So I started up Guild Wars after a long break, and no surprise, I had been kicked from my former guild. So I stroll capeless around Shing Jea for a while until I get invited to a guild. When I accept the invite, I notice a little music cue plays when the invite is confirmed. Just a few second snip, with what sounds like a victorious fanfare. I have never noticed this before, and if I hadn't turned the game's sounds sound down (excluding music) I would never had heard it. I can't imagine many have heard this, it's so subtle (or then I'm just half-deaf).
Anyways, what are your little things that you've never noticed before, but that you stumble upon., Things that make you go "How did I not notice this before?"
Little things you never noticed (that suddenly appeared to you).

So I was browsing GW wiki for cheap collector weapons for my heroes, when I came across an item I had never heard of before.

Needless to say, I was stunned. How many times in the past 6 years had I passed up that collector in Senji's Corner, thinking he had nothing worth trading for?

A few weeks ago, I just noticed that there is no roof on the Eye of the North outpost.

It's basically a glorified gazebo
Oh, and this is just pathetic. I'm one of those jerks who always skips the cut scenes. Only by reading wiki did I.... (plot spoiler for Prophecies....).....realize that Vizier Khilbron is really the Lich (after SIX years of play).

Nice thread idea! Thanks for the reminder. It's been a long time, but I do remember hearing it now that you mention it.
Amazing how our standards change over time. For anyone curious, this is about being able to split a stack of items by holding shift while click/dragging. I remember being so amazed and grateful when I first saw the notes for that game update! "How thoughtful and helpful and wonderful of ANet to give us all these amazing new features!" Back then it really did seem like we should've all gone to give thanks in Serenity Temple or something. Over time they've added more and more features with updates, as I've become harder and harder to impress.
The first time I noticed someone wielding a Lotus Staff was one of my own little things.
I guess I must've been inactive or uninterested in staffs yet or both when those first arrived. It was maybe 3-4 years ago I went out from Kama with someone to let them see how a skin looked equipped. They were holding a Lotus Staff (which I'm told was also dyed black.) I'd never seen one before, and I was so impressed!
for reminding me about the little thing when I first noticed the Willcrusher's skin and then found there was no chance of getting one as loot with other mods. It was right around the time I had another heartbreak when discovering that the staff skin I saw all those SF NPCs like the high priest wasn't even available in a less-than-ideally stat'ed green form. I still hold out hope that skin will show up accessible for me to get a good look at it, someday, somewhere.
Ditto!!
As to my own contributions:
The first time I noticed the statues of the gods around Ascalon weren't always the same was fun. I hadn't any idea what it meant, but I liked it.
Many years later, the first time I noticed that lava in FoW was not the same as lava in Ring of Fire and I didn't need to run like mad to avoid over-exerting the monks was a nice relief. I'd always wanted to stand around in that lava, but the Monks would get so mad at people who lingered there.
The "little thing" I never noticed before that I thought about when reading your OP, well, a few years ago now I noticed that *some* of the collector 20/20 inscribed and jeweled chakrams and storm/fire/frost artifacts (and earth scrolls) would dye. Then I noticed *some* had more than one possible dye effect depending on which collector they came from. Then I started trying to check my loot for dyeability before merching it. And, well ...
The "little thing" got not-so-little, and I found more curiosity about dye effects than I ever thought of before!
I haven't played much at all recently, and I don't know if I'll ever get around to finishing up a good summary with good picture examples of everything I've found. But in case you're curious about dye effects or GW quirks (and up for some reading!) here's the main page where I tried to keep track of my findings.

I haven't even begun to write up the similar issue with some greens. I *think* it's that certain greens dropped before the dye system change (at the release of NF) appear one color when equipped while those dropped after that point appear a different color. You can't tell from the icons at all - they look identical. You have to equip them to see it. I guess it's caused by the same quirkiness of code that results in there being more than one way certain skins of loot drops might dye, but I'm not at all sure.
If you know the answer, please do PM me!

... best looking staff in the game is the platinum staff/wand imho, perhaps followed closely by the willcrusher

realizing that in order to delete something from trade window you do not need to restart the trade but can double click on the item you want to remove... meta changing moment for me
