TROGDOR!

Yup, from homestarrunner.com comes everyone's favorite burninator in form of the skill Rodgort Invocation.

Others that is quite apparent is the Garden Gnomes who say "Ni!" in BWE6.
They are a reference to Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail, and the Knights Who Say Ni!

_Zexion Don't know if this has been asked, but where are these gnomes?

Does anyone know what kind of dance the Assasin Female is? Also a while back I was in Ember Light Camp and noticed a lvl 1 player named Kim Ryu...I had a picture of it but I seem to have lost it :'( I think it was either a weird glitch or an admin

Before Guild Wars came out, there were several weekends where people could "Beta test" the game at different stages, and at the end of these events they had funny/cool events, the most popular of which was Gwen turning evil and killing everyone.

There was only 1 such weekend for Factions release, back in march, where the weekend ending event was Kuunavang under Shiro's control coming and killing everyone in House/Cavalon.

Not sure if this counts, but there's an NPC in Cantha called Loud Kou (In Waijun Bazaar).
Anyway, before you do his quest, If you walk to Nahpui Quarter, he say's a speech that reminds me a lot of Johnny Depp in the new Willy Wonka film (about mumbling and to speak up).. may have been in the original film, though I've not seen it in a while, so I can't check.

is MORE COWBELL! Of course, the Blue Oyster Cult performs that song. And as you mention, the cowbell is found in a blue oyster.

Its Kung Fu, I forgot what stance movement it was, maybe The Horse, well, I lost most of my kung fu books, and this actualy reminded me to look for them again but, not it isnt tai chi, because you can tell in one of the crescent hand sweeps, he is mimicking the moon and the ocean

after seeing all the funny undies I checked on some other people...as it turns out, Krytan females with the pointy-backed dresses, like the rune traders of LA and Ascalon, don't wear ANY undies at all (I would post a pic, but I am at work).

(apologies in advance for necroposting, but it's better than starting a new thread for nothing)

One of the more recent references/easter eggs i found was one of the Paragon's locked shouts, "It's just a flesh wound." referring obviously to the famed Black Knight sketch from the holy grail. anyone know if "Go for the eyes!" refers to anything?

The newest one is the Paragon shout "It's just a Flesh Wound" which is of course from Monty Python and the Holy Grail

'Go for the eyes' is one of Minsc's shouts in BG. More accurately it is 'Go for the eyes, Boo'.

But then who is going to argue with a chap who has a giant space hamster for a pet ?

Also, not necessarily an intentional reference, but there's a collector in pre-sear named Kaylee, which is the name of another character in Firefly.

I don't think anyone has found this yet, but i suppose this is a reference to mutant fish from The Simpsons... it's the dialogue box of the Fishmonger you have to protect in the 'Closer to the Stars' quest

Guildwiki has a few things to say about ride the lightning- "Probably a reference to Ky Kiske's "Ride the Lightning" super from the Guilty Gear series of fighting games, as it has almost exactly the same effect. Both these skills are likely named after the Metallica song of the same name." or does it not count since RtL is a factions skill. also, the ugly stick, which is a reference to the phrase beaten with the ugly stick.

1 more thing. guildwiki also tells about the ogre slaying knife- "This weapon is a reference to an audio skit made by the Dead Alewives, a comedy group. In the skit, which is about Dungeons & Dragons, one character proudly announces that he has such a knife - "It's got a plus nine against ogres!" This skit was reproduced in the game Summoner by Volition and, more recently, by 8-bit Theatre fans under the title 8-bit D&D."

wow this is so old
Anyways, a lot of people probably know this one already but in Abaddon's Gate, at the beginning of the mission, if everyone types /dance Abaddon will start to dance as well. Then after a few seconds everyone in the party dies and I believe it says "you got served."

I like to look for in-game bosses that have skills named after them.. Bonetti, the boss can be found somewhere outside the Sanitarium in old Ascalon and Verta can be found on Kessex Peak. Bonetti is only like lvl 10 but Verta is a pita. May not be easter eggs, but still cool.

Grabthar's Hammer, a weapon dropped by Grabthar the Overbearing in the forum highlands, refers to the movie Galaxy Quest. (with Dr. Lazarus saying "By Grabthar's hammer, by the sons of Warvan, you shall be avenged!").

The skills "Never give up!" and "Never surrender!" also refer to Galaxy quest.
(From a quote of Captain Peter Quincy Taggart: "Never give up, never surrender." )

I don't know if this will belong here since it isn't really an easter egg but more of a pop culture reference. It's about everybody's favorite Tanking ele Zhed from Nightfall. Here goes...

Me and some guildies were vanguishing in tyria when Zhed breaks through the lines and tried to go toe to toe with some Frost Griffons. Needless to say Zhed tips over. To which I reply over vent " Zhed is dead baby, Zhed is dead." Now I'm not saying the only reason Anet isn't taking a look at Zhed's AI is to keep the Pulp Fiction reference viable. But in a slightly twisted way it makes sense.

One of Devona's new sayings in GWEN is, "Good...bad...I'm the girl with the big hammer."; or something to that effect. An obvious reference to Army of Darkness.

OK I found something silly in the Tyrian lands, It's sort of a Play on words in Filipino. But it's too funny. There's an Ele boss named Alana pekpek. Now it's pretty bastos (means perverted in filipino) Alana is short for Walana which means "no more" and "pekpek" is slang for a lady's "area" err yeah that place.

It's pretty funny. No more pekpek!
