Name the dumbest thing you've done in GW.
Zebideedee
Bought the Pumpkin costume....I think the designers must be rock stars because it looks anorexic. First costume I've bought that I haven't worn without the head because it looks repugnant, I prefer my toons not to look like stick insects. Yay for cat ears I guess
Jeydra
The dumbest thing I've ever done is calling players better than me bad. Pride, ego, hot-headedness, it sucks that I ever did it
urania
The dumbest thing Ive done is hope the devs would do a better job with pvp on GW2 as they did on GW.
helloeveryone
dumbest thing i had done is trying to sell my armour in ascalon, that's 5 yrs ago lolz

Now I can finally tell this embarassing story.
We were going to do alliance battles with a friend on my monk character, Chasseck Longmaster. We partied up in Factions, and she said she had to go to the Guild Hall for a second. She was leader, so she mapped out, but took me with her. Our Guild Hall is the Isle of Weeping Stone, and the loading screen looks exactly like the loading screen for the Echovald Forest areas. We ended up in what I thought was our Guild Hall, but there were other people in the room too. I got confused, and started asking in All Chat who these other people were, and why they were in my Guild Hall. Then I asked them to join the Guild, since they were already there. My friend started laughing at me, and I finally realized we were in House zu Heltzer, not our Guild Hall.

Probably not the dumbest, but most recent I was selling consumables and accidentally consumed some of them when trying to add them to the trade window.

Back in the day's that a rune of absorption (for the warrior) was worth 100K. And i bought 3 pieces of them with incredible pain (i hated farming but i wanted those runes). Then one day I saw an necromancer in action with lots and lots of minions. I got so hooked to the idea that i could run an army. I thought to myself: why be an frontliner when you can create thousands of them? Since i liked being in the backline the most and had i think around 4(?) slots in the beginning i deleted my warrior. And so about 300 K went down the drain. A month later realizing what i did i felt very embarrasing.
More common mistakes:
- Not taking capture signet/wrong proffesion
- Deleted my character with a perfect stormbow of fortitude (req9).
- Taking frenzy with me and blaming the monkhenchman i died.

Until this whole GW2/HoM deal, I really had never bothered with my hall. So after the update, I poured a lot of money buying armors and dedicating a full array of destroyer weapons to my ranger not realizing that the HoM "score" is essentially ACCOUNT BASED, so I could have used the elite armor sets from other toons that I ALREADY OWNED and I also could have dedicated all those weapons to characters that could actually USE them (hammer, daggers, sword, etc....). I also just assumed that you needed one of each TYPE of weapon, not realizing that I could have purchased multiple bows or staffs instead of stuff I'd never ever actually use. Bottom line, I now have a ranger running around with a crapload of armors and useless destroyer weapons (axe ranger?).

Therefore, when HoM kicked in, I simply displayed all the armors I already owned, and bought a few more. All my characters are great adventurers having completed all 3 continents, so it was just a matter of purchasing the remaining pieces.
Also, I dedicated weapons on characters who can actually use them. Like axe, hammer on warrior # 1, and swords on warrior # 2. All bows go to my ranger, and scepters, focuses, staffs are divided among my casters. Paragon received all the command shields. My sin got all the daggers, one scythe, and one spear. Even my dervish my was happy with the remaining two scythes.

In the early days of Guildwars, absorption runes did stack ^^.

Really? I admit I started as an elementalist, not a warrior, but the earliest mention on the wiki that runes of absorption specifically don't stack is June 29, 2005. Looking at updates previous to that date there is no mention of runes of absorption being updated to non-stackable. The game had only been released 2 months earlier.

They are still talking about rune absorption stacking in october 2005. That is a somewhat bigger window for me to screw up ^^.
Does not really matter who is right, its still 300k still through the drain O_o.
Zodiac Meteor
Salvaged Demon Fangs when it was worth 100k+ xxe, thought it was worthless...
Mordakai
I'm so dumb I don't even know the dumbest thing I ever did is....
(Ignorance is bliss)

Count Kenrill
The dumbest thing I did in Guild Wars was merching a nice rq10 Voltaic Spear...
NuclearSlug
Deleting my pve paragon accidentally instead of a simple reroll on my pvp toon. Lost almost everything of value along with him.
Hyper Cutter
...missing this Halloween event entirely because I thought it was the day after it was *facepalm*
mrmango
Playing my survivor to do more Boxing runs when my computer was in a downward period, prone to many lag spikes.
Lost my title there. <.<

Was making room on one of my mules & saw that I had 2 chunks of Drake Flesh. I decided to throw them away to make room for my 2 kegs I had just received from Nick. Next day I saw someone "WTB Kegs 15kea" so I scurried to my mule only to find 2 chunks of Drake Flesh & no kegs...

