*awaits CE news so Khan doesn't get disappointed with Factions pre-order*

Ok I'm stupid - if I preorder will I get a box. I wanna the box dang it!

Guys, some of you seem confused. This is not a Pre-order version of the game.

I.e, you will not get any of the special pre-order goodies with it.

Also, both bestbuy and ebgames suck (even i know that, and im english) they would be the last place that i would buy anything from online.

This is just bestybuy/ebgames attempt to make some cash. They have no clue when it will be released, and they are NOT the proper collector/pre-order editions of the game.

if from a retail strore yes you will get it with the box

me im going into the shop and pre-ordering it there at least there i can actually speak to a REAL person and ask questions with out *plz wait till we put you on hold*

im getting it from GAME store i know they know wat there talking about caus iv bought nearly all my games from there. i can ask anything and as long as they have the info they will tell me.

i want the pre order edition so i can get the new items for it, BUT if it requires me to download the game from a website Anet can go jump.

i want a game i can hold and know that if something goes wrong i can reinstall from disk

Where do people get this idea that you have to download the game if you want the pre-order set?

You can buy the pre-order, when its available, shops will display it as 'Guild Wars: Factions Pre-order Edition'

The download is just an option if people dont want to buy it from a store..

Any idea what the pre-order items are? Just wonderin' if it's worth my time...

Its a bit random to be entirely made up, but a pinch, or probably a huge heap, of salt may be wise...

Just a few notes:

• We have not manufactured the actual pre-order box. Therefore, no store would have it in stock. Many retailers are happy to accept your pre-order, but they will not be able to provide the pre-order package yet. Retailer's general policy, and perhaps even the individual store's policy, will determine whether you would be given the pre-order box if you pre-ordered before the box was available.
• There is no official confirmed pricing for Guild Wars Factions.
• There is no official list of contents for Guild Wars Factions, at least as far as I know. I have an email out to check on different regions, and I'll let you know about that. I can see several things that I believe to be distinctly inaccurate in the listing above, but again, I will let you know.
• You decidedly do not need to have Guild Wars to play Guild Wars Factions.
• There are not two versions of the game.
• We will have official information about the Guild Wars Factions Pre-Order very soon.

I'll try to keep you informed about updates to this information as we have it available.

/rit cloth picture.------ch.1 had cloth map advertised on CE version b4. IT didnt happen.
/Mouse mat.---------Sounds nice to have one of these. hope this is real.
/1 extra character slot code.-------again nothing announced. but if you go stand-alone does that mean you can still get a 5th slot then? w/o ch.1. ( I really hope it's at least 2 extra. )

hmmm.. wait to get GW Factions after 4 month (like what i did with the original GW) or see which stores have preorder items (like the first game) than make my purchase there?

GAILE said CE/REG will be out at same time.

i really doubt the extra slot as that would be a real advantage just for the ones who could afford it.

remember way back they said that the CE would have nice goodies but cosmetic only . (an extra slot is way more than cosmetic)

hrm, if this site is true, which it may not be, I would have to be the CE for the extra character slot. Smooth move on Anet's part. Although, I finally feel vindicated to buy a CE, usually the cloth maps doesn't entice me.

Hopefully, ANet'll make an official announcement about the contents soon. And I hope the extra char slot is on top of the extra char slot for the regular Factions box...that would make a lot of people angry if you had to buy the CE to get any extra slots.

As nice as that all is I still prefer to buy the normal and save a few bucks.

I hope this isn't just for the CE ...

Gaile Gray has stated that there will be at least 1 extra slot for Factions. It's safe to assume that means both the SE and CE. According to this CE info, it would come with an extra slot, on top of the unannounced slot(s) coming with the SE. I hope that's true, as I planned on buying the CE, anyways

Also, if this is true, ANet will likely be entering the business of selling extra character slot keys for existing accounts. It sure beats buying a new account and losing your unlocks. Kudos to ANet (and the numerous people who suggested that)

Now that I think about it and read the previous posts, The extra character slot is probably just the one you get with the regular edition. ugh, who knows. This is why I don't usually post. We'll just have to wait and see.
