What's Up with ECTO Price Plunge?

After seeing ecto at 16000/12000 (buy/sell) a couple of months ago, it has steadily declined to what I think are record lows yesterday at 7500/5500. What is up with this and the overall economy?

I just can't believe ppl sell them to merchant at such low prices when buyers are always to be found... anyway I guess i'm just rubbed cuz i'm sittin on a pile of ecto that is worth half now what it once was...

the new UW entrance at the Tombs of the Primeval Kings is causing some of the plunge...its fairly ez to get a nice number of ectos while farming for the greens at the end...

and NOONE WANTS ECTOS ANYMORE (yeah u heard me) everyone is saving up all the cash they have for ch 2, they dont know if ch 2 will feature FOW like armor or not, so they're not chancing the ectos

they are going to squeeze out a ton of gold hoarded in the form of ects grabbed when they were bought by the thousands for 100 gold each.

the reason they are selling for 5k now is that in a short time they may be 2.5k (or less)

who wants ectos when the next big thing will be ruby/saphire chapter 2 armor maybe

people farm, people farm UW, people make monks and necros too farm with each other, its not hard. Once people catch on prices fall.

i will soon however be using this phrase

"I BUY ALL YOUR ECTO 1k EACH!!" as i DO want chap 1 FoW armour, unless chap 2 cn offer better...i still have nothing to go on

BAH! I can't complain with the price dropping for ectos! Hell I can get a FOW armor very easy now after thinking that it's only for "L33T" players and ebayers 3 months ago! Them suckers paid 1,400,00gp for 100 ectos when u can get 100 ectos now for a measly and very awesome price...500k! O yes! Now I gotta come up with 45k more to complete my set! BOOYAA!

I agree, let them go down, wanna get myself FoW armor in the cheap way not the eBay way.

Lol yeah I knew this would happen, happens in every regular mmorpg. The old stuff becomes cheap and the new stuff becomes expensive. Just hope you are there opening day for Chpt 2, when all the prices for emeralds and diamonds will be 100gp and buy all you can cause if the armor requires them you can bet they will be the new ectos in price. I will continue to be a millionaire lol still wearing my 1500gp suit of armor cause vanity isn't my thing. I will purchase some new weapons for my assassin instead of some silly halloween costume that costs a million plat lol.

LOL.. Well said Queen! I dont even dye my armor from its original color because honestly, I JUST DONT CARE! I do not pay any attention to anyone else's armor, so why would I assume that they are paying attention or care about mine? I prefer to show off my character and her abilities on the battlefield.

I disagree. The FoW armor was supposed to be the end-game goal that was near impossible to get. With the decline in ecto prices, I fear the FoW armor will become as common as the 15k armor.

sad to say... fow is almost like basic 15k armor already. :|

Even if your exaggeration were true (which it isnt because no matter how cheap ectos are...FOW armor will always be more expensive and harder to get) What exactly is the problem?

And I always get a smile on my face when some greedy hoarder makes a thread in the forum about how he's getting screwed because the items he's been greedily hoarding are now cheaper and easier for the general public to get. It should have been that way in the first place in a game like this....


And what the heck is this economy "crash" people keep screaming about? I heard no crash, not even the sounds of screeching tires. You'd think the amount of times the economy has supposedly crashed we'd have no economy left at all...

Ahaha, we just don't know, do we? I have a feeling that the current price for jewels is WAY too high. I think that they will be used for jewellry only -i.e. be another gold sink. I remember G.G. or someone else talking about that a while ago (having jewellry as another means of making your characters more special), so it would make sense to use jewels for it

I always love it when someone with no skill complains how hard it is to get something in the game.... FoW armor WAS for highly experienced players...

I will be waiting for your complaints when you are unable to get your new Chap 2 armor because "it's too hard and all the "greedy" players just make it that much harder for me to get my new armor... everyone should be able to get the latest and greatest armor and weapons"... WRONG!

It should NOT be eazy for everyone to have the best armor or weapons... the best should go to the most experienced and those who are dedicated to the game...

If you can't gather the goods yourself, why bother getting them? Even with henchies you can easily get enough stuff for the armor... I did anyway.

the crash people are talking about is when the prices reset and you could get 10 ectos for 100g at the trader.

Well first do you consider experianced players ones that spend alot of hours farming ectos with a build they got off the forums? And second there is no reason that everyone shouldnt be able to get the best weapons. Just go to droknars for the best armor and find a collector for the best weapon.
