lol, Konig, no offense taken. I based the OP on the 2009 Wintersday workshop without the images, and I'm trying to incorporate feedback as I go along. I actually just took over the workshop during the Halloween party, so what you see right now, is about a little more than 24 hours after taking on the job as host (hence the disclaimers at the top and bottom). I'm also prepping for an important meeting tomorrow, but I wanted to make sure I at least got the Workshop going so people are aware of it as well as get some early feedback from people

Give me a heads up on what is confusing though so I have an idea what to address. I'll have more time after my meeting tomorrow to 'prettify' the OP XD

EDIT: I've got GW running in the background right now set to 'away' if anyone wants to drop off their donations

ooh looks lovely, I LOVE the headings with the little snow crystals :3
maybe you could put the names of the awards in bold? would make them stand out more. Also, and I know this is nitpicking but I can't help myself, that font on the picture makes my inner typography nazi come out >.< it really puts me off that the Rs and Ns completely break up the kerning (if u dunno what kerning is try this)

I have always had an interest in drawing, but learning without formal instruction has been a daunting thought. For the past couple years, I have considered using either this or the Halloween contest as encouragement, and I think I am finally going to do it! I have no hopes of actually placing, but I think that having something specific to focus on will help me actually finish something.

I will endeavor to do some tiny project this week, and officially join the contest if I can manage this first step. Whether I enter or not, I am planning to donate but still deciding exactly what. Is there a specific deadline you would like donations by?

Looking forward to this!

Yeah it was the font i was using. I did do it at 3 am lol so i hope you like this one better. If funny to cause the background is a screenie i took back in 07 during wintersday. LOL i love that screenie and thanks i am glad you like the wiki page. if there is anymore information ya'll think should be on there just let me know.

Ariena, I'm glad this can be your motivation for an art piece this year, and of course, there is a very good chance for all participants to place

As for donations, there's no strict deadline as long as it's before the workshop ends so I can put them in the proper categories XD.

I need to convert some of my ecto to obby shards (why does no one sell obby shards anymore?!), but whatever I have left afterwards can go towards the workshop! Idea for entry: Since the Beginning (A comic or painting of Dwayna and Grenth's battles of Wintersday when they were young). Meant to be humorous and endearing.

As well as the possibility of the other gods cheering them on in the background (melandru voting for Dwayna, etc.)

I also want to do a serious piece for the "all hail grenth" type thing as my second entry. That shall be titled "Hail Grenth"

I was doing some brainstorming about a new kind of Wintersday Workshop, but Thistle beat me to putting it up xD Awesome work so far on the first post, nice new pics and headers

I was thinking if maybe there should be a category for GW2 themed pictures as well? Seeing that this Wintersday Workshop is quite possibly the last before GW2 comes out. What do you guys think?

I'm gonna give one more try to entering the official contest (for GW1), seeing that Wintersday is my favorite festival right along with Halloween.

I don't know how much I'll be able to be present during the Workshop though, we have some crazy insane times coming up all the way till Xmas. I'll do my best to finish my picture.

I actually took some feedback about reducing the categories, so I tried to make categories that were as inclusive (aside from the campfire and grentch, but gotta have those!) as possible so everyone could have a chance at every award. If we get a bunch more entries that are GW2-heavy and participants want a separate award though, then there's a good chance we'll have another award XD

Ah all right The only reason I thought of a GW2 award was because (hopefully) GW2 will be out before the next Wintersday :P

I don't know about a Canthan Workshop... If I remember correctly, Tommy tried to hold it once. I can't remember how it all went, seeing that I was extremely busy IRL at that time. I only heard of it.
