Maybe you should ask if coming back is even part of their agenda? I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to just let GW1 fester (as is) until the lack of support kill player interest enough before they go "oh we don't have that many people on anymore, TIME TO CUT THE CORD, WHOO-HOO!! *YOINK!*
