Easter Eggs
Slade xTekno
I would like to make a compendium of all the easter eggs and other gags the devs have covertly placed in the game. Please post suspects here.

moved to explorers' league. this thread was originally posted in community works but i did not think that such a project would be as beneficial. i moved this thread to this forum as i think it would better fit with "spoilers" and such.
here are a couple of well known ones:
Rodgort is Trogdor, of Homestar Runner fame, spelled backwards.
"For great justice!" is a line from the introduction of Zero Wing, which is the game that started the "All your base" craze.

RODGORT!
RODGORT!
Rodgort was a man.
I mean, he was a dragon-man.
Or maybe he was just a dragon.
But he was still...
TROGDOR!
Yup, from homestarrunner.com comes everyone's favorite burninator in form of the skill Rodgort Invocation.
Others that is quite apparent is the Garden Gnomes who say "Ni!" in BWE6.
They are a reference to Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail, and the Knights Who Say Ni!

female elementalist's dance and male ranger's (i think its ranger) dance are from pulp fiction...
Entropia Malfectus
The female Necromancer dance is from Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video...
taion
"To the limit!" is a Homestar Runner reference as well.
Tur713
Not so much as in-game Easter Eggs, but a lot of the titles of things in the art book are song names the very first one I found was Welcome to the Jungle followed by Stairways to Heaven and Ring of Fire . I think there's more, but I'm not sure.
Kershent
The male Elementalist's dance is Elaine's "little kicks" from Seinfeld.
MasterDinadan
An NPC in Ascalon City (post-searing) is named Ellie Rigby...
There's a Beatles song called Eleanor Rigby.
There's a Beatles song called Eleanor Rigby.
Pariah
Ellie Rigby also talks about the lonely people. Another reference to the Beatles song.
Kalgareth
Ran into Galstaff the Light, a Collector out near the Temple of Ages. Refrence to the Summoner end game video where the main characters are play a traditional game of PnP D&D. Cool reference imho.
Awol Duteq
Can't forget the swedish chef language (options - language - you'll see it at the bottom
)
Konquest
The Bark! Bark! Bark! language option is quite nice...
Apart from that, all that was cited here is not really Easter Eggs, but rather nice references that the programmers do to have fun.
A real Easter Egg is something like that: In SimCity 4, if your computer clock is dated on the 25th of december, your cities will be white of snow. And yes, they have a lot of references too...

GunBlazer
Im not sure if this qualifies but:
When you buy your storage account from a xunlai agent for the first time, the npc says something like: You only have to pay once and you will have lifetime access, and there will never ever be any monthly fees.
Nice reference

Nice reference
Mistress Eyahl
It's the Warrior dances that are from Pulp fiction.. the ranger dances are like.. clubbing dances lol.
Oh and does anyone notice that on the female Elementalist dance.. her boobs ACTUALLY wobble?! Great stuff lol

Antilles
Yeah the female ele is hot stuff.
bobert
female ranger's boobs bounce everytime she fires an arrow

Bonetti's Defense is from the movie Princess Bride.
"Ah, you're using Bonetti's defense against me, eh?"
"I thought it fitting, considering the rough terrain."

Curio
There are a number of A Song of Ice and Fire references, if you've read the (ongoing) fantasy series by George R R Martin. These were mentioned in a post by BenyBen, Lasher Dragon, adam.skinner, oneiros, and Dracil in a previous post, but I thought it appropriate to mention here
In summary:
+ Collector Varis (presearing, Fort Ranik) collects spider legs. In the books, one of the craftiest characters is aka The Spider.
+ Ben Wolfson (presearing, ranger you rescue north of the wall) is a reference to Ben(jen) Stark. In the novels, he's lost north of their own wall, and his house symbol is a wolf.
+ A blood mage henchman is named Valyr Morghulez (not sure where to get)--exactly to the letter, this is an oft-repeated line by one of the characters when she kills.
+ A centaur dude is named Drogo Greatmane, a sorta tribe leader character in the books whose hair was never cut (a sign of defeat). These people are also known for their use of horses (centaurs being half horse, of course).
Great game, great books!

The reference is actually to an old D&D skit by the Dead Ale Wives, which the guys from Summoner animated the end game movie to.
JiggedyJ
This might count but...if u take off ALL the gear u can fight stuff in boxers or bra and a thong!
Auntie I
Should the Drunken Bear Hunters in Pre-searing be considered an Easter Egg?
wingedcoyote
A whole lot of the Shout skills are references. For Great Justice and To The Limit have already been mentioned. Another is Victory is Mine!, which is something baby Stewie likes to say on Family Guy.

Again; An "easter-egg" is something placed into the game that can be "unlocked" by doing a specific in-game sequence. i.e.: the reference above to having cities covered in snow on Dec. 25th in SimCity 4.
Another example; in Duke Nukem 3D, in one of the levels, if you approached a specific arcade machine, you could play the original Doom. Pretty neat.
Either way, the majority, if not all of the above posts are neat developer's references.... but not "easter-eggs".

I'm responding to the last post on the first page.... but thank you for the unnecessary criticism.
Next time I'll attach a quote. Pardon.

Lets not bash each other.
Anyhow I found that Male Necromancer dance is me during my last Rammstein concert I went to.

Sorry, didn't mean to bash.
I think I'm in a bitey mood 'cause it's finals season.

Beradok
LOL.... That would do it. Good luck on those finals.
Just graduated a little over a year ago, myself, so I know what it's like. Actually getting ready to head back to grad school and become a teacher. Ugh... funny how life turns out.
Anyway, again, good luck to you.... and enjoy the "easter eggs and other gags".

Inigo You're using Bonetti's defense against me, ah? Man In Black I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain Inigo Naturally, you must expect me to attack with Capo Ferro Man In Black naturally - but I find Thibault cancels out Capo Ferro, don't you? Inigo Unless the enemy has studied his Agrippa - which I have. Also, the necromancer Verata is named after the line used to open the necronomicon in the Evil Dead series: Klaatu Verata Nictu; which in turn is stolen from the movie The Day the Earth Stood Still Alathys Tylderaan
The rabbit in Ashford could be considered an easter egg as it serves no purpose, like the frogs, only it is selectable.

Oink the warthog, who follows you most of the way to Lion's Arch.

"Gurn Blanston" was the name Steve Martin claimed was his real name on one of his early comedy albums. He said it was time to go back to his roots, and was going to release an educational series called Learn with Gurn. Funny at the time (I think I was about 4...)
Zexion
Agrippa is in the game, in form of a boss enemy.
Can't remember where to meet it, or which type though. _Zexion Arrow Whisper
When protecting Confessor Dorian from the undead if you keep clicking on him he says "when they come, we form a circle, backs to each other".