When sorrows furnace came out i sold a gold crystalline sword for 10K.

So I could put an Oppressor Recurve, Longbow, and Flatbow in to reach that 15 statue goal?

Okay, thanks. That's what I thought. Must've just misinterpreted VoodooRage's post, then.
Exhibit A
I think what he meant was instead of getting a bunch of Destroyer weapons of various types, he should have gotten bows and staves for each of the three weapon types that can be out in the HoM. (Tormented, Destroyer, Oppressor)
Nekodesu
Merched a r8 perfect prophecies weapon (No idea skin or w/e else) when I was a noob 7_7

Snograt
Kilroy chests in Sorrow's Furnace have always had a chance to drop purple Crystallines (and Dwarven Axes) - never golds.

One day I got a gold rune dropped from an ettin somewhere north of Lion's Arch. I identified the rune as rune of superior vigor, that was when such runes could be traded easily for 40-45k. In a moment of distraction I used a regular salvage kit instead of an expert one and got 3 iron lingots. Yay me!

dumbest i have done in GW was probably making a derv or paragon

The other day when Ghial The Bone Dancer was the ZB, I jumped onto my Dervish because she is also a minion master. I wanted his elite. But she hasnt done Nahpui Quarter yet so I mapped into The Marketplace and found another person who wanted the bounty. We set off towards the boss only to find a closed door in our way. Oh, we need to beat Nahpui before we can access that area. doh!
So I map over to Nahpui Quarter and join up with a PUG. We get all the way to the 4th boss, and someone (*cough*) rushes in and attacks only the boss. I thought we could spike it and activate the cut scene without having to take out the rest of the party. So we wipe, and everyone bails. I load up some heros and henchies and go thru the mission myself, getting masters. So then I get to Senji's Corner and find a PUG and join them. We head off towards the boss, and I notice someone with the same guild tag [fate] as me. We start whispering, and he's already in a guild with an alliance so I'm not able to recruit. While this whispering is going on, the other members have ran off ahead, over-aggroed, and we wipe. So people start bailing, so I map back to Senji's and start again. I join up with the same person with the same guild tag again, and this time I notice they're actually already in my guild. *facepalm* We grab some more people, and head out to the boss again. We make it all the way this time, and I activate my signet of capture, only to find out I already have Animate Flesh Golem! Arrrrgh! I must have used a Necro tome and forgot about it. So I felt like a dumb fool for the rest of the night. Feel free to laugh at me and my epic failure.

Drelias Melaku
When I first started, I merched a black dye because my guild (my first guild was god-awful) said most dyes were worthless. I accidentally salvaged my Elite Imperial Headwrap immediately after I crafted it because I thought I was salvaging runes off my 1k Luxon (damn adorable cats distracted me). Dyed a whole set of my mesmer's armor white, then realized I preferred red a couple hours later and redyed the lot of it. Sold my mini Celestial Pig for 100e about a month before it skyrocketed to 200e+, and spent 80 of those ecto on an unded Kuun after it had skyrocketed (I was panicking... Thought it was just going to keep going up). Plenty of other "derp" moments, too, like trying to cap a skill with the wrong secondary, forgetting the cap sig, and recently even forgetting to cap after I killed the boss because I was too wrapped up in looking at my new green and opening a chest.
Nothing that cost me too much money except the pig/Kuun incident, thankfully.
EDIT: O, and that time I used a Shining Blade War Horn because I'd seen the Oppressor's focus screenshot on Wiki before it was released and thought maybe I'd just discovered how to get them... Yeah, a lapse of judgment that lasted only a split second, but it was already too late. =P
Asking my fiancées opinion on makeover credits, and then going with his recommendations even though I really preferred the opposite choice. Three of the credits of my last makeover pack went to adjusting those characters to MY preferences after all, and my elementalist had to be changed TWICE. I still wonder if I should have chosen that Nightfall hairstyle instead... And looking at my wall of text, I feel REALLY stupid for all the dumb things I've done in this game.

Accidentally merched 2 black dyes for 1 gold. Deleted my mule character w/o checking to see if there was anything left... a full backpack of greens. Not carefully checking my attributes and realizing that I wasn't doing damage several minutes into the mission because I had 3 in fire and I was a fire ele... umm... yeah ^_^.
