Looking at it from another angle... 5-6 years ago many complained they couldn't get asian minis. Maybe in 3-4 years the bday gifts will give buffs to the step child classes and make them a balanced part of pve.

Well, first of all my guess is that once proof was posted by someone, everyone decided to post their proof as well since they were keeping it quite.

Also, they probably just want the minis to be more easily accessible to everyone instead of a small few.

These minis are not a money sink anyway, a money sink takes money out of the game. This just re-distributes the money.

I prefer that these minis will drop in price. Stop raging and get over it. Whats done is done.

Don't get me wrong here. It's stupid that they were that rare to begin with. I personally am happy that they drop despite owning a few of the pets that are confirmed to drop. This may just be because I don't really care too much anymore but it doesn't piss me off. What pisses me off is that they didn't do it sooner.

I worked my ass off to get some of the asians in my hom. And I mean it literally, I sat in front of the screen mashing stuff for hrs... and for what? Now they give these minis for free?!

Hail aNet for your bitch ass approach.... "Let's please casual players cause they pay the bills as long they are given virtual things without grind (for free)"

We had comunism in Poland back in the day... we still can't get over the damage it has done to us.

Let's all praise that aNet decided to play Robin Hood and take from the rich to give it to the poor.

Duping... bot pandemonium... no promised content... no live team... and now this...

I think what aNet does to GW1 is an awesome marketing move for their upcoming game:

Its taken two weeks just for confirmation of one of the lower tier/more common asian pets. Its not like they are in every third present. More like ANet wants to drip feed them in so even when all the existing ones are on inactive accounts post-gw2 people still have a chnace at getting some for HoM/aesthetics.

I wouldn't be so sure about the rarity. It has taken 2weeks since the introduction of the presents for this to be confirmed but my guess is that they not only patched the dupe exploit during last night's "game crash bug" updates, but also tweaked the drop rate of asian minis from presents i.e. made it more frequent.

That's the reason so many have appeared today all of a sudden, combined with the fact that the ones generated before the update were kept on the DL to support prices.

Eh, I think its unlikely that while shutting down the game for emergency maintenance and rushing out a dupe patch on a Friday afternoon they decided to mess around with present drop rates too. I think its just a coincidence that the two have happened at the same time.

And while there were bound to be some that slipped through before, its wasn't an an amount that made people take note compared to usual.

Just remember how arenet/ncsoft treated you. Blizzard doesn't do shit like this. GW was very profitable, but not enough for these asshats. Their execs decided that to ensure people would want to play gw2 they would do 2 things.
Give everyone 30+/50 and Gwamm.
Ruin gw1 through grind and then screwing over old collectors/the economy.

Now to the nubs who say I'm "butthurt" over the prices of my asian mini's going down. I don't own any asian minis. I have around 50 non asian minis left (kuuns, celestials,destroyers,etc). If you had read through the thread I mentioned it. I have tons of other stuff and have given away waaaaaaaaay more than most have so I'm not that greedy. Most of my virtual "wealth" is tied up in candy and stuff so 7th year gifts don't affect me at all. The 2 week bday event screwed me out of a lot fast ectos. I still have a few r7 weapons that have gone up a fair amount, but I haven't sold any so again it doesn't affect me negatively.

So why am I against the 7th years giving out asian minis. BECAUSE IT ISNT FAIR TO THE OWNERS/COLLECTORS OF ASIAN MINIS. How is this any different from all the other times the rare/asian minis have been handed out? Most of the rare/asian minis have been handed out several times in GW history, and I don't remember all the QQing those times...

I guess it's different once you finally have one, after that it's 'not fair' when other people have the opportunity to get one?

1). The massive mini pet giveaway of 2007 would be my guess.
2). Excluding duping, not that I am aware of... but they were given away for things as trivial as annual art competitions with no promise that they wouldn't be given away in future art competitions.

Are you daft? You try correct peoples' grammar, but lack basic comprehension skills. However people got their asian mini's is irrelevant. But most paid large sums for theirs. Just because many can't afford to pay those prices, doesn't mean they should get a random chance at getting one. It's devaluing them. It's also being lazy. Anet sees that people dont like the fact that there are so many stuff rare in a way that noone else has even 1 chance to get it free, like others did

nothing bad happens to the good feelings one has from winning contests and such and being rewarded with such rare mini for all that work... most prolly even left GW now, waiting for GW2

so the "i got something noone else can get" is mostly gone anyway, as those people most likely dont play anymore due to the age of the game

now that we get these mini's with a very small chance, more people can become happier, and those insane prices finally go down toward a bit closer to normal prices

the only place in GW which will be less popular, is DoA

ps. man, am i glad most of the elitism will leave to join GW2, too

give people a minipet while others never even had the chance to get em unless they'd move to asian countries, and they get angry, cuz they never had even the chance (which is indeed unfair)

Most of the rare/asian minis currently in the game (excluding the current 7th year present ones, and any duped minis that might have survived Anet's wrath) were given to players via a lucky draw... yes, they weren't earned initially, the vast majority were given to players via RNG... so yes, random chance... do you even know what you're babbling about here?

Being drunk and angry might seem like fun, but it's no way to go through life.

(I say this because you're clearly ANGRY, and you're not usually this stupid, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and blame some outside influence).

did you also shed tears when the gwc winners minis were given out in other contests? should anet just make new stuff everytime it may affect someones "investment" in time/money/skill? should they have made new lux/lurz after the double donation change? should they have made a new survivor instead of making the existing one reset on death? should they have made a new ldoa instead of making the existing one easier? should they have made a new glad title instead of making it points per wins? peoples "investments" get devalued in favor of more enjoyment for all constantly. i am surprised it has taken you 7 years into this game to realise this happens.

No they should've done the same as every birthday & came up with something new & original. They knew all yr 7th yr Bday was coming so why didn't they leave a team do that small thing? Yes the only ones happy about this are the less fortunate that couldn't get the mini of their dreams or merchants for that matter. Personally I think it's lame of Anet to not be prepared.

I have yet to see actual proof however. I'll look around abit now for that. Being a pre player it'll be quite something to see another pre Panda or even Kanaxai tho! Very sweet indeed!

I find it funny how people still care about elitism and prestige in this game. I mean, in 6 months from now, who will give a RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO if you have a Panda or not? You'll have a big epeen, but nobody to show it off to as GW will be empty.

Why do you think there were tonics for 6th year? because the HoM doesn't need to take any new pets. Besides they offered new pets with WiK and WoC. They wanted to get more pets in circulation for players looking to max their halls. Some of the same people here complaining about rare pets being in 7th year gifts are the same people that put down others for liking PvE over PvP. Freaking out about a virtual economy in a virtual world is border line crazy.
