Three things:

1) If we're cleansing the Afflicted because of Shiro's defeat, then will anything be done about the Shiro'ken, or were they banished with Shiro to the Realm of Torment?

2) In terms of "large weapons", I absolutely show resentment to staffs being the size of my character. Looking at the Oppressor Staff, I'm hoping the new staffs are smaller by at least 10-20% in comparison to the Oppressor type.

3) Peace and Harmony. I'd like to see some kind of enemy use this in the near future.

They were "possible" in the sense that the drop system was capable of generating them. Owning them was not "possible" for most players in the sense that they would never, ever see one drop or be able to afford an item of such rarity.

There's random NPC convo about that in one of the explorables. Here: link.

I kind of agree, but I'm afraid it'd probably have to be taken with something like Mantra of Recovery before it really achieves anything (and giving enemies two elites just to have a chance of dealing with Assassin's Promise is really cheap).
Oh I know, we give the enemy group Quickening Zephyr! That always sits well with the player.

The was an inscribable grinning dragon axe that really is not all that rare.

Also I wish the spear was somewhat bigger.. like Voltaic. From what I can see now, we have about 5-8 spears looking similar to this Imperial one.

I'll stick with my Greater Guardian. Still the most bad-ass looking spear in the game.

Way behind in all the content because I'm stubborn, but those skins are good motivation. Please no more gaudy, huge weapons, I don't want e-peen bling.

I agree, but the kids need new toys, so it's apt to continue. I like e-peen bling, but not the big, gaudy, ugly kind - just the classy, looks-expensive kind.

I don't know what people were expecting, I remember some crying that Oppressor wasn't good enough, but what else is new. A bit of vomit comes up at the thought of Buster Swords (it was a good analogy though).

Three new things:

1) I finally completed Part 1 of WoC and... the ending didn't do much for me. Personally, it doesn't make me excited to look forward with two more parts coming. After all I went through, all it really did was make me cherish missions and quests that doesn't involve 120+ foes in cramped spaces. One of the biggest things I wanted coming out of WoC was the ability to enjoy the content, but all I got was frustration. I want an adventure, not a slaughtering.

2) I discovered the Scavenger Chaplain uses Peace and Harmony... or at least one variation of it because another one used Healer's Boon instead. Most importantly, what's the purpose of Scavengers? Part 2, hopefully, mentions this.

3) How is it possible to beat Cantha Courier Crisis in HM with a spellcaster (60 Armor) character?

Keep in mind all casters can get +10-20 armor from insignia and another +5-7 from mods on the brass knuckles if you use the gold set from EotN. Still, having more than 1 enemy hitting you at a time is going to kill you incredibly quick with any class, let Falken take as many hits as possible and if he dies then GTFO until he jumps back up again.

Many people have already come to that conclusion already. The ministry at the end of what waits in shadows starts to look like a Nazi group since they seek to not only destroy the leasdership of the gangs but also every one of their members. If you also look at the dialogue from the bosses along the way to Reisin one of them says go warn your family, this could only mean that the ministry is targeting their families whose only crime is being supported by the gang. In a city like the one in cantha who could blame someone for trying to get a better life by any means? Despite this the Ministry is bent on wiping out anything in their eyes that's against the Dragon Empire. It's starting to become clear as to why non-canthans are not allowed in Cantha in GW2.

Nah. It's a common theme.

Some guy finds a bad situation, and decides to rally the people to fight the problem.
Then they establish some kind of organization to deal with it.

At some point, either once the problem is gone, or while fighting it, they get too much power, or become corrupt, and end up as being worse than the problem.

Many totalitarian governments and criminal organizations started that way.

History is full of organizations like the Ministry of Purity (Nazi's, the Inquisition, the Crusades, etc.). And Sci-Fi has mirrored it in countless stories(Star Wars, Firefly).

As someone who lives in the south USA, narrow minded bigots who wear all white and pointy hats can even be found today.

It doesn't have to have TOO much bling but the rusty dusty bland looking stuff I've seen so far is ugly. Oppressor weapons were great, I ended up getting like 7 of them cause I liked them. Maul, Shield, Axe, Wand, Offhand, Staff, Bow. It is a fantasy game, and if you want "realistic" looking weapons that are boring and bland and suit your bland personality, those do exist... on collectors.

