz as a pvp title.

On one hand, I agree that the rewards should be light after 30. However, since all of the rewards are completely astetic anyway (to my knowledge...), I think it would be fine if the rewards after 30 included a weapon skin, mini pet skin, or armor skin rather than a title.

Pretty impressive that you made 45/50 without much title farming. I imagine all the items are just about bragging rights. They probably won't be more powerful than stuff you can find in game in GW2.

Well I had 49 points when I first checked and only had to add one oppressor weapon to the HoM for the big 50, so I kind of get what the OP is talking about. There's not much left for me to do, but I can complete unfinished collections if I feel like grinding for funds (mostly oppressor weapons and some armor sets), then wait for GW2.
I wouldn't mind more rewards in the 30-50 range, although there should certainly be less of them then on levels 1-30. Perhaps one small reward for every 5 levels.

Yea considering that the only time i've set foot in pvp is to unlock up to HA and get zaishen elite(if that can be called pvp xD).
So yea, the ability to buy my pvp titles really caused me to breathe a deep sigh of relief. B/c without it i'd be kind of scrwed.. conisidering my internet ping is too high for any kind of competative PvP >.>

I am however perfectly content with everything as is. I will continue to grind some titles even though I have gwamm just b/c I already have come 90% of the way on them. I could care less that maxed lux/kurz etc don't count as PvP titles, specially since I 600/smite'd both of em. I am however exceedingly happy that zaishen counts for PvP, b/c I detest PvP with a passion.
Probably like others have said, I will try to help guildies and friends acheive the rewards they want. That in itself is pretty rewarding.
sthpaw
this has got me back from leaving the game for awhile, was on 43/50 now on 49/50 atm, but helping out guildies etc for now,
every1 is getting really excited about guild wars 2.

I sort of envy you guys, but I sort of don't. I have small (albeit boring grindish) reasons to play still. I will get from 25 to 30 soon, but then I might still try to get my koabd up.
bsoltan
I'm just carrying on as normal. I had a lot of things I wanted to accomplish before this news and I sitill want to acomplish them after. I can just see what rewards I will be getting for certain accomplishments, which is nice.
So what if GWAMM/X Title doesn't get you anything extra fancy in GW2? It is the journey getting there that is the fun part. For me anyway.

But no, today video games are jobs.

I don't think I have ever lost interest in the game. I don't think anyone could seriously say that have completed..EVERYTHING in Guild Wars. If they can.....kudos to them. I personally need to go back and complete all the quests I skipped..and maybe read the dialogue that I probably skipped. Heck I didn't even know about Dunkoro's son in Nightfall until a few months ago because I skipped so many cut scenes...lol.
Xsiriss
Yah I went through the process of obtaining all the warrior tormented weapons so I would be 'prepared' for GW2 (which is a big deal when you're hot a no life farmer) as well as aiming for KoABD. Now I've just sort of stopped seeing as I'm at 35/50 and don't really care about being called Flameseeker/whatever over Ghostly Hero.
MalibuBarbie
I agree with this completely as well. If you aren't finding the game fun anymore....maybe its time to take a break and go find something else to do.
I think too many people forget to be creative with gaming. Look at the game in a different angle...perhaps. For example: Try doing Thunderhead Keep...only using Prophecy Skills and Henchmen. ( Especially the players who started after Nightfall..aka Heroes) It might give you a challenge...or not. It would be interesting to see the outcome though

What is it with some people bashing others for going for hard-to-get achievements? Even if you do not have the time or inclination to do the same, you can surely see that some people do. It's all about preference, your fun is not the same as their fun. They clearly enjoy what they do otherwise they wouldn't be doing it. And you ain't gonna convince them to change their habits.
By the way, this isn't aimed at anyone in particular, just a general tendency I see among players.

Did anyone consider the fact that titles are extremely pointless and a ripoff from x360 just to boost your virtual ego ??????
I bin playing for 4.5 years now and played 5000 hours but only got 10 maxed titles (those where you don't have to grind titles)

Playing a game is pointless. You do not get anything out of it. People still enjoy playing games. Do you see what I'm getting at?

I'd rename the thread for Life after 50 points as I believe ppl like myself feel even more dissapointed with the HoM rewards Calculator stopped at 50 pts!
Doc Zenith
Yeah it can feel pretty poitless after the 30 i agree..personally i would't care to max out more titles after 30 but since i "only" need armor sets, mini pets and hero armos..i most likely fill the rest of it.I dont care much about the titles after 30 but i find quite fun to to play a again and now i have that tiniest reason to get that obby armor for the first time etc.
