So many people in this thread literally make me get down on my knees and kiss the ground in thanks for 7 heroes... I'd thank any deity you choose that I don't have to play with them.... whinge whinge whinge. Frakking Mary, what a bunch of tossers. Just about every day, in some little way, this forum makes me think "You know what? The Cylons were right, humanity deserves to die in hideous burning nuclear fire.".

Then again there are always people who'd look a gift horse in the mouth so to speak.

In case you haven't all seen these... interviews done about the Commando *grins*
http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/04/01/gu...sion-revealed/
http://www.onlinewelten.com/games/gu...-7684/seite-3/
http://games.on.net/article/12078/Ma...ando_Wi th_QA
And what I find amusing, is that several of the interview responses are clearly a nod to things we the fans discuss and debate on the fansites.

Corporal Bane's twitter sort of reminds me of the twitter of General Knoxx, from Borderlands. Both epic commando type people if you ask me... cept Knoxx wins because he's wearing a big ass robot mech suit type thingy with rocket launchers and various other weaponry type stuffs
edit:
btw new pve skill please: Shout: "That's a big chicken!" for 10 seconds your party members are in fits of laughter, boosting morale by 1% per second. Doesn't work on Necromancers because they are gloomy and morbid.

Lets get this straight.
Everybody who cannot acknowledge the fact that this takes away resources from the development of other projects in GW1 is a blind rabid fanboy. You can disagree with me about the priorities of content introduction in this game, but this took away resources from more important things like profession balance. That is a fact. |
You should complain about GW2 , it took resources away from GW1 , anybody who doesn't complain about that is a blind rabid fanboy amidoingitritecolonelthatisafact?

This has got to be the best thing ever. The bmp quest is fun with good rewards and sassy convo! I am proud of our live team, and our gw2 team. And if by any chunking of cash to the in-game store, posting support to you guys in the forums, or backstabbing your harsh critics will help in any way, Count Me In!
side note below *wink*
Dear Corporal Bane:
We have until Monday. If Gwen's progeny can produce a Guardian in 250 years, ours will rule the galaxy in 500! *well 340 if we can make sure some of the current guru stock doesn't breed*
So how much room is there in the Moahawk anyways??
Love Eternally,
Sia

*facepalm* people really complaining about this? Anet does April Fools stuff every year. If you can't enjoy yourself and have a laugh, time to log out of the game and take a walk. This is the one day of the year where your supposed to relax and not take anything seriously.
This was funny, entertaining and different from just a avatar change for the capital cities. This Aprils Fools was great. I do wish though that the avatars changed in Lion's Arch or Embark Beach ect... into the A.R.E.N.A costumes. Was fun in the past just hanging out with people on April Fools with our weird avatars of the day.

PC Gamer: Are you worried that the ability to call in a predator air strike, and drive a tank, might perhaps unbalance the game in some way? Jon Peters: Not terribly. We try and make every profession overpowered. That’s one of our rules, if everyone is overpowered then no-one is overpowered, so I think it should work out pretty well. |

I thought the in-game GW part of this was just "OK." The "MMO* meets FPS" thing is kinda funny. The Terminator references were - meh. The mini-mission was worth tackling just to say "I did it," but once was enough for me.
All the stuff connected with GW2 -the interviews, videos, web pages, were pretty good. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that this whole commando prank is nothing more than a GW2 marketing ploy. Keep the interested parties interested and generate some buzz to get more people interested in GW2.
For those QQing about A-Net "wasting resources," generating buzz for their upcoming game (while at the same time throwing us GW players a bone) isn't a waste of time or resources and I'll guarentee that people on the GW2 team did a lot of the work.

Why does it say A.R.E.N.A on the commando uniform but it's A.R.E.N.A. (notice the dot after A) on the riot shield? :P

What does A.R.E.N.A stands for?

Anet....really, you're amazing. The amount of effort that was gone to here is staggering. At my job, one of our corporate brainwashing phrases is "Delight the Customer". Well, you really did that. I was 100% delighted by the AFD content. Thanks again for all the extra things you do for your fans.

I enjoyed the April "Skill Additions" too. One of my favorites:

Apathy: "For the next 10 seconds, target foe moves 80% slower, attacks 90% slower, and spams /bored."
EPO Bot
I just have a vision of eight Bane clones mowing trough DoA.
It's called, of course, Baneway.

I must say it's definitely one of the more brilliant ways to bring attention to a game - far better than most marketing schemes that I see.
FyrFytr998
I just read all those interviews!! Comedy gold!!
ANET just pwnt 99% of their detractors.
The line about if everyone is overpowered then no one is over powered was "borrowed" from "The Incredibles".
Syndrome

Thanks Malchior. Good thing I held off saying something stupid to the guy who posted it on wiki.