This IS stuff that may be dedicated to the hall of monuments remember, the "greatest" weapons. Not the most bland and utilitarian.

The point people are making is that Factions and Prophecies drops are almost unanimously garbage and weapon skins from those campaigns are notoriously difficult to obtain by playing the game, especially when they don't drop from the elite chest or the zaishen chest.

Inscriptions are an infinitely better example of strictly superior game design: even those blue weapons you get can be used with max stats making more of your weapon drops viable choices for equipment. Almost everything that drops in Prophecies and Factions is striclty inferior than collector weapons, preventing players from accessing so many skins in the game.

It makes no sense to create a wide variety of weapons and skins but create a system which prevent people from accessing the vast majority of them with good stats. This is why green weapons were so popular prior to Nightfall - because other weapons were too difficult and rare to obtain with good stats on them.

Do I think the vast majority of the weapons in the game should be available to the majority of players the way Nightfall and EotN weapons are? Of course I do. The loot system in Guild Wars was terrible prior to Nightfall (look at all the garbage caster gear you find). The variety of skins used by players was miniscule compared to the number of skins available in the game.

Inscriptions are better game design for the vast majority of people. The old school system was better for people who play for hours on end grinding every last corner of the game or repetitively farming the same things over and over again looking for something to fill their time. I'd far rather cater to people playing the game and wanting to access a certain skin rather than people simply filling their inventories with rare crap because they have nothing else to do.

The inscribable purple weapons are a nice addition to Factions.
Socialism much? "Everyone should get everything!!! I don't want to have to work hard for something I want." Yea ok dude...

If you like a skin, obtain it through w/e means are available to you. If you tell me that you can't, then you're not doing it right. Go back and retry. Every skin currently in the game is obtainable in one way or another with relative ease. Your whining about stats is pathetic. If you like a skin and want good stats, get an inscribable version, or WORK hard to obtain an uninscribable version with good stats.

I'm truly sick of you kids whining, thinking inscriptions are some savior... THEY AREN'T. All they did was make everything common. No more actual excitement over identifying a drop. I hope anet reverts the salvage function back to how it used to be. Random salvage. That would really piss off you people who obsess over things being difficult.

Did you whine that beating Mike Tyson in Punch Out was too difficult, and it should have been made easier so that everyone can experience beating him? NO! YOu either could, or you played until you could, or you copped out.

Anyway, regarding the Ministry of purity: people all too often focus not the recent Nazi and Communist totalitarian regimes and completely forget that unifying behind a cause and separating people int "ours" and "not ours, therefore not really people" is not only common - seeing how prevalent it is in primitice societies, it is the DEFAULT setting for humans, with universal recognition of "personhood", of recognizing all humans as "persons", a quite new idea that's still far from prevalent. Even worse, it might actually turn out to be too much for humanity and we may well see a regression in the societies of the world.

pve much?

as for socialism, it most definitely had some ideas that beat those behind capitalism by far. as a matter of fact, capitalism turned out to be one of the most destructive economic systems ever, especially when it comes to the environment, but also when it comes to people and animals.
at the end, neither of them turned out to work properly as a long term society system anyway. wanting more and more, and not giving much or anything back in a world with limited resources can't really work, can it.

Just because games started out "Nintendo Hard" doesn't mean that that is, was, or will ever be the ideal of game design. Games were only made that hard because they originated in quarter-sucking arcades, and because you couldn't save your game so they had to make it short enough to potentially beat in one sitting, while still giving the player hours of entertainment. Early MMOs were only made "hard" (which encompassed "time consuming" and "punishing if you fail") because they wanted to keep you playing and paying, and because they wanted to stretch their meager PvE content as long as possible.

Both attitudes (the old "Nintendo Hard" and the old grindy MMO design) are outdated. Your attitude is outdated. Get with the times, mate; just because something was done one way in the past doesn't mean that was the "right" way to do things. I'm here to play and have fun, I have a job for when I want to work. If you feel that you're not getting any games that appeal to you because you're looking for a punishing game that'll make you work for what you want, it's because the market has decided that they, by and large, don't like that, and the developers are responding in kind.
